Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Boise State a distant 3rd in Coaches Poll
The latest USA Today Coaches Poll is exactly what most figured it would be, USF fell from the top 10 all the way to 15th, and Boise State moved to 3rd.
Kansas and Missouri each have Big XII matchups this week at home, and then they meet November 29th. If Missouri wins this next week at home against Iowa State then the two teams will have a rematch December 3rd for the Big XII title. This means there is a way for Arkansas to slip into a BCS game.
Also there is a chance for TCU or Ohio State to slip into the BCS National Championship even if Boise State goes undefeated, because if Kansas and Missouri trade victories it could hurt both in the human polls just enough to let a TCU or Ohio State team with a strong conference championship game win and a good winning streak slip past both.

BCS Bowl Projections
BCS National Championship Kansas vs Boise State Missouri is very weak against the pass, Texas Tech showed that. Missouri's first string is strong on defense, but after that they are too injury riddled and inexperienced to hold Kansas down.
Orange Bowl Virginia vs Rutgers Virginia is on a roll, and so is Rutgers. Both are looking for BCS berths, Virginia as ACC champion and Rutgers as an at large
Rose Bowl Michigan vs TCU Michigan looks to be the best in the Big 10, their only losses were at the beginning of the season and one of them was to #1 Missouri by 5 points.
TCU and California are headed straight for a date for the Pac-12 title, and TCU looks like the better squad
Sugar Bowl LSU vs Middle Tennessee State LSU is easily the best team in the SEC week to week, and Middle Tennessee State has almost locked up the Non-AQ automatic bid.
Fiesta Bowl Arkansas vs USF Despite not controlling the Big East anymore, USF is tied with Louisville and Cincinnati and SMU. USF holds the tie-breaker over SMU, hasn't played Cincinnati yet, and Louisville and SMU still have to play. If only USF and Louisville finish tied then Louisville goes, but that is doubtful.
Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Big XII looks to get 9 teams bowl eligible
The Big XII is having a great year, and is projected to get 9 teams bowl eligible. Given they don't have 9 spots to fill it is doubtful all the teams get to go.
So far the projections are: BCS National Championship Kansas vs BCS #1/2 Fiesta Bowl Arkansas vs BCS Cotton Bowl Missouri vs SEC Alamo BowlArizona vs PAC-12 Insight BowlArizona State vs Big 10 Holiday Bowl Baylor vs Pac-12 Texas Bowl Kansas State vs Big 10
Oklahoma and Oklahoma State both look to finish 6-6 and bowl eligible, so they could fill spots if not all the other bowls fill theirs.
Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
BCS Poll released
Besides USF falling to 16th the polls were exactly what everyone expected. Apparently losing to a below .500 conference opponent is not something top 10 teams are made of.
This next week appears to be a tune-up week before the big rivalry match ups November 29th.

Game Notes
The annual border matchup between Missouri and Iowa State has been dominated by Missouri recently, as the Tigers have won 7 in a row and 10 of the last 11 games.
Missouri won last year's game handily, but this rivalry has a way of having a close game at least every other year usually. Iowa State looks to use emotion to force a close game, as they have no other option. They are out manned talent wise.
Their only hope is to tire out the Missouri defense and take advantage of the weak second string. However, Missouri's second string is still better than Iowa State's starting line and most likely we are looking at a 49-14 victory for the Tigers.
Other games to watch this weekend
#3 Boise State (10-0) travels to Nevada (7-3)
Baylor (6-4) travels to #2 Kansas (10-0)
#4 Texas Christian (9-1) travels to #24 Utah (7-3) to lock down the Pac-12 South in College Gameday's Big Game of the week!
#12 California (9-1) travels to Stanford (7-4) for the Big Game

I did not take the SEC route, it was not announced when I made some other conference changes and I didn't figure we would jump to the SEC, so it's not fully realistic anymore but I enjoy it still.
I am St Joseph, MO area myself, try to make 1 or 2 Tiger games every year, always the Border Showdown (still War imo).
I was just reading this stuff, I'm from Raytown, MO. Small world huh? I have alot of family in St. Joes
Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Man, I got in on this dynasty when it was already about 10-12 pages old and have been following. Interesting directions you've gone and it's been a great read.
