This argument fails on many, many levels.

I was hoping the Browns would suck out of the gate so Quinn could get his shot.

I think he could be a solid QB for years. He's a smart guy and will take care of the football. He's tough as hell and a pure physical specimen.

BK - your hate is ridiculous haha

He's been...iffy. He hasn't played at the level he was playing at, let's just say that.

Anywho, I'd like to say that Anderson has shown very little signs of being an NFL QB outside of his first 6 games last year. I have no idea why we shouldn't see if Quinn will be an NFL QB or not.

It's not like this team is going anywhere this year. We are average at best.

Maybe this is too much of a question, but uh...

What is it that Anderson has done so wrong for him to get benched for a nobody?

What is it going to hurt to put Quinn in and see what he can do? It's not like the Browns have a shot at the playoffs.

Edit: Here are Anderson's stats in the three games this year:

-- PASSING ---- RUSHING --
WEEKOPPRESULT CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT ATT YDS AVG LNG TD
1DALL 28-10 11 24 114 45.8 4.75 18 1 0 1.0 74.0 4 24 6.0 15 0

3@BALL 28-10 14 37 125 37.8 3.38 19 1 3 5.0 22.9 1 2 2.0 2 0

Here are his numbers in the last nine games in '07:

-- PASSING ---- RUSHING --
WEEKOPPRESULT CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT ATT YDS AVG LNG TD

15BUFW 8-0 9 24 137 37.5 5.71 25 0 0 1.0 57.1 1 0 0.0 0 0
16@CINL 19-14 29 48 251 60.4 5.23 22 2 4 1.0 53.4 1 6 6.0 6 0
17SFW 20-7 11 20 152 55.0 7.60 45 1 1 1.0 75.4 1 0 0.0 0 0

I admittedly haven't seen much of Cleveland, but besides a handful of games in the first half of the '07 season, it doesn't really look to me that Anderson has done a whole to solidify the quarterback position.

Though maybe the statistics are lying here.

It's not just Thomas it's the entire offensive line, it's been the skill players. I am not sure if they all aren't as good as they appeared last year, or if it's a coaching/scheme problem or a combination of the both.

Winslow and Edwards have been abysmal thus far, which sucks for me personally as I have them on my fantasy team . Thomas doesn't look anywhere near the player he was last year, and they really haven't been very good in protection. Edwards in particular has been awful. He's dropped more balls than he's caught. At one point, I thought it was rust for missing most of, if not all of training camp, but we're a month in to the season, and he's been a complete non-factor. At this point, I wonder if he's still hurt or has another injury as he simply does not look right.

If it's time to put Quinn in so be it, but realize if you do, you are starting over and and more than likely calling it quits on the season. Young QB's dont't generally fare well in this league. No matter how much talent you put around him. If they are having trouble protecting the QB you also run the risk of ruining him, as we've seen happen to so many young QB's who end up gunshy.

I thought the guy was a reach at that pick, he never showed anything at the college level against good competition. He was great againt Stanford and the academies but what did he ever show when they played someone?

If Cleveland believes they are out of contention for a playoff spot now, and the season is lost, and they have no fear of making him gunshy, then play him. If not, then stick with the guy who's played.
