Re: Jets owner doesn't think Darrelle Revis will play this year

This is why im glad current rookies are getting paid big money because this is just another example of a player proven his worth on the field and still not getting paid for it.

Regardless, to NYJets --> What are the odds Revis doesn't play? I still see it as a bad PR move that would significantly decrease the amount of money he could receive in a FA contract.
Only the top 5-10 draft picks make obscene money. Its actually funny how if Revis was drafted Top 5 he might not be holding out right now at all.

I'll personally pay Revis $15 a year to play for the Bears.

Teams not playing their studs what they deserve is stupid. I hated it when my Titans didn't resign Haynesworth and now the Jets are going to be hurting if they don't give Revis what he wants. I'd love to have him on the Titans though, so trade him Jets

Even so, he signed the rookie contract. If he thought he would be as good as he is now then he & his agent should've gotten more money. I don't blame the Jets at all...they signed him to a contract HE agreed to so the blame goes to Revis.
no rookie can demand anything unless your a top pick so that argument is foolish. he has outplayed his contract so the JETS need to break bread right now.

I'm the type that thinks players should mostly have incentive based contracts though. Players don't want that though because that means 5 years of actual hard work to earn you pay each year.
yeah so unless your the star player of the team, the owner can tell the coach to sit your *** down so he doesnt have pay you that extra 2 million. smh

I don't know. To be fair, this has already gotten much worse than I thought it would a few months ago, so maybe I'm just being optimistic. But I just think this Revis is too important to the Jets, and this season is too important for the Jets not to sign him. And I don't think of Revis as an incredibly greedy player, so I think eventually he will give in a little.
