Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread

Well my Tribe that started 11-2 is. Now sitting at 15-7. The starting pitching has still been solid but the bullpen, outside of Andrew Miller, has been average at best. Offense has also dropped off. I'm leaving too many on base and haven't had many clutch hits lately.

Idk what happen I went from being unable to buy a hit to having my best ever hitting game on any version of the Show. 19 runs and 27 hits. They game before went deep into extra innings and I only had like 6 hits.

When you have a rule 5 pick (IRL, not drafted from the game) do you guys try to leave them on your roster all year and enforce rules like they were in place or do you send them down and make your own roster

IE, Padres have 3 on their team IRL, but don't have the rule 5 rules in OSFM so I'm able to send them down without penalty.

                        Sooo.

I played about 10 games now and lost every game with at least 2 runs up in the 9th. Is it comeback cheese or am I just bad at closing out? It feels like it doesn't matter which pitches I use or where I locate them and they are hitting just everything. Really takes the fun away right now.

                          It's not "comeback cheese"

Are you using the Batter Analysis to see how you e pitched hitters all game? This way you're not pitching a pattern.

From the pause screen select STATS and the BATTER ANALYSIS

It's not that I don't think I pitch bad sometimes, but if I do why doesn't it have an effect on the other innings? And like I said, it's more like every direction I choose goes nowhere where I put it. I play with Classic Pitching, so there is not much I could do wrong I guess.
But anyway, I hate to be that guy. If someone would post that in the NBA2k area I would argue too that you just have to play better. I will use the Batter Analysis going forward, maybe it will help my game.

Because don't get me wrong, I really enjoy this game. After I had the classic problem that I couldn't find a team for franchise mode I finally made up my mind. After a few games with the Pirates I had the feeling that they not really a team for me. I really can't explain it either, it just didn't *click*.

So I researched again and somehow I fell in love with the Mariners immediately. Never won anything. Good looking uniforms. Okay park. And Leonys Martín, whom I loved playing on the Rangers. Now, with OSFM released, I restarted today and now I'm 3 games in with 1-2 against the Astros: Game 1 was an 8-10 with 4 runs in the 9th for the Astros. I really struggled with Hernandez, who had 7H and 5R in 4 Innings. After that it was really fun, until the weird 9th.

2nd was a 4-7 with the first runs coming in at the 4th inning with 4 for the Astros. Then 3 in the 8th. So I was kind of happy not losing in the 9th at least one time now.

So, sorry for complaint. I guess I just have to figure out the game again.
