NFL wants to remove dreads

http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/...ut-of-helmets/

The NFL wants to propose for players with long hair not to have it out or ,as they say, not obstruct their names. One word: STUPID.

Why not just leave it as it is. Part of the uniform. Seems to work.

There is alot of styles of dreads that can be shorter and be ok within the rule. Just a few will be effected by this at all. How many other guys have long hair in the league? How long did Turley's hair get? lol

Unless they changed it very recently, it actually IS legal to tackle someone by their hair.

Cool, I wasn't sure on the legality. Doesn't seem fair that the long hair could gain you an edge (making guys tougher to tackle). It's really dumb if the point was to make it so you could see the name on the jersey. I'd understand if it's a player safety thing, but just looks? Lame.
