TNK BOSTON BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #24 of Season
Boston Bruins (18-5-0) @ Montreal Canadiens (11-9-3)

The Bruins begin a two game road trip with back to back games in Montreal and Ottawa beginning with a matchup at Bell Centre with the Candiens who are 11 points behind the Bruins in the Atlantic Division standings. Tuukka Rask and Carey Price will be the goaltending matchup

1st Period - The Bruins opened the scoring on their first shot of the game as the game across the blue line with speed and Jake Debrusk would finish off a pretty tic-tac-toe passing play from Krejci and Krug to give Boston a 1-0 lead just 1:52 into the game. The Canadiens were out-playing the Bruins as we moved past the midway point of the 1st period but Tuukka Rask was on his game in the Boston net and the score remained 1-0. Boston would get a PP chance with 7:42 left in the period as Victor Mete went to the box for tripping but the Bruins were unable to convert. Montreal would get their first PP opportunity when Backes was called for holding with 2:35 left in the period but Boston would kill it off and the period would come to an end with the Bruins leading 1-0 despite being out-shot 11-7 in the 1st period.

2nd Period - The Canadiens would get on the board on a fortunate bounce when Danault fed Paul Byron who ripped a slap shot from the high slot that Rask would stop but the rebound bounced off the back of Zdeno Chara and into the net for a goal to tie the score at 1-1 with 12:46 to play in the period. Montreal came right back with another goal a little over a minute later when Jesperi Kotkaniemi deflected a Lehkonen shot past Rask to give Montreal a 2-1 lead with 11:26 left in the period. The 2nd period was turning disastrous for the Bruins as Montreal would score their 3rd goal in a 1:48 span when Byron stole the puck from Brandon Carlo to the side of the Boston net and stuffed it past Rask as the Canadiens have exploded for 3 goals in under 2 minutes to take a 3-1 lead and whip the Bell Centre crowd into a frenzy. Boston would respond a couple minutes later when Jake Debrusk got into shooting position only to have his shot blocked by Weber but the puck would bounce right to David Krejci who beat Price with a quick shot to make it 3-2 with 8:49 remaining in the period. The Bruins had a late PP but could not cash in on the man advantage and the 2nd period would end with the shots 23-22 in favor of Montreal

3rd Period - The Bruins would enter the 3rd period trailing 3-2 and in danger of losing back to back games for the first time this season. The Bruins needed to come out with some energy to star the 3rd period but it was the Canadiens who were the more aggressive team in the opening minutes of the period and Rask had to make a fantastic pad save going post to post to rob Brendan Gallagher keeping it a one goal game at 3-2. Brandon Carlo went off for tripping to put Montreal on a big PP with 14:36 to play and the Canadiens had some good looks on the PP but Rask made some key saves to keep it a 3-2 game. The clock ticked under 10:00 to play as the Canadiens were leading 3-2 and looking to finish strong as Boston was starting to take some chances offensively. Carey Price made his biggest save of the night when Cehlarik hit the brakes and found Coyle in the high slot for a one timer but Price flashed the glove for a beauty of a save to keep it a 3-2 lead for Montreal with just over 6:00 to remaining. The Bruins were controlling play as they try to get the equalizer and the clock would wind down under 4:00 to play after Price kicked out a slap shot from McAvoy with Montreal clinging to a 3-2 lead. The Bruins uder their timeout with 1:33 to play and an offensive zone faceoff coming. The Bruins were trying to get possession so Rask could come off for the extra attacker when Heinen was called for tripping to put Montreal on the PP with 1:14 remaining. The Bruins would get the extra man on but were skating 5 on 5 with Heinen in the box and they couldn't generate a quality chance as the 3rd period would come to an end and the Canadiens hang on to beat the Bruins 3-2

* The Bruins drop a tough one to the Canadiens by a 3-2 score in Montreal as the Canadiens exploded for 3 goals explosion in under two minutes in the middle of the 2nd period to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead that they would never relinquish

