First I wanna say thanks everyone for the messages for following my franchise so far this season but we are at our fist obstacle...catcher. The Rangers put Chirinos on the trade block and I am looking at possibly snatching him up. My catchers are terrible with Castro and Gimenez. I have no top prospects even close to the cusp of helping my club this year and Ben Rortvedt is 3-4 year away. Chirinos is not a big name player so I was hoping I could snag him for cheap. I was thinking of giving away A prospect like Adalberto Mejia but would that be too much? Also, Polanco is playing like complete crap and Nick Gordon may be up sooner then I expected. Again, thanks for following the franchise fellas! Let me know what you think about the trade.

Started my Tampa Bay Rays franchise yesterday with the OSFM rosters coming out. I signed Morneau and Willingham to get some extra hitting to the line up. Not sure what direction I'll go, but if we struggle a fire sale will ensue! I created a thread in the dynasty forum if you guys want to follow that in a little more depth....

Started my Tampa Bay Rays franchise yesterday with the OSFM rosters coming out. I signed Morneau and Willingham to get some extra hitting to the line up. I'm looking for a recommendation for a team to use for a 30 team control. Trying to find a young building team with some good young pitching. I like the Phillies but as a Sox fan I don't want to have Buchholz lol. Not worried about who the fielders are as long as there are a few guys I can trade for the rebuild. Any suggestions will help.

Padres. Tons of young big pitching talent (Espinoza, quantrill, Lauer, perdomo, Thompson, Smith) but they are far way (IRL). All in high A or low A ball with the exception of Perdomo.

Stupid question but if someone can help...

can't figure out why the hell dh is appearing in my mets opening day lineup at citi field in my franchise....do I have to redo the entire franchise set up to get this fixed or can i go into an options somewhere and click whatever needs to be changed? So frustrated!

After our opening 7 game opening home stand, the Tampa Bay Rays sit at 3-4. We've won the two games Chris Archer has started, 3-0 and 2-1, but the rest of the new makeshift rotation hasn't faired so well. James Shields pitched a gem on his return to pick up our other win, but was brought back down to earth by giving up 8 in 4 innings in his second start. Blake Snell pitched well for 5 innings but I left him in for one hitter too many and Josh Donaldson ruined his night with a two out, 3 run homer that sealed the game. Other returnee Matt Garza struggled through 5 innings in another comfortable loss, while Andriese lost a close one 4-3.

Hitting wise we've been fairly sedate, averaging about 3 runs a game through the first 6 games, before a wild 7-9 loss in the series decider against the Blue Jays. Surprisingly it's been the platoon guys at first base, Rickie Weeks and LoMo who've been the biggest threat so far, along with fellow platooners Norris and Dio Navarro behind the plate. Kiermaier is off to a hot start stealing 4 bases already, but we've run into trouble after fellow speedster Mallex Smith tore his finger ligament stealing 2nd and will miss 1-2 months.

Overall though, pretty happy with the team so far. The returning guys of Shields, Garza, Upton, Navarro and Rodney are keeping what will certainly be a rebuilding year interesting and the sliders I've settled on seem to be getting me the right balance of play.

Can only change it when you first start. Really wish we could change it whenever we want. Or do it like NBA 2k where some rules can change throughout franchise.

So I wanna start my franchise tonight, with osfm v1.5. Question is, do I need to have 30 team control on in order to set all the 40 man rosters after spring training ?

You can edit the players, remember. Go to Manage Rosters and select the player, there's an option to edit. I use it when I know somebody doesn't have a position listed that they actually play in real life. I'm adding 3B for Torres because he's going to get reps there in Trenton. I don't envision Mateo playing third any time soon, though; they're gonna keep him up the middle in hopes that he can pair with Gregorius, Castro, or Gleyber there down the line.

This is very true, although I was under the impression that neither were going to get much reps at 3b and both were seen as middle infielders for the future.

Regardless, will keep that in mind if I dont get Machado in Free Agency
