NBA 2K13 Freezing? 2K Sports is Aware of the Issue (FIXED)

It seems there are some issues when loading up NBA 2K13 today. For PS3 users, the game seems to boot up fine, but the online rosters have been reset to default. On the 360, users are freezing, during bootup, at the above image. The only way around it, is to disconnect from the Internet.

UPDATE: (As many have pointed out, if you have custom shoes, you will freeze on both 360 and PS3.)

2K Sports is aware of the problem and are currently working on the issue. This post will be updated as we get official updates.

I'm having the same problem , I came on here to post about this . I deleted everything and restored my data and it still doesn't work . When I don't download 1.02 it works fine but when I do it freezes on start . All my other games are working fine also . Help would be much appreciated , thanks !

Yep me too, its frustrating. One way I found to get the game to load up is to sign out of you're account, basically start the game offline. The game should load up fine then you sign in, its seems to freeze alot lately now. Must be a 2k server issue. Hope that helps for now

Same problem, PS3 also. Was just raging lol
I deleted that file and it works so obviously it's that 1.02 update.
Annoying. Hope they fix soon.

I think they might be fixing it , since it just said the servers are offline .. I hope they are ! It's a shame that I have to start my association all over again

i only play a few times a week and this is now the 5th time in 2 weeks that the game hasn't worked due to 'lolserverissues'.

this is weird though since it won't even get past the 1st screen.

2k is going to be the new EA?

I'm having the same problem but I have 1.02 installed for months. It worked fine yesterday tho.

The same problem, i try to delete all data file. it still freeze. I think only way to solve problem is offline.

It seems to be on PS3 only. It really sucks, I can hear the laser reading the disc when the NBA copyright screen appears and then nothing happens anymore. No logos, gamepad doesn't react anymore, I have to shut the PS3 down. How is this even possible? If I can't connect to the server I might understand. But the whole console freezing?

EDIT: If I sign out of PSN it actually loads the game. Crazy s***

I played it this morning and it worked too.

Guy on the my team thread posted this fix: stay offline and load the game. Don't sign in on psn during the initial prompt. Then go to my team and sign in. Should work on there.

2K Sports is aware of the problem and are looking into it.

All signs indicate something in the latest online data update for the PS3 users is corrupted, so when the game tries to load it, it freezes. Staying offline alleviates this issue. Ronnie2K has tweeted that he made the dev team aware of the issue (mind you, it's 8am right now in California where the VC offices are located), so I'm sure they'll look into fixing that ASAP.

When it signs into MyTeam it freezes again

yea I think it's a PS3 problem and not a 1.02 problem. I've had 1.02 for months and mine just started freezing today.

Wow, me too. It just started happening today! Glad I'm not the only one. It might be too late for me though. I saved my game files and in the process of formatting my HDD. 18 hours to go! Ughh!! I wish I could have waited for the solution! Damn 2k, Now I lost all my other saved games for nothing Sigh Oh, I also tried not downloading the 1.03 version and it went straight into the game but the resolution was off, it was a smaller screen window. Anyone else get that?

Alright guys it MUST be a problem on 2k's with the game data update. If you are logged in to playstation network when loading the game it wont load pass the trademark(before the nba logos) but if you are offline, the game WILL actually load with no problems. Then once in the home screen sign in back to PSN and game will go online without freezing. Something I realized while playing an online game with the Heat vs Knicks is... 1. Heat(away) were wearing white socks 2. Wade was wearing the Fly Wade 2, Lebron was wearing the 9, and Melo was wearing his previous shoes. In other words game data on 2k behalf looks "factory reset" for some reason which makes me come to a conclusion that 2k is working on releasing a new update to fix this or maybe due to Lebron new MVP shoes being added to the game and since the shoes has soo many colors, the game started trippin balls LOL but yea folks thats my opinion of whats going on!

UPDATE:

DO NOT delete the game data file, it WONT fix the problem.. and for those like myslef that had created and edited many shoes to make game looks as realistic as possible, you WILL loose all your shoes data for no reason and players with created/edited shoes will be rocking them fabulous generic shoes!!!

**True what @MuhMitchell said.. games will freeze at "Loading custom shoe data" no matter what**
I hope 2K really fix this BS cuz I had this problem once before and I had to delete "game data" and lost all my custom shoes(50 of them) and had to create them all over again and go over my roster to make sure no1 was wearing generic shoes. But at this 5/7/13 freezing problem, deleting game data will not fix the problem for some reason thats why I was saying to NOT delete "game file" until a solution by 2K is made. It will be a darn shame to create/edit all them shoes again unless that wont matter to you. I bet is those Lebron MVP shoes 2K trying to add in the game screwing things up. Hope this helps!!!

until this is fix I guess is time for some Madden 13, BF3 or any Call of Duty games! 2K you guys SUUCCKKKSS!!! cant wait for NBA LiVE to come back seriously