* The Bruins lose consecutive games for the first time this season to drop their record to 18-6-0 while Montreal improves to 12-9-3 with the big win

* Carey Price stopped 30 of 32 shots in an excellent effort from the Montreal goaltender

* Paul Byron scored 2 goals and Jesperi Kotkaniemi added 1 goal to lead the way offensively for Montreal

* Tuukka Rask was solid in the loss for Boston stopping 32 of 35 shots

* David Krejci and Jake Debrusk each scored a goal and picked up an assist in the loss for Boston

* The Bruins will be right back in action tomorrow night as they look to snap their two game losing skid in Ottawa as they take on the Senators at Canadian Tire Centre. The Senators are 13-10-1 on the season and can pull within 7 points of the Bruins with a win

TNK BOSTON BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #25 of Season
Boston Bruins (18-6-0) @ Ottawa Senators (13-10-1)

The Bruins look to snap their two game losing streak in Ottawa against the Senators who are 13-10-1. Boston will have Jaroslav Halak in net after Tuuka Rask played last night while Ottawa will have Craig Anderson between the pipes.

1st Period - The Bruins and Senators were playing a tight checking affair in the early stages of the 1st period and the shots were even at 4-4 when Jake Debrusk made a nifty toe drag to get himself into a shooting area in the high slot and he would snap a shot off the crossbar but the puck bounced straight down behind Anderson and trickled over the line for a goal to give Boston a 1-0 lead with 11:44 remaining in the period. Brian Boyle challenged Brandon Carlo on the ensuing shift after a Carlo hit on Pageau and they would drop the gloves with Carlo winning the fight. Ottawa would get a PP opportunity late in the period with Nordstrom going to the box for hooking and Carlo was called for tripping 36 seconds later to give the Senators a 5 on 3 powerplay. The Senators moved the puck around on the two man advantage and Halak was forced to make a a few saves under heavy pressure before Chabot ripped a rocket from the top of the circles that Brady Tkachuk tipped out of midair to deflect the puck past Halak for a PP goal tying the score at 1-1 with 3:21 left in the period. The Senators still had over a minute of PP time remaining on the penalty to Carlo and they would strike again with another PP goal as they worked the puck to Artem Anisimov for a one timer that snuck by Halak to give Ottawa a 2-1 lead with 2:50 to play in the period. The 1st period would end with Ottawa leading 2-1 and out-shooting the Bruins by a 15-10 margin

2nd Period - The Bruins would even the score early in the 2nd period as Cehlarik worked his way out of the corner and passed back to Carlo at the point who moved it across the blue line and Torey Krug would rip a slap shot past Anderson to tie the game at 2-2 with 17:13 to play in the period. The Bruins coughed the lead up on a tough sequence a few minutes later when McAvoy was crunched on a hit behind his own net by JG Pageau who collected the puck and scored on a wraparound for an unassisted goal to give the Senators a 3-2 lead and McAvoy would head down the tunnel with an injury. Things went from bad to worse on the ensuing shift as Ottawa got the puck in deep and Halak would stop a shot by Bobby Ryan but Anthony Duclair would score on the rebound to give Ottawa a 4-2 lead. Boston would respond with a goal late in the period when Clifton made a beautiful slap pass to Charlie Coyle cutting to the backdoor for the tip in goal to cut the deficit to 4-3 with 7:44 remaining in the period. The 2nd period would come to an end with Ottawa leading 4-3 and holding a 26-24 edge in shots

