Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah, you might be missing some info like I was before. From LAD perspective, they'd PREFER the LH Joc to RH Byrd not to mention years of control etc., but I wouldn't make it a deal breaker either if PHi is insistent on it. If you passed on Joc, then you could probably go with 2 other prospects in his place and that could be more value for PHI. That's my thought but there is no way any of us could know for certain what Amaro or Coletti would do--especially Amaro!
This is the franchise where Ethier was traded, correct? They don't have a 4th OF, so Pederson was called up.
There were posts a few pages back about how is pitching style can withstand him getting older, so I won't go too far into that. Cliff Lee pitching well, not being on the last year of his contact, has a ton of value. There are plenty of teams that would kill to have Lee in their rotation.
With that being said, not taking Pederson in the deal would be ridiculous. He's one of their top three prospects, and it's close between him, Urias and Seager. I don't know why you'd take less than that.
Completely scrap the 4th OF idea. Byrd doesn't really need to go there, and neither does Mayberry. They can call someone up like Scott Van Slyke, but that's their problem, let them deal with it internally.
There's way too much overthinking going on with this trade. Send them Lee, get some really solid prospects, and be done with it.
IRL, Pederson probably doesn't contribute much at the major league level anyways (meaning this year, barring a major injury) and I doubt that the Dodgers would call him up + ruin his minor league progression at 21 just to have him have the occasional at-bat as a 4th OF.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Aaron Sanchez of the Blue Jays could be an option. They like Stroman better and with that roster would rather win now then later. Neil Walker would be a great fit for them as they're not so strong at 2B. Jordy Mercer wouldn't be to bad of an option, as he could be a utility IF and back up Reyes because of his injury problems. Then maybe just throw in Wandy or one of those many young B Pot prospects you guys have and it could work. Sanchez should be MLB ready whenever you'd want him to be... 21 YO, 72 OVR(pretty sure thats it, maybe 71?) A pot and pretty damn good.Last edited by KingFry; 05-23-2014, 11:14 AM.Comment

That's just me though, if you value relievers higher than I do, and really like Dominguez, go for it. Just scrap the Byrd/Mayberry idea.Comment

Playing as the cardinals, what would it take for me to haul in CarGo from the Rockies? Looking for fair and realistic. I'd like some input from Rockies fans cause I want to make sure that CarGo would realistically be moved.
I want to keep Taveras off of the table. (If I want to get rid of him, I'd might as well go for a bigger haul like Stanton.)
For starters: Matt Adams, Lynn/Kelly/Jamie Garcia, Piscotty, Marco Gonzalez? Not sure what else I could throw in to get a deal done.Comment

If you like that deal, go with it. It's certainly not bad, but I think you could do a little better than Dominguez. Sure he throws nearly 100MPH, but he's just a reliever, and a C prospect in the game (not even a high one). I'd get another B out of the Dodgers, like Anderson or Reed.

30-team control allows you to control every aspect you'd like to, among other things making the type of realistic moves you mentioned. I'd opt for 30-team control and never look backFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

I could be wrong, but I feel as though Pineda would have to be included to return to Seattle. Nova and Williams really do not bring much in my opinion. Keep in mind I am a Yankee fan myself.

Thanks for confirmation about this feature! I researched it a bit and started one a couple hours ago! Been able to make sure some trades haven't gone through that shouldn't of and made some other moves that were needed, good to know from a vet that I didn't waste my time.

yeah i agree with Pineda....the Yanks system doesn't have enough pieces to acquire someone like WalkerSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Realistically there is absolutely no package possible that would enable the Yankees to acquire Walker. The Yanks have a putrid farm system and their only players with high end trade value are Ellsbury and Tanaka. The Mariners had Pineda: they traded him to the Yankees.Comment
