I bought Shift because of the connection to SimBin. I was disappointed and traded in the game. Let me re-phrase then. I'd love to see a Race Pro game from the SimBin B-team for PS3.

GT5's is what it is and has always been. It is not race pedigree, it is car porn.

Pretty darn good description... And you're right.

Thus why it is called an enthusiasts game.

But yes, I like your description as well!

Only reason these comments were made, was fear of the competition and the behemoth that these companies know that will slow the sales of their games, especially the just released NFS. Thus they are hoping to get those bit of sales from the easily persuaded crowd that jump into groups of comments so easily.

And seeing this from EA shows even more why they did not give Sony the sub license for Porche like they did MSFT (Peter Moore sure had something to do with that)... since they considered GT5 "competition" but not Forza ironically. Pretty underhanded if you ask me.

Why does everyone keeps trying to take shots at EA? Look seriously it gets old, anytime a representative, developer, etc from their company speaks out on another game. Everyone goes into a EA hatred rant! Seriously guys the driving games by EA(Publisher) have been very damn good, and they can warrant themselves to speak out on other game.

From Need for speed series period. Almost everyone of them have been solid games, and Burnout Paradise was just that, Paradise! The game is still amazing til this day.

NFS Shift was one of their greatest games, because it did go the simulation route and tried to compete with games like PGR and Forza, they just took a new direction with it. Only people who had bad things to say about it were PS3 owners. Because on PC and 360 it was greatness.

So enough of all the hatred and bashing, they aren't the Madden guys, they are the driving guys. And they deserve the same respect as the guys from Codemasters, because both teams have designed and released great and solid titles. And both companies have a right to speak their opinions on what is bland or sterile.

And like the other guy above said, GT5 is auto Porn, a bunch of pretty cars you can't do much with than look at them and collect them.

All other games, have incredible career modes, especially Codemasters series of driving games, which every career mode has been excellent. And EA's direction on their titles with story tie in's, etc have been great.

Really? And you want to talk about baseless ranting?

EA reaps what it sows. Just because people are retaliating for childish and unprofessional comments made by a company, does not mean they have EA hatred. I think the comments lack major tact, but still purchase NHL, Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Bad Company 2, etc etc.

Everyone knows how GT is, it has always used the same formula which made it successful. Those two companies are comparing apples to oranges. And should act professional, and put up or shut up. You want to make a statement, make it with an EQUAL game genre. Not with words that internet fanboys would debate with.

Everyone in here is 100% justified for saying EA or Codemasters should not throw stones. That is not "senseless hate" for the companies... but reality check from the customers.

I won't even make this into an argument, because I own every GT title, including GT5, collector's edition to be exact. I don't hate the game, it's just not the amazing clash of the titles driver sim they marketed it too be.

But I will say this, I have fun with other driving games more than GT5, hell Toca Racer Driver 2 and 3 are better than GT5. If you'd like to go into specifics.

And GT series has always been just that, more and more cars, as the did with Part 2 with the two disc set, to Gran Turismo 3 on PS2. And GT4 was terrible and a waste of a purchase, so I expected more out of 5.

With so many racing titles racing for sim status and some doing a hell of a better job. GT5 isn't much more than collecting cars! You don't have the customization, nor graphic details of Forza, during menu's and photo mode you have nice cars, on the track they drop resolution. Forza looks good in menu, and while driving. Not to mention I can customize to a "T". Forza's tracks are more detailed, complete environments with 3D crowds, building, high rises, etc. GT5 2D HD polygons with interlace buildings to keep progress lights on cars.

Burnout Paradise and Shift have better details in their cars, Codemasters Grid and Dirt 2 have better lighting, reflections, and car details than GT5, and I'm talking about while on the track, not while in photo mode.

As I've stated before release all those beautiful close up images during marketing were misleading to the car details during racing.

But against, I guess my disappointment or views can seem biased from the unbiased gamer.

Re: EA Claims Gran Turismo 5 is Very Sterile, Codemasters Accuses it as Being Boring

Right now the games are just about all equal to me. I have Forza 3, F1 2010 and GT5 and I feel they are all equal to me. They all do somethings right and something wrongs and all to pretty much even the field. There IS one problem with that. FM3 is already an "old" game so to try to compare it to games released a few months to yesterday ago is a bit unfair. F1 2010 is Codemaster's first crack at F1. I'm the kinda guy to give a guy a break on their first shot at something. Not a huge break but you can get a slide if certain things are in place. F1 has those things in place but has a few issues. What I really like about F1 is, ok we're only racing F1 cars, but a few tweaks here and there and one car can feel TOTALLY different than the other, hell two identical cars can feel totally different than each other without adding one part to the car. Just off the numerous tweaks in the game.

Now we come to GT5 it's just as good as the other games and their in lies the problem. GT5 is not the kind of game that can come out with 6 years of development and have a reputation of "greatness" and have a lineage and just be "as good as the other games".