3rd Period - The Bruins would enter the 3rd period trailing 4-3 and down to 5 D-men with Charlie McAvoy getting injured in the 2nd period as Boston has 20 minutes to try and stage a comeback if they want to avoid their 3rd straight loss. Sean Kuraly was called for tripping to put Ottawa on a crucial PP early in the 3rd period but the Bruins would get some good work from the penalty killers and get back to even strength with just over 15:00 remaining. The Bruins would get a huge goal from their 4th line to draw even near the midway mark of the period when Sean Kuraly finished off a nice play on the rush from Lindholm and Nordstrom to tie the game at 4-4 with 11:53 to play. The stage was set for an exciting finish to what has been a great game as we were tied up 4-4 heading into the final 10 minutes of regulation. The Bruins would take the lead on Jake Debrusk's second goal of the night when Krejci came through the neutral zone and showed great patience to wait for a seam to open and slid a pass back to Debrusk in the high slot and Debrusk used DeMelo as a screen and fired a low shot past Anderson to snap the 4-4 tie and give Boston a 5-4 lead with 6:04 remaining. The Senators would get a huge PP opportunity when Kuraly was called for hooking with 4:55 left. Ottawa had a couple of good looks on the PP but Halak made the timely saves and the Boston PK unit did the rest as they returned to even strength with 2:55 to play. Thomas Chabot was called for tripping with 0:55 to play to put the Senators down a man before they could get Anderson off for the extra attacker. The Bruins would win the ensuing faceoff and work the puck around on the PP where Brad Marchand would take a feed from Bergeron and beat Anderson for a PP goal to put the game away as Boston now led 6-4 with 0:43 remaining. The Senators would get Anderson off for an extra attacker and Jake Debrusk would score an empty net goal to give him a hat trick with 0:08 left and the Bruins would win 7-4

* The Bruins showed were in danger of losing their 3rd straight game as they trailed 4-3 entering the 3rd period before Boston erupted for 4 unanswered goals in the 3rd period to come from behind and win 7-4

* The Bruins snap their 2 game losing skid and improve to 19-6-0 while the Senators drop their record to 13-11-1

* Jake Debrusk scored 3 goals to register a hat trick for Boston. Debrusk was off to a disappointing start to the season with 1 goal in his first 23 games but has now scored 4 goals in his last 2 games to give him 5 goals on the season

* David Krejci had a huge night as he recorded 5 assists for Boston and has picked up 7 points in the last two games

* Jaroslav Halak stopped 34 of 38 shots in the win for Boston

* The Bruins have been fighting the injury bug of late with Pastrnak, Ritchie, Wagner and Kampfer all out of the lineup with injuries and things got worse when Charlie McAvoy was drilled behind his own net by JG Pageau and was forced to leave the game. McAvoy is expected to miss a couple weeks with a hand injury

* The Bruins will get Chris Wagner back in the lineup for their next game while Brett Ritchie and Steven Kampfer are expected to resume practicing with the team and are close to returning as well

* The Bruins are down to just 5 healthy D-men on the roster and will call up 20 year old Urho Vaakanainen from Providence of the AHL to skate on the top pair with Chara. Vaakanainen is the Bruins top prospect and was their 1st round pick in the 2017 draft

* The Bruins will return home to face the struggling New York Rangers who are currently 6-14-3 on the season

TNK BOSTON BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #26 of Season
New York Rangers (6-14-3) @ Boston Bruins (19-6-0)

The Bruins begin a stretch of 5 straight games at home with a matchup against the struggling Rangers

1st Period - Boston opened the scoring 4:40 into the game when Lundqvist stopped a slap shot from Vaakanainen and then denied Debrusk with the pad but the puck was sitting in the crease and Danton Heinen was there to poke it in the net for his 16th goal of the season. The Rangers answered less than a minute later when Philip Di Giuseppe split the D to walk in alone and beat Rask with a slick deke to tie the score 1-1. The Rangers would control play for some long stretches in the period and out-shot Boston 15-12 in the period as the teams would go to the first intermission tied 1-1

2nd Period - The Bruins failed to convert on a PP chance early in the 2nd period and the score remained 1-1. Boston would get another PP opportunity with Radysh going to the box for hooking with 11:31 to play in the period and the Bruins would have some good looks on the PP but Lundqvist made some timely stops to keep it a 1-1 game. The Rangers would get a PP of their own when Carlo went to the box for tripping with 2:31 remaining in the period. Boston would get some great work from the PK unit to kill off the Rangers PP and then Chytil was called for hooking with 0:21 left to put the Bruins on the PP. The 2nd period would come to an end with the score still tied at 1-1 and New York holding a 22-20 edge in shots after 40 minutes of play.

