I think it is radical that at 72 you still enjoy gaming I would not worry to much about the pitch speed. Heck I am 39 I am thinking 5 sounds great!!! I tend to keep the catcher cool with as much as I fan at the dish.

Funny... I'm almost 41, and I have my pitch speed at 6, and have even contemplated going higher. Different strokes for different folks I suppose...

When I was a kid, the way I played a baseball game was with a pencil and piece of chalk. I swung the pencil and if the piece of chalk went over the bed it was a home run. I kept score, batting averages, etc. in a notebook.

This is heaven for me, playing baseball with The Show 14, best overall baseball game I ever saw or played. I would like to see more stats shown, and hopefully before I'm 80 years old

And yes, I have pitch speed at 5, and proud of it, and making contact, even getting hits!

I also had to drop my pitch speed to 5 if 5 represents the number of clicks to the LEFT on the slider. I just looked I I suppose I have it at 5 as well.

So the good news is your playing like your in your 30's Way to go

No more Chalk and Pencils for you my friend!!

Great stuff! I did the same thing, but with baseball cards, and a penny. The outfield wall was Encyclopedias. I toss the penny from the card on the mound, and hit the penny with the batter card. I kept stats, home run leaders etc...I even had an All Star game. Many summer nights, up in my bedroom doing that. Good memories.

He checked my hand and eye coordination, checked my vision, checked my right arm (I throw right-handed) and gave me an EKG after taking my blood pressure. He then gave me the okay to play with DD, and I was so happy you have no idea.

One thing though, he did ask me if I had a Will made out and burial plans. After hearing that, I was scared. He then laughed and said, "Go make a fool of yourself." I asked him why he thought I was making a fool of myself. He said, "At your age you should be playing cards, not baseball."

Well, that got me mad, and I asked him if he played The Show. He said he often plays it with his son. I gave him my PSN name and said you and or your son can look me up and we'll see who should be playing cards.

So I take it dynamic difficulty eliminates sliders and just adjusts things under the hood the more you play?

                    Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

I just got the game. Played 3 exhibition games and won all 3 with DD.

First game was like 14-2 with me homering 4-5 times in the first few innings. It went up to Veteran pretty fast.

Next game I used the Angels vs the Cubs and won 5-1, although I felt like I was still hitting well. Pitching only went up to Veteran, although I pretty much dominated both games. Hitting went up to AS at the end.

Third game I used Detroit vs Minnesota. I won 10-1. Pitching nor hitting moved any, but pitching is about to go up to Veteran+ and hitting is still on AS.

It doesn't eliminate sliders by itself, although if you get the results you're looking for you may not need them. You can still absolutely use sliders if you want and it won't cause DD to reset or anything. And it only adjusts one thing - the overall difficulty level for hitting and pitching (seperately).

I'm coming up on a very important time for this DD test - I hit All-Star pitching, and got shelled in the first two innings for 6 runs. And at the same time I hit a slump at the plate that knocked me down to --- Progress on HOF. All of this in one game. That's dangerously close to a demotion, and it would be a shame for that to happen after these amazing results I've been getting for 9 games on HOF hitting.

It's just the principle of the whole thing that bothers me - I can certainly just switch to normal HOF and not have to deal with it. But I'm trying to give dynamic a fair try, and that kind of thing is what will just kill it for me in terms of playing it through a season.

But what if you're actually an AS+ ability player?

If you're sure you're not, there may be a specific area where you're struggling that can be compensated by a slider tweak that could bypass the demotion all together (say you're striking out too much you could drop pitch speed. Or you're not walking enough and you could drop strike frequency, etc).

And if you're truly too good for AS you'll get promoted in no time too.

I'm actually hoping next year that the game incorporates other statistics to fine tune specific sliders once DD stabilizes. For instance, let's say they coded a 15 game stabilization of OPS; meaning it's still dynamic for 15 games. Once you stay on one level for this set amount of time, I'd love to see BB/9 and K/9 looked at subtly within a three year spread of real baseball high and lows.

I have more ideas on how they could implement this but I think you catch my drift. LOL!

I am pretty sure I will roll with Dynamic Difficulty and make a few changes from Armor&Swords sliders. IE feilder speed/reaction.

What changes have you all made?

I used to "play baseball" with dice when I was a kid in the 80's. Your and Cavicchi's conversation actually jogged my memory because I just remembered it. It's crazy how far we've come.

I'm think I'm using the same version you're using... A&S + Marino's PS3 sliders and I'm having great results. We're also using those in my online franchise and so far so good there, as well. I noticed that Marino just posted a new PS4 set, I may give those a go sometime. I'm also intrigued with what I'm hearing about 0 speed and 10 reaction for fielding, but for now I'm sticking with what I have.

How is that working out with SB Frequency at 8 and SB Ability at 0? On the surface it looks like stealing would not be very successful.
