Interesting. Is this with SCEA rosters or third party rosters? I don't sim and I'm still in my first year of manage mode but my first draft netted a couple solid position players who should progress into very good hitters.

Regarding progression, I have seen a couple young pitchers jump up significantly. I suspect performance related progression is the culprit. Perhaps it will be adjusted in the final patch.

Made it to the playoffs in my franchise
Sonny Gray started ALDS game 1 (on long rest, skipped last regular season start) and then game 4 on three days rest. In game 1 he was pulled in the 6th inning, don't know pitch count but it was ~85. Game 4 I pulled him after 5 innings and about 70 pitches. Then he started ALCS game 2 on full four days rest. Started the game at about 40% stamina. After 32 pitches got the "Gray getting tired message" and in the 4th inning got "Gray out of energy"

On full rest my ace could only pitch 4 innings. Very frustrating playing a full season then having this happen in the playoffs

Sounds like this "feature" facilitated the crap out of your 4 man rotation.

Two ideas to potentially better execute this idea

          1. Large stamina boost on 4th day of rest
          2. Slower post game stamina replenish when starter goes over 5 2/3 innings

Solid ideas, but I don't think any ideas are needed at all.

If the user has his franchise setup for competitive balance, the innings pitched and other pitching stats will realistically reflect facing the talented hitters that playoff lineup are full of.

If you're franchise is set up to win each game 15-0, and you want 3 CGSO's from your ace, fill your boots, it's not hurting anyone.

They just need to change it back to how it was. It was fine. No one was complaining.

This is my biggest gripe with all of this. There was no reason to even attempt to make a change. People that wanted things to play realistically were playing things realistically already.

Furthermore, IF the player was able to abuse a 3-man rotation (which I do NOT believe was even possible), that is evidence of a flaw in the core stamina system. The proper response would have been to tweak the core stamina system, not to throw a landmine into the playoffs and call it a day.

Exactly.... Would like an explanation how this 'feature' Is meant to work and is better than what we had before... Because quite clearly it is broken

Have anyone associated with SCEA said a word recently about this?

They've already given their stance, quite clearly....what else is there to say?

If you want to hear about if/how the design is going to change for next year, don't count on it - you're not going to hear about future plans this early.

They sure pulled a boner on this one, glad to see the community have said their piece. It's ironic this happened the year after the greatest post season pitching performance ever by Madison bumgarner who threw a ton

In my same franchise, Scott Kazmir started game 2 of the ALDS, then on full rest started game 5. That game he started with diminished stamina and only pitched 5 innings. Now after 5 days of rest, it's game 4 of the ALCS and he's only at about 75% stamina and I have to bring my 5th starter back into the rotation

Bumping this thread cause it continues to annoy me.

I have an Ace SP in RTTS. He pitched game 1 and after 5 days rest he wasn't asked to pitch game 5. The team lost the series.

He has a 99 stamina rating, I'm not sure what his durability rating is but it's up there with the other aces in the league.

                            This is just dumb

I agree that the decision to implement stamina this way is a headscratcher at best.

Just started playoffs in year 4 of a carry-over from last year's game. My ace pitched 7 strong innings in game 1 but still had around 30% stamina when I took him out. Luckily, I won the series in 4 games because his stamina before game 4 was still below 50% so there's no way he would have fully recovered it all in time for game 5 if it was played.

Now I'm ready to start game 1 of the ALCS and his stamina is still below 75% after 6 full days of rest since his start in game 1 of the ALDS.

I know Ramone popped in here and said something about how it is supposed to help facilitate a 4 man rotation but I just can't see how that could be possible with this implementation. It looks more like it is forcing you to use a 6 man rotation which is just mind-boggling.

This exact same thing happened to me with Tillman. I managed to win the ALCS, but my rotation was shot all to hell when the world series started. Managed to take it to six game, but by ace only pitched one game in the series. Just an awful experience, and kinda soured me on this years game. Haven't really played it much at all.