3rd Period - The Bruins would begin the 3rd period with 1:39 of PP time carrying over on the penalty to Chytil but they were unable to score and Jake Debrusk was called for slashing at the tail end of the PP to put the Rangers on a PP of their own. New York was unable to get much going on the man advantage and Boston would get back to even strength as the score remained tied at 1-1 with 15:00 remaining. The Bruins were carrying the play during the middle stages of the period and Lundqvist made his biggest save of the night when he denied Anders Bjork on a breakaway attempt with just under 10:00 to play. The Rangers would get a huge PP opportunity when Cehlarik went to the box for hooking with 5:57 left. The Bruins were on the kill when Chris Wagner was called for interference on a hit at the blue line to give New York a two man advantage with over a minute remaining on the penalty to Cehlarik. The Rangers set up on the 5 on 3 PP but squandered the golden opportunity as the Bruins came up with a critical penalty kill and returned to even strength with just over 3:00 to play in regulation and the score tied 1-1 as we head for what should be a thrilling finish. There were no quality chances in the final minutes and the 3rd period would come to an end with the score still tied 1-1 and the game would head to overtime. The Bruins out-shot the Rangers 32-27 through 3 periods.

OT Period - The teams would begin overtime skating 3 on 3 and the Bruins would win it midway through the OT period when Matt Grzelcyk poked the puck away from Zibanejad in the defensive zone to spring himself free for a partial breakaway which was stopped on a pad save by Lundqvist but Grzelcyk was able to gather the rebound send a behind the back pass into the slot where Patrice Bergeron one touched the puck past the diving save attempt by Lundqvist for the game winner to give Boston a 2-1 OT victory

* The Bruins and Rangers traded goals early in the 1st period before Rask and Lundqvist slammed the door the rest of the way as the score was tied 1-1 after 60 minutes of regulation time. The Bruins would win it in OT on a goal from Bergeron to come away with a hard fought 2-1 win

* The Bruins win their 20th game of the season to improve to 20-6-0 while the Rangers drop to 6-14-4

* Tuukka Rask continues his stellar play stopping 27 of 28 shots for Boston

* Henrik Lundqvist was outstanding in the tough luck loss stopping 33 of 35 shots for new York

* Patrice Bergeron scored the game winner in OT for his 9th goal of the season

* Danton Heinen scored his team leading 16th goal of the season for the Bruins

* The Bruins will remain at home for the 2nd game of this 5 game homestand against the Montreal Canadiens. Boston will be looking to avenge the loss that they suffered to the Canadiens just last week in Montreal

TNK BOSTON BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #27 of Season
Montreal Canadiens (14-9-3) @ Boston Bruins (20-6-0)

The Bruins and Canadiens meet in Boston with the Bruins looking to redeem themselves after losing to the Canadiens one week ago in Montreal. Tuukka Rask will be in the net for Boston against Keith Kinkaid for Montreal with Carey Price getting the night off.

1st Period - The Bruins came out flat and it was all Montreal in the opening minutes of the game as the Canadiens registered the first 6 shots on net and would open the scoring 5:52 into the game when Ryan Poehling finished off nice feed from Lehkonen to give Montreal a 1-0 lead. The Bruins started to settle in midway through the period and had a couple quality chances but Kinkaid would make the saves to keep it a 1-0 game. Boston was starting to maintain pressure late in the period and would go on the PP when Xavier Ouellet was called for hooking with 3:58 remaining in the period. The Bruins had good looks on the PP but failed to cash in and the Canadiens would kill it off. Montreal would extend their lead when they came up ice with under 30 seconds to play in the period and Domi would leave a drop pass for Tomas Tatar who wound up for a blast from the top of the circles that rang off the post but Jeff Petry was crashing in from the point and was able to knock the puck in on his backhand for a big goal to give the Canadiens a 2-0 lead with 0:20 left in the period. The Canadiens would take a 2-0 lead to the dressing room after one period and the shots were even at 13-13

