FIFA 15 News Post

EA Sports has dropped a lot of information on FIFA 15 on their website, here are some of the highlights:
  • Match Day is dynamic and alive – you’ll stay in the moment, immersed in the action on and around the pitch. Custom behaviours mean unique crowds with cheers and chants based on their club or country. For example, Liverpool fans at Anfield will be noticeably different to Boca Juniors’ support in La Bombonera.
  • Commentators will reflect on fan reactions in real time. The samples provided are quite a bit nicer than what last year's FIFA had in game.
  • Kits move and change with the enviornment. Hair and facial reactions to the environment are much better too.
  • Run Touch Dribbling will let you keep the ball in a sprint or when looking for an opening in close-touch situations. Iconic players like Leo Messi will dribble and move like they do in real life.
  • The movement of the ball in FIFA 15 changes the game. You’ll see accurate spin, curl and flight of the football as it moves realistically after each contact. Experience authentic ball physics while dribbling, passing, taking a touch or blocking a shot.
  • Footprints, debris and slide tackles will all be visible on the pitch and corner flags will now move.
  • There are new man-to-man battles within the game. You'll see new shoulder barges and big fall physics as well as shirt pulling.
  • You'll command set pieces this year, you'll take control and position off-the-ball teammates during throw-ins, corners, and free kicks.
  • Park the Bus, In The Mixer, and Time Wasting – familiar tactics you’ll need to overcome. You’ll also be able to set your team mentality to Park the Bus to counter your opponent’s Team Tactics.
  • Compared with FIFA 14, where your opponent would look to retain the ball and perhaps play conservatively, in FIFA 15 they will attempt riskier attacking runs - this gives you more variety and a more human opponent.
See new screens of FIFA 15 on the game's media page.

I don't like the sound of this.

I just want to see how it plays. I want there to be more buildup. There is no midfield in FIFA 14. You are in the last 3rd for 90% of the game. AI needs drastic improvement and NEEDS defensive awareness and in-air ball tracking ability. The CPU cheats that plague gameplay have to go. The drastic loss of agility, one touch ability and pass accuracy is inexcusable and makes this game damn near unplayable online where you can't use sliders to combat the issue.

Goalies need improvement and the list goes on and on. This is FIFA's last chance for me, especially with PES on next gen looming.

Looks like no MLS stadiums if that Dempsey pic is accurate.

10 man celebrations, finally! No more only seeing one guy celebrate when you score!

From what I've seen so far, I'm severely underwhelmed. I expected a real next gen leap this year, but all EA can seem to tout about this year's title is about features that the game already had (shirt tugging, man defense, ball physics, etc). I want to really know if the teammate CPU AI has improved, specifically the CPU defensive AI in the box. Sadly, I feel like it has gone untouched again.

Can't wait. Just saw on the YouTube page that PC will get the Ignite engine. Mods will cover any other shortcomings. I am counting the days!

I
Completely agree. Tactics need to change based on situations and expectations. It's one of my biggest issues with '14.

So happy the new engine is coming to PC. I enjoy FIFA 14 on XB1 but the additions made possible by the modding community would have made an already good game so much better.

If it can add more foul/free kick calls than 14, then I would be happy with that alone. I hope for a lot more though.
