They already have.

Otherwise, why wasn't Devon Still fined?

Again, we all know the players who do this know and expect to be fined, but nothing says the NFL needs to drop the maximum fine allowable under the CBA for each of these instances. Would it kill them to make the fine (a laughable) $25 or something. I'm not crying for these guys, because they have the scratch for it, but its just funny!
Honestly, I feel like there's too much piling on. We had a lengthy discussion about this EXACT situation and it's like Pack hit reset on this to jump on the NFL again, lol.

I understand why people are bothered by it, but (like in the previous conversation) they are trying to fight against players finding every possible reason to wear whatever they want. Instead of having a committee decide if someone's cause is worthy enough for player X to wear his own colored shoes or whatever, they don't allow anyone to do anything. All these reasons tug on our heart strings... extended breast cancer awareness, domestic violence, prostate cancer, etc. They will ALWAYS look like the bad guy if they tell anyone know as long as they can put a good cause behind it.

I really don't have a problem with the fines because they made a hard stand and the players know it. Props to the players for doing it anyway and willingly paying the fine for it. I think everyone is doing what they should.

AND I agree that the NFL are a bunch of hypocrites when it comes to money and causes, etc... but in this case, I don't think they should be piled on for sticking to a stance they made years ago and players just willingly going against the rules. Good for the players, but that doesn't mean bad for the NFL imo.

Again, my biggest gripe isn't the fines, do the crime do the time. Players know they face fines for these "uniform infractions" but rather the fact that the NFL chooses to go with the maximum they can. They could easily show some humility in the case of Cameron or Gay and recognize what they are doing and why and say we will impost 50% or 25% or hell even 75% of the max. Again we are talking about pocket change here, so its about the principles and appearance for me.

We'll use William Gay's personal tragedy to help pull us out of the Ray Rice domestic violence scandal our lax policies have created but, his wearing purple cleats to push awareness of that same issues we are gonna hit him with the max fine we can.
I agree with you in principle, but in reality this would be the same as ignoring the rules in place... and then players would just wear whatever they want.

And lets be real, most people up in arms about this think players should just be able to wear whatever they want anyway... so this is really just piling on the NoFunLeague for not letting players do it.

Re: NFL Off Topic

Don't blame Pack for this because again they have no one else to blame but themselves. And nobody here is piling on(didn't know having a differing views of how they make their decisions is considered "piling on").

Again, nobody has an issue with them fining players(why this was brought up, I have no idea why).

You can use MY story in one of your videos to show that you "care", but I can't use MY story to bring awareness to the same cause that you're promoting? Heh, funny how that works.

Again I say it's all about perspective. William Gay wears purple cleats to bring further awareness to DV (which btw has anyone seen a No More commercial this season?) is vastly different than Marshawn Lynch wants to wear cleats with Skittles air brushed all over them to get at $15,000 pay day.

At the end of the day I don't care one way or another. But there is a reason it's called a maximum fine because it allows for discretion is doling it out.

Re: NFL Off Topic

It's all good for the NFL the day after a 14 inning game one of the World Series featuring an inside the park HR and a bottom of the 9th game tying HR they have people talking about William Gays a pimp named slickback's look alike cleats.

Re: NFL Off Topic

I haven't seen those "No More" commercials since like the Preseason.