2nd Period - Boston went on the PP right on the opening shift of the period when Domi was called for a slash but Kinkaid came up big to keep it a 2-0 game. Montreal failed to convert on a PP try of their own a few minutes later as the Bruins PK unit did a great job only allowing 1 shot on the PK. The Bruins were controlling play as we approached the midway mark of the period but still trailed 2-0. Danton Heinen would take a hooking penalty to put Montreal on another PP but the Bruins PK unit did the job again to keep the score 2-0 and get back to even strength. Boston would finally get on the board as Carlo played the puck down the wall to Krejci who made a nice move to come out of the corner and found Heinen alone at the far dot with a cross ice pass and Heinen buried his chance for his 17th goal of the season to cut the deficit to 2-1 with 6:48 remaining in the period. The Bruins had all the momentum and were pushing to get the tying goal when Marchand took a poorly timed slashing penalty with 4:10 left in the period. The Canadiens failed to generate many scoring chances with the man advantage and the 2nd period would come to an end with Montreal leading 2-1 and the Bruins holding a 28-20 edge in shots

3rd Period - The Bruins would enter the 3rd period trailing 2-1 with 20 minutes left to try and stage a comeback. Connor Clifton was injured on the opening shift of the period and the Bruins were going to have to finish this game with 5 defensemen. The Bruins and Canadiens traded unsuccessful PP opportunities and the clock would tick under 10:00 to play with Montreal still leading 2-1 thanks to strong work in net by Kinkaid. Boston came within a hair of the equalizer with just over 3:00 to play when Debrusk found Krejci alone in the slot but his shot rang off the crossbar and stayed out. The Bruins comeback bid fell short as Grzelcyk was called for a trip with just over 2:00 to play and Montreal would score on the ensuing PP with 0:22 remaining as Max Domi beat Rask for a PP goal to cap off a 3-1 victory for the Canadiens.

* The Bruins suffer a 3-1 defeat on home ice to their arch rivals as the Canadiens come to Boston and grind out a victory. The Bruins have now lost

* The Bruins have lost 3 of their last 5 and fall to 20-7-0 on the season while Montreal improves to 15-9-3 and is gaining ground on the 1st place Bruins in the Atlantic Division Standings

* Keith Kinkaid got the start in net for Montreal in place of Carey Price and Kinkaid turned in a phenomenal performance stopping 40 of 41 shots in the win

* Tuukka Rask stopped 25 of 28 shots in net for Boston

* Max Domi and Jeff Petry each scored a goal and picked up an assist for Montreal

* Danton Heinen continues to find the net as he scored his team leading 17th goal for the Bruins

* The Bruins called up RW Zach Senyshyn from Providence of the AHL

* The Bruins got a D-man back as Steven Kampfer returned to the lineup but Connor Clifton was injured in the 3rd period and will miss a week or so with a shoulder injury. Urho Vaakanainen will step back into the lineup in place of Clifton and the Bruins are also missing Charlie McAvoy on the blue line.

