    Game 3

Only 1 HR the first 2 games. 6 total in game 3. Hosmer got it started with a solo shot in the 1st. Perez followed with a solo HR of his own in the 2nd. Then Hosmer went long again followed by a 2 run shot from Gordon in the 3rd. Ventura had a pretty good night. only ER he gave up was on a Jay Bruce HR in the 2nd. 3 runs allowed total thanks to a Colon error.

Do or die time for Cincy. Danny Duffy (1-1, 4.91) vs Rasiel Iglesias (1-1, 5.25) in game 4.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Lost 2 out of 3 to the Reds. We are now tied with the Marlins atop the Wildcard standings and 2 1/2 games behind the Brewers in the Central.

Next up is a 4 game series with the Rockies which is going to be interesting. We traded Peter Bourjos, Ronnie Williams (SP 19 year old prospect) and Nick Greenwood (SP L 18 year old prospect) to the Rockies for Nolan Arenado. The idea is that Arenado will play 3B, Carpenter will move to 2B and Wong will be optioned to Memphis in an attempt to make him a better hitter (hitting .230) on the year. I'm also going to have him play SS to see if he can manage that position as well as leadoff.

I spent the entire month of July debating on making a move and Arenado is one that was available. So I spent 2 weeks debating this trade, going back and forth with the Rockies to see what would work. I feel as if I didn't give up a whole lot since we have so much depth at Starting Pitching and Bourjos more than likely wouldn't have been resigned in the offseason due to us having upcoming talent for CF. Arenado is a one year contract so if this doesn't work out and he just blows up, we aren't out a whole lot and can go back to what we started with.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

I'm running a Braves franchise with Legendary free agents and ignore budgets on. I played the first maybe 5 games with Alberto Callaspo at 3B and Cristian Bethancourt at C. They both struggled mightily, and I've never been a Callaspo fan. Therefore, I released Callaspo and optioned Bethancourt to Gwinnett, then signed Michael Jack Schmidt and Johnny Bench. Entering play against the Phils, Atlanta is 12-3 and 1st in the NL East.

          Lineup

          EY Jr CF
          Nick Markakis RF
          Freddie Freeman 1B
          Mike Schmidt 3B
          Johnny Bench. C
          Jonny Gomes LF
          Jace Peterson 2B
          Andrelton Simmons SS
          Pitcher's spot

          Rotation

          Julio Teheran
          Alex Wood
          Shelby Miller
          Eric Stults
          Trevor Cahill

          Bullpen

          Cody Martin
          Juan Jaime
Lefty middle reliever whose name I can't remember
          Brandon Cunniff
          Jim Johnson
          Luis Avilan
          Jason Grilli

I don't plan on using my pen much, as I prefer my starters to go at least 7 when possible, with complete games coming pretty regularly when we have enough of a lead, or the starter is tossing a shutout. I also don't plan on sitting my position players much. The fewest anyone will play is 145 games, barring injury. EY Jr. is hitting over .300 with 3 inside-the-park homers, including a pair in one game. Markakis is hitting .270, Freeman is struggling, Schmidt is tearing the cover off the ball. Bench is off to a slow start. I started off with Kelly Johnson in left, but then decided that I needed a lefty bat off the bench besides Pierzynski. Gomes took over a few games ago. Peterson's just over .200 with 6 doubles. Simmons is hitting .290. The pitching staff is doing an excellent job of helping their own cause, as I think everybody at least has an RBI or 2. Pitching is mainly good, as Stults is the only one to throw a clunker to this point.

Twitter update sounds cool, I will be sure to keep an eye out for this. Good luck.

As for me, I'm just underway with a Rays franchise following the release of the v2 rosters... already taken the first two games against Baltimore. Pitcher well with Archer in the opener, not so well with Odorizzi in Game 2 but got the bats going. Love hitting with Souza.

Split a 4 game series with the Rockies. Nolan Arenado had a great 2 games for us as he clubbed 2 homeruns and 6 RBI's. He also was responsible to two web gems at the hot corner.

We still trail the Brewers by 2 1/2 games in the Central. We are tied with the Marlins for the wildcard as we lead the Pirates by 1 1/2 games.

Next is a 3 game series against the Reds in Great American Ballpark.

                  Congratulations, that's awesome.

Corey Dickerson was the only member of my Rockies to make the ASG. The NL lost 8-2. My Rockies are 49-40. Tulowitzki has returned and is playing well. Arenado is out for the season with a torn MCL. Tyler Matzek also went down with a multi-month injury. I have a half game lead on the Giants for the 2nd WC spot but I'm 3rd in the NL West.

Horrible official scoring in a game against the Phillies. Shelby Miller pitching to Jeff Francoeur, dropped third strike. Bench throws it into RF. The two runners already on plus Frenchy come around to score. E2. The runs should all be unearned, right? So far, nope. Current score is 10-4 good guys, and all 4 Philly runs are earned, according to the official scorer. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?!

n my fantasy drafted Jay career, had yordano Ventura take a no no into the 9th. Struck out the first two. Thennnnn Jon Jay smacks a triple then Cuddyer a double. Luckily that was it as Ventura proceeded to strike out his 9th to end the game and the victory against Tampa.

Got my first ever no hitter in this game. I'm playing as the Cubs, and Chris Tillman was so very good against the Dodgers. It would have been a perfect game, except he walked a guy with two outs in the 9th.

After losing four in a row, we've won seven (I sim two for every one I play). The big series was road sweep of the Cardinals, which opened up a division lead of 3.5 for us at the halfway mark. 45-38 overall.

Biggest moment of the season so far: Cardinals have owned us up to this point, and Wainwright is brilliant. I've got the weak singles in 6 innings and I'm down 2-0. In the 7th, he walks Baez and hits Fowler. Finally in business. Cardinals replace Wainwright with a flamethrower, and both Dinorfia and Soler go down swinging. Rizzo comes up, and after going down 0-2 on two perfect fastballs at the knees, fouls off 8 pitches before depositing the ball in the CF bleachers. We hold on for a 3-2 win and maybe the monkey is off our back. It was also an awakening for Rizzo. He's still only hitting .265, but he has 14 RBIs in his last 8 games and has driven in a run in the last 6.

Just optioned Michael Pineda to AAA after another dreadful start against the Marlins. I've picked up Rafael Soriano to take the place of David Carpenter who was also optioned. Ivan Nova is on his way back from Tommy John and could start in the series I have against the Astros.

We lost 2 out of 3 in a big series against the Brewers. We had a chance to tie ourselves for first with a sweep but ended up dropping from 3 to 4 games back. We just couldn't drive in runners. And our bullpen wasn't as solid as it had been.

We are now 4 behind the Brewers in the Central and hold the 2nd wildcard spot 1 1/2 behind the Marlins and up 3 1/2 on the Pirates.

Next up is 3 at home against the Pirates. Hopefully our offense will show up in this series.
