NHL 15 Post-Launch Content Update

Thanks for being part of this journey as we head into the launch of NHL 15 on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, the start of a new generation of hockey videogames. We’re incredibly proud of the next-generation gameplay and presentation experience we’ve created for all our fans. From the Next-Generation Hockey Player and True Hockey Physics to the Unrivalled In-Arena Experience and a revolution in Broadcast Presentation, I’m extremely proud of what our team has delivered in one year on new technology. The focus on a new gameplay and presentation engine will not only deliver a great game now, but also give us the foundation to deliver next-generation hockey experiences to you for the years to come.

However, we’re not done. We’re committed to keeping the experience fresh throughout the hockey season, in addition to the roster and ratings updates you’ve always received, the list below contains the free content updates for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 we’re working on and our expected window on when you will see them in the game:

September:

Playoff Mode
Create a custom offline tournament bracket with up to 16 teams from any of the 12 leagues in the game. Play or simulate each game and track player and team stats throughout the tournament.

Be A Pro - Coach Feedback
Get the coach’s feedback while you are on the bench. The coach will give you tips on how to stay on top of your game and grade you on your play.

3 Stars of the Game
At the end of the game, see the three stars and their high level stats. Will apply to every game mode.

Hockey Ultimate Team
Several content updates, including:
• Changed layout and navigation in HUT store
• New animations for player items
• Improved edit lines screen to better identify players that are injured or require contract extensions

October:

Online Team Play
Online multiplayer mode where every player on the ice can be human controlled.

GM Draft
For the first time in the NHL franchise, you will be put on the clock and feel the pressure like real NHL GM’s. You will now only have 3 minutes to make a draft pick. If the pressure is too much, you can also call timeouts to extend the amount of time you have to make a draft pick or potentially negotiate a trade. You can make trades at any time during the draft. The CPU will also propose trades to each other and the user throughout the draft.

I just don't get how you can't play ranked matches with a guest. That seems like SUCH an easy thing to include in the game.

If I start a GM or Be a Pro now, will these patches work integrate into my save files, or do I basically need to wait until October (not trying to exaggerate) to get something closer to the full experience?

Honestly...I doubt it. I liken it to when they would release roster updates....you had to start a new franchise each time.

We couldn't get an answer to that question from the developer. That usually means to expect the worst and hope for the best.

We likely won't know until the patches start dropping. But I, personally, would expect to have to start a new to see the effects when the time comes.

There's absolutely no reason why these modes don't have full functionality. MLB The Show had no problems doing it, Madden 15 (sure it has sim stats problems) had no problems doing it, and I'm pretty sure FIFA is fine, and NBA 2k15 is fully featured also.

Yea I think I'll just skip NHL 15 this year. There are too many other games out that don't have stripped features for the same $60 price tag.

It wouldn't make sense anyway. Why should the draft logic be implemented in the savegame? Would make the savegame bigger than it needs to be.

Online multiplayer mode where every player on the ice can be human controlled. ...yet the screen shot shows 5v5 which s NOT every player on the ice.

Lets hope these content updates also include gameplay fixes and tweaks. Guarantees us 2 patches.

Ohh I would guess it would be more than 2.
My guess is they will drip multiple patches. Tuner sets, add content, fixes and such to give you the feeling of "Oh were giving you so much content for free", even tho you paid full price for a barely usable game to begin with. It will probably be the content that was suppose to obviously be included to begin with. Then it will all be repacked and sold as nhl 16.
In essence half the work sold for twice the price, after all that's the ea model.

WHY.............WHY...........Even with CPU to CPU trades turned off you cannot stop the CPU from signing free agents in BeaGM. 4 games in and Boston signed Brodeur Philly signed Pitkanen and a host of insane signings....PLEASE EA if your not going to give us Season Mode we need to have full roster control or doing the season in BeaGM is pointless. It just amazes me that the one thing you cannot do with an NHL hockey game is the one thing the NHL actually does......play a season.

Great!, but for the love of @#$%^&, please add an option to disable this silly, 3 minute timer. You do realize that real life has a habit of intruding on gaming don't you.

Player editing and custom rosters are hugely important.

Player ratings are too similar, and there is not enough seperation between players. We need the ability ti import a custom roster.

Look at the team ratings. Every team is rated between 86 and 90. That's a joke.

ITS BEEN A WEEK SINCE THIS GAME WAS LAUNCHED.....UNTIL WHEN ARE WE GOING TO WAIT FOR THESE UPDATES????

Next Month???? THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. People paid this at full retail value to play NOW and NOT TO WAIT FOR THE update/patch whatever should be there at the very first place.

I am so tempted to give this egghead nasty names....but I just hold my tongue.... dont want to be ban from OS...he's not worth it.

BUT DAMMIT RAMMER..... DO YOUR ACT NOW. HE's a DISGRACE to the Sport and to the Sports Video game industry.