* The Bruins will continue their current 5 game homestand as the Carolina Hurricanes come to TD Garden for the first meeting between the Bruins and Hurricanes since Boston swept Carolina in the Eastern Conference Finals last season. The Hurricanes come in to the game with a 14-8-5 record and are in 2nd place in the Metropolitan Division

TNK BOSTON BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #28 of Season
Carolina Hurricanes (14-8-5) @ Boston Bruins (20-7-0)

The Bruins and Hurricanes meet for the first time since last seasons Eastern Conference Finals where Boston swept Carolina to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. Boston has lost 3 of their last 5 gsames and will have Jaroslav Halak in net against James Reimer for Carolina

1st Period - The Bruins were carrying the play from the opening puck drop and had some great chances to take an early lead but Reimer was sharp in the Carolina net and kept the game scoreless. The Hurricanes had a great opportunity to score when Aho got free for a partial breakaway and was tripped by Chara which resulted in a penalty shot and Aho would beat Halak with a filthy deke to the backhand to give Carolina a 1-0 lead with 6:59 left in the period. The Bruins would out-shoot the Hurricanes 14-11 in the 1st period but Carolina would take a 1-0 lead into the intermission

2nd Period - Carolina scored less than 2 minutes into the 2nd period when Aho played the puck to Hamilton at the point and he took a slap shot that was stopped by Halak but Ryan Dzingel was able to gather the rebound and put it in the open net to extend the Hurricanes lead to 2-0. Jordan Martinook took a hooking penalty a couple minutes later to put Boston on the PP but they were unable to cash in and the score remained 2-0. The Hurricanes had back to back powerplays late in the period but Aho would be called for tripping with 1:16 to play in the period and the teams would skate 4 on 4 for 25 seconds before Boston would go on the powerplay with under a minute left in the period. The 2nd period would come to an end with Carolina leading 2-0 and Boston holding a 24-21 edge in shots

3rd Period - The Bruins would begin the 3rd period trailing 2-0 with an abbreviated powerplay as Aho still had 44 remaining on his penalty from the 2nd period. The Hurricanes returned to even strength and extended their lead to 3-0 seconds later as they got the puck in deep and Teuvo Teräväinen blasted a one timer past Halak off a nice pass from Martinook with 18:47 remaining. The Bruins found themselves with a 3 goal deficit and looking for some type of spark and Brandon Carlo would catch Aho with his head down in open ice on the ensuing shift and deliver a vicious hit that left Aho down on the ice and knocked him out of the game. The Bruins were generating chances offensively but could not get the puck past Reimer as the clock would wind down under 10:00 to play. Boston would get a PP opportunity when Edmundson was called for hooking with 8:18 remaining but Boston could not convert as the clock continued to tick away. The Hurricanes would finish strong as they come in to Boston and shut out the Bruins 3-0

* The Bruins recent funk continues as they get shut out 3-0 by the Hurricanes

* The Bruins have now lost 4 of their last 6 games to fall to 20-8-0 on the season while Carolina improves to 15-8-5

* James Reimer was outstanding in the Carolina net stopping all 39 shots faced for the shutout. Reimer has been filling in as the #1 net minder for Carolina with Petr Mrazek out with an injury and Reimer has done an excellent job going 7-1-1 with a 2.28 GAA and .921 Save%

* Sebastian Aho led the way offensively for Carolina with a goal and an assist but left the game with an injury after getting laid out in open ice by Brandon Carlo

* Jaroslav Halak stopped 25 of 28 shots in the loss for Boston

* The Bruins will do some line juggling to try and find some combinations that work as they are struggling offensively of late.

* The Bruins are still without Pastrnak, McAvoy and Clifton who are all expected back from injury within the next week to 10 days, but they will get Brett Ritchie back in the lineup for their next game and will send Peter Cehlarik back down to Providence of the AHL

* The Bruins remain at home for their next game as the Chicago Blackhawks come to TD Garden with a 16-10-1 record

Re: TNK NHL 20 SLIDERS

TNK BOSTON BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #29 of Season
Chicago Blackhawks (16-10-1) @ Boston Bruins (20-8-0)

The struggling Bruins have lost 4 of their last 6 and look to get back on track against the Blackhawks. Boston will have Tuukka Rask back in net while Chicago will go with Robin Lehner. The Blackawks are missing Jonathan Toews due to injury while Boston is missing David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy and Connor Clifton.

