Portsmouth FC
FIFA 15 - Season 4

Pompey's March to the Top

August 2018

Portsmouth FC 1 - 0 Newcastle United
POR - Çiftçi 56'
MOTM: Krul

Çiftçi cut the ball in from the left wing and worked his way into the middle of the box where he fired a shot that deflected upward off a defender's leg while the keeper went low and it bounced over him and into the goal.

Swansea City 1 - 0 Portsmouth FC
SWA - Ayew 63'
MOTM: Fabianski

Sigurdsson fired a shot from the edge of the box that was saved by the keeper, but Ayew was able to slide in and reach the rebound first and direct back into the goal.

September 2018

Portsmouth FC 2 - 2 Everton FC
POR - Pereira 70', Hahn 82'
EVE - Mirallas 5', Gameiro 34'
MOTM: Pereira

Gameiro found Mirallas running towards the left side of the box away from the defense and he played him through on goal to finish on the near post. Gibson laid the ball off to Gameira outside of the box and he hit a perfect shot that curled around the keeper and into the bottom right corner. Pereira took off down the right wing and cut the ball in behind the defense towards the middle of the box before slotting the ball past the keeper on the near post. Hahn went on a huge solo run up the middle of the field working his way towards the right side of the goal and he placed the ball back across into the bottom left corner for the equalizer.

Capital One Cup
Stevenage FC 0 - 2 Portsmouth FC
POR - Mason 17', Pack 44'
MOTM: Fatau

Mason got the ball with only one defender to beat and he turned him the wrong way before cutting it to his left and then placing it into the bottom right corner. Pack won the ball away from a defender and went through to beat another one by cutting the ball around him to the left and then slotting it inside the near post.

South Coast Derby
Southampton FC 1 - 2 Portsmouth FC
SOU - Modeste 67'
POR - Çiftçi 50', Pereira 78'
MOTM: Holla

Pereira's shot was deflected by the defense, but the ball fell to Çiftçi in the middle of the box and he touched it to the right before firing it into the bottom right corner. Maguire conceded a penalty on the right side of the box, and it was Modeste who stepped up to the spot and buried it into the bottom right. Russell worked his way into the box and picked out Pereira in the middle who then took a quick touch around his defender and powered the ball into the top right corner.

Portsmouth FC 1 - 0 Fulham FC
POR - Hahn 31'
MOTM: Pack

Williams came out with the ball in the box and attacked the right side of the goal before sending a low ball across the face of the goal where Hahn was able to slide in and beat the defender to the ball for the back post goal.

Capital One Cup
Leicester City 1 - 3 Portsmouth FC
LEI - Ideye 23'
POR - Aguirre 7', Correia 58' (OG), Fatau 70'
MOTM: Fatau

Morrell threaded the ball through the defense for Aguirre running into the left side of the box and he fired a low shot into the bottom right corner. Kramaric played the ball to Ideye at the top of the box and he turned to fire a shot that hit off of Smith's leg and deflected past the keeper. Tisserand broke free down the right wing and sent a low driven ball into the middle where Correia stopped it, but it appeared that Jamieson pushed him in the back forcing him to knock the ball into his own net and the ref allowed the goal to stand. Fatau took off with the ball straight up the middle and got through the defense before slotting the ball into the bottom right corner.

Norwich City 0 - 3 Portsmouth FC
POR - Pereira 77', 86', Hahn 89'
MOTM: Bentley

Hahn cut the ball inside from the left wing and fired a shot at the keeper that was kept out, but fell straight to Pereira for the quick shot back into the goal. Pack played the ball to Çiftçi running up the middle and he back heeled it into the box for Pereira to go through and slot it past the keeper into the bottom right. Hahn played Pereira through on the right side of the goal and he drew the keeper out before sending it back across to the left side of the goal for Hahn to tap in.

League Table

League Play - It's hard to imagine that 13 points from 6 games is top of the table, but the results of not only our own matches, but the ones for the other clubs as well have gone our way. This isn't a position that we can expect to hold throughout the year, but the early success will do wonders for our confidence, and really proves those who thought we would go right back down wrong.

Capital One Cup - Two wins to kick off our Capital One Cup play this year over Stevenage and Leicester. We played our reserve squads in both of the matches, and several of the players were impressive for us. We are confident that our club is set up not only to be strong at the top, but to have the depth to compete through injuries as well. We are hoping to make a deep run this year as this continues to be the only domestic cup that has avoided the club other than the Premier League trophy of course.

Southampton - When we lost in the Capital One Cup final two years ago I made a promise to our fans. This is a club that they hate, that we hate, and I promised them that the next time we saw them that our fans would not leave disappointed. Having to go in to Southampton made no difference, we were focused to tear down our rivals and prove that Portsmouth are back. Çiftçi put us ahead first, but an equalizer left us having to once again work to ensure all points. Pereira found the answer and we held on to take down that other south coast club in what we plan to be a new era of Portsmouth dominance over the area.

