NBA 2K15 News Post

As mentioned back in June, Scott O'Gallagher (AKA OG) left the NBA Live team. There was a very strong rumor leading up to today, that he was indeed heading to 2K Sports to join the NBA 2K team.

Doug Veney of GoodGameBro noticed a slight change in OG's twitter profile and it is now confirmed. Scott is now a Gameplay Producer for the NBA 2K series.

Hopefully Scott can chime in from time to time, with NBA 2K details, just as he did with the NBA Live series. Let's all wish him the best of luck.

Wow! This is like NBA superstars teaming up to create a great team. Probably won't have much affect on 2K15 but should make big contributions for future releases.

Well I don't know him but he's played basketball professionally and he's now a gameplay producer, so this is interesting...

Not sure if any of the 2K guys have any professional basketball experience but this seems like it's a good thing...

Welcome to the 2K family Scott O'Gallagher. I hope to see you post on these boards in the near future. I can't wait to see what you contributed to the team.

Beautiful, we got another SIM HEAD at 2k, and he knows basketball, period, all aspects of the GAME

You won't have to wait until 2K16. He has already helped me immensely with features I've worked on. His basketball knowledge, understanding of how basketball video games work and willingness to help have been invaluable. And I can't speak for others, but I'm pretty sure his contributions are all over the game considering how hard I've watched him work with everyone here since the first day.

He has an amazing passion for the game, he's driven and he never says no when you want to throw an idea against him and discuss it for hours, nor does he shy away from bringing up and working with us on all the ideas he has.

An incredible addition to the team.

A guy that worked on NBA Live gameplay? No thanks. It's not necessarily a negative, it's not like this guy will just implement everything in Live obviously, but I don't see a positive really.

Thanks Leftos. Good to know his contributions are being felt immediately. Will only add to the anticipation many of us have for this year's title. Can't wait to see the additional improvements.

Wow, sounds great, I was thinking about switching over to live but with MyLeague and all the great news coming out for 2k, it looks as if they've kept me on board.

Good for him! Good to see good guys win without riding another man's coattail! Hopefully he brings realism to the game and not simulation or arcade ideas.

Good luck OG!

He was never enthusiastic about joining the NBA Live team anyway. I think NBA Live is better off without him. if he contributes to 2k in a good way great, but I don't feel that NBA Live is going to suffer without him

Maybe he can help improve spacing. That is one gameplay element that I thought was better between the '14 games. Anyways, congrats on the new job and good luck!

from the kd iso we saw spacing doesnt look like in issue.

granted its because all the defenders looked like they didnt know a play was going on and just standing on the perimiter lol

Well whoever he is...i hope he help change the way game play work with 2k14. The game is basically hard to control due to heavy use of animations for gameplay.