1st Period - The Bruins had their skating legs early and controlled play in the early stages of the period as Chicago struggled to generate much offensively. The teams traded PP opportunities midway through the period with neither team able to take advantage on the PP and the game remained scoreless. The Bruins would score the games first goal on a beautiful set up as Nordstrom passed to Kuraly who fired a one touch cross ice pass to Chris Wagner who blew a one timer past Lehner to give Boston a 1-0 lead with 3:23 left in the period. The Bruins struck again just over a minute later when Marchand found Zach Senyshyn streaking to the far post and Senyshyn snapped a shot past Lehner to extend the Bruins lead to 2-0 with 2:04 to play in the period. The Blackhawks went on the PP when Carlo was called for slashing with 0:51 remaining in the period and the 1st period would conclude with the Bruins leading 2-0 and out-shooting Chicago 13-4 in a very well played period for Boston

2nd Period - The Blackhawks began the 2nd period on the PP with 1:09 carrying over on the penalty to Carlo but the Bruins would kill it off and return to even strength. The Blackhawks were down to 11 forwards as Andrew Shaw left the game with an injury after getting crunched along the boards by Zdeno Chara early in the period. Boston extended their lead midway though the period when Senyshyn poked the puck away from Olli Maatta and snapped off a quick shot that beat Lehner just inside the post for his 2nd goal of the night to make it 3-0 with 9:41 remaining in the 2nd period. Chicago would get on the board late in the period as they caught a huge break on a lucky bounce when Rask played the puck behind the net and attempted to move the puck but his pass would hit off the back of Krug and went right to Zach Smith who fired into the open net to cut the Bruins lead to 3-1 with 5:49 left in the period. The Bruins went on the PP with 1:29 left and the period would come to an end with the Bruins leading 3-1 and holding a 24-10 edge in shots

3rd Period - The Bruins would enter the 3rd period with a 3-1 lead and have played outstanding defensive hockey through two periods as they have held Chicago to just 10 shots on net as the Blackhawks will need to find a way to start generating some offensive chances over the final 20 minutes if they want to come back in this game. The Blackhawks would capitalize on a Bruins turnover early in the period when Chara coughed up the puck behind his own net and Perlini found Patrick Kane alone in the slot for a one timer to make it a 3-2 game with 16:54 remaining. The Bruins needed to regroup as they suddenly found themselves with a one goal lead and they would respond just 24 seconds later as they got the puck in deep and Heinen passed back to Carlo who fired a shot from the point and Jake Debrusk was in front to collect the rebound and tuck it past Lehner for a huge goal to push the lead to 4-2 with 16:30 to play. The clock would wind down under 10:00 to play and Chicago would get a big PP opportunity with 8:41 left when Kuraly was called for boarding. Chicago had some good looks on the PP but Rask made a couple tough saves at a critical time and Boston would kill off the penalty and return to even strength. The Blackhawks were taking chances to try and create something offensively as the clock ticked under 4:00 to play. Chicago would get Lehner off for the extra attacker in the final minute but Boston would hold on for a 4-2 win

* The Bruins get back on track with a much needed 4-2 win over the Blackhawks at TD Garden.

* The Bruins improve to 21-8-0 while the Blackhawks fall to 16-11-1

* Zach Senyshyn was moved up to play in David Pastrnak's spot on the top line with Bergeron and Marchand and Senyshyn responded by scoring 2 goals and will remain at RW on the top line until Pastrnak returns to the lineup in the next 7 to 10 days

* Tuukka Rask had an easy night as he faced just 19 shots and stopped 17 in the win

* Robin Lehner allowed 4 goals on 35 shots in net for Chicago

* Jake Debrusk and Chris Wagner also scored goals for Boston

* The Bruins 2-2-0 through the first 4 games of this 5 game homestand which wraps up with a big showdown between two of the leagues top teams as the Bruins (21-8-0) face the Colorado Avalanche who are 20-7-1 on the season.
