Grizzles Vs Pelicans

In Jaren's first game back it didn't go well as Memphis had no answer for the Pelicans high powered offense. They took a big 1st quarter lead and never looked back. With this being a possible first round matchup we have a inside report saying Memphis wants nothing to do with New Orleans in the 1st round. They are willing to lose games the final week to avoid them.

The big 3 for New Orleans all had 20+ with Ingram having close to 20 in the 1st quarter alone. Jaren was rough in his 1st game back as Jonas outplayed him. Stefan was amazing as a playmaker with 15 assist and only 1 turnover. T.J played well and should have got more minutes.

The Pelicans are the 6th seed and odds are they will stay there. Denver is the 5th seed and I'm currently the 4th and I match up better with them. I can have Jonas or Jaren match up vs Jokic and Thybulle vs Murray. Their F's (bol, porter) are better in year 3 still that's easier then Zion, Ingram and Lavine.

Easier Stretch Coming Up

Memphis is currently the 4th seed and 3 games behind the 3rd seed Clippers. They have a easier stretch coming up which should lead to a lot more wins. You could argue Memphis doesn't want the 3rd seed as it will mean a 1st round matchup vs the Pelicans. The 1st seed Mavs are a beatable team and Memphis has experience playing them last year. You would probably like to avoid the Lakers in the 2nd round as well if they can get everyone back healthy.

The playoff jocking for positions got more interesting with the recent injury news for the Clippers. Kawhi hurt his hamstring and will miss 1 to 2 months. This means Memphis likely goes for the 2nd seed to avoid the Pelicans and hope the Clippers hang on to the 3rd seed. The Lakers game will be key as Houston and Philly are the worst teams in the league.