Massive amount of shots in the Napoli game, what minute halves do you play? Good fees for wantaway players and Rabiot should be good for you. What type of striker is Ferri, good that you got a long term target. February, two draws to start against teams like Roma and Juve are decent results. Solid results for the other games, Udinese aside. Shame about Mancosu getting injured and just as he was picking up form.
Napoli - I play 10-minute halves for most games but up it to 15 for cup finals so there's more time to create chances without giving away too much space.

Ferri - He's a regen, I think perhaps of Antonio Di Natale. Not very tall but quick and athletic. He's rated 67 at the age of 18 with 71 finishing, so I think he will develop into a top player in the next couple of years. You can see why I was shocked to have got him at such a low price, especially as Milan quoted 4 million euros for him in the summer. I'm not a fan of the big target men unless they also have some athleticism to go with it. I prefer guys who can dribble and cut through space to the bulldozers, so he is perfect.

Udinese - I think it was one of those games you just can't seem to win unless you're a top side with 80+ players throughout your first team.

Season's done. We've done something special. Budget is WOW. More money coming in with player sales. There is something massive going on this summer at Bologna. We're going full-on tactical for this rebuild. I will finally have the squad I want. Trophies to follow, I hope!

Perfect in November, unbeaten in December, and unbeaten again in January with another win over Juventus. Good results all around, although it's unfortunate that you dropped in the table each of those months. You made some good moves in the transfer window though, especially bringing Rabiot in on loan. The unbeaten run ended in February, but you had a good month and moved back up the table, and showed Juventus once again that they just can't seem to beat you since your promotion.

Already leading the league, I would find it hard to see you dropping out of that position, especially with the moves you made.

What an accomplishment so far to have risen over both Chelsea and Arsenal. If you take home the Premier League title this year then that would be something special. I expected it to maybe take another season, but you have really improved for this season. Your moves in the transfer window only make your team even that much more likely to hold on to their spot. Really good additions all around.

Akpom didn't come on until late in the month with the injury holding him back early, but he turned out well in the last few games. I think he is going to be outstanding for you for years to come, it really was a steal for you. Third place, but only 2 points out of the lead, the race is still wide open for you to either win the title, or earn an automatic promotion.

I tried to with all of them but their respective clubs either wanted more than my transfer budget or just didn't want to sell. And yeah my squad is doing alright but I just need a clinical striker to help us upfront.

If the transfer window is still open I would look at James Wilson from United on loan.

Season 1
Will start at October as I'm just about a quarter way into the season.

October

FL2 Match 11

Plymouth 0-1 Luton Town
Cullen(pen) 71'

Shots(on): 10(3) - 17(5)
Possession: 40 -60
Tackles: 14 - 13

This was a very intense game and it also had a ton of shots that didn't test the two keepers. The visitors were the ones to come up with the all important goal 19 minutes from time. Cullen was brought down after a great pass from Mpanzu and he sent the keeper the wrong way for his 4th of the season.

J.Paint Trophy:

Luton Town 2-1 Southend
Simmed

FL2 Match 12

Luton Town 1-1 Oxford United
Simmed

We face Portsmouth next but before that I must decide my future. I have been offered the managerial position at Plymouth Argyle after only managing 14 games. They have a decent squad and a transfer budget of around £320 000. I'm really torn here as to who will choose to manage .

Liverpool FC 1 - 1 Portsmouth FC
LIV - Allen 59'
POR - Veldwijk 76'
MOTM: Zieler

Balotelli played Allen through on the right side of the goal and he turned to slot the ball past the keeper inside the near post from a tough angle. Portsmouth FC 4 - 2 Manchester United

Çiftçi played the ball to Telfer in the middle and he laid it off for Tisserand running into the left side of the box and he slotted it past the keeper. Russell found Çiftçi running into the box and he hopped over a challenge before playing the ball through the keeper's legs. Fatau took down Mata just inside the box and Hernandez converted from the spot just past the keeper's reach. Çiftçi cut the ball inside and had his first shot saved by the keeper, but he was able to put the ball away with a jump kick just before the defender got there. Herrera found Di Maria unmarked on the left side of the goal and he turned to slot the ball past the keeper on the near post. Russell cut the ball in from the right wing and worked his way to the middle of the box and fired a shot just past the defender's foot into the left side of the goal.

League Play - Amazing to take a point at Anfield and then follow that up with a fantastic win against United. Our players are in unbelievable form right now, and we are trying to stay consistent with our rotations in order to keep everyone rested and available for the season. There is a long way to go, and a lot of great teams for us to still face, but we are very happy with our current position.

Capital One Cup - Another year of advancing to the quarter finals, and we are focused on trying to bring this trophy to Portsmouth. We went with the reserves once again, and Aguirre proved to be a nightmare for Middlesbrough running down the left wing. His continued pressure ultimately resulted in the deciding goal when he sent the ball into the middle for Mason to knock in. Next round we will be facing Huddersfield Town, but that fixture won't take place until December.
