2. I remember reading about how CBC and TSN divvied up playoff matchups. CBC got to pick 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 7th. If that's still the case, it means CBC chose PIT/OTT over WSH/MTL. Wow. The Canadian media's love of Crosby apparently knows no bounds.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread

I could be crazy, but I think people are sleeping a bit on Nashville. I know they are playing Chicago, and I still think Chicago will win, but if Rinne gets hot it could be a long series on that ice. I think San Jose gets past Colorado and then loses to Detroit in the second round. I think that Chicago will play Vancouver and that series will depend on how hot Luongo is, and even if he is Chicago has enough talent to win. I'm not going to pick between the Wings and Hawks because it has the makings of an epic series.
I could be crazy, but I think the East is the Caps' to lose. They go balls out for sixty minutes on the fore check and I think their aggressiveness will be rewarded. People always question their goal tending and defense, but I think it's the pace they play at that sometimes puts pressure on their goalie. The reason the Pens got them last year was because they had a beast of a fore check themselves IMO. The Pens could trip the Caps up if they get past a tough Ottawa team and gain confidence because they may have the mental advantage. It is definitely a crap shoot in the Stanley Cup playoffs so I will probably be wrong.

It should be fun watching Chicago's depleted defense corps (and their forwards) try to get to the nerve to lay down in front of one of Shea Weber's thermonuclear slapshots.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread

Bold (but biased) prediction:
The Kings will beat the Nucks, Blackhawks and Wings, face the Caps or Pens in the Cup finals, and either get mauled or somehow win. I know there's is a 0.001% chance of that happening, but I'm in dreamland right now, so let's just avoid getting shreaded by the Sedin clones in the first round.

It's a bolder prediction than you thought. LA can't play the Blackhawks in the 2nd round. The Kings would play either the Sharks or the PHX/DET winner.
