Re: MLB The Show 18 Twitch Stream Starting Now - Franchise Mode
The blog was very disappointing, the stream however I thought was pretty good. Very excited about the retirement logic, that should have a great impact on rtts and long-term Franchises. Also hopefully the same closer logic had been applied to lineups as I'd like to see backups with good stats good thrown into the lineup more. Good A.I logic is needed for any good single player mode.

Yeah, the "it will never be perfect so you can't complain about it" argument doesn't hold much weight with me, as that's true of literally everything in computer game and is just an excuse to not even try. Trade logic will never be just like real life, but it can still improve a lotLast edited by RogerDodger; 03-17-2018, 05:06 PM.Comment

If they were to focus on one thing for franchise for next year, I would want it to be in depth history of our leagues. Being able to look back at rosters that over/underperformed, best players from a certain league or team during a certain time, award winners from many years past would be a great feature. It really helps when trying to build a narrative of where our team is and where they came from.

Then again I've come around on the sixty bucks thing. Hell I spend 60 bucks taking my wife and daughter to the movies for two hours of entertainment. So when you think about that, even a Show with nothing more than updated rosters and a few small tweaks is an entertainment bargain for hours and hours of game playComment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Twitch Stream Starting Now - Franchise Mode
I'm suffering from some serious baseball fever, usually happens this week as I get ready for the Show, my fantasy draft and then opening day.
After the latest SDS stream I could no longer play my '18 franchise because the new interface is so crisp and beautiful, so I decided to try OOTP 18 to try and scratch the itch.
Game is friggin amazing. Everything I'd love to see one day in a console franchise is in this game. It would never take the place of the Show because I'm not a sim-only type player. I love the gameplay more than any part of the game but as a baseball junkie, I love the off-the-field stuff.
I feel like I have to find a way to incorporate OOTP into my Show franchise this year. Not sure how yet but I've been brainstorming. I don't expect the Show to compare with a text-only type game, it's just not realistic but now I can see why a lot of the franchise faithful loves OOTP so much.Comment

... if the servers are **** again, man the **** storm that will be haha.
I hate to be That Guy, as I usually try to think positive, and esp. considering I dont play online, but I really feel Sony has put all their eggs in one basket, pinning the success & future of the series on this years online capabilities. If the servers arent reliable I believe they will lose a significant portion of their audience, a portion that spends more money on the Show than us franchise/season mode only guys. Its risky and I sure as hell hope it pays off. At least its been a great ride but considering the Show has lasted longer than 2K baseball series, EA's MVP/Triple Play series, High Heat, All-Star Baseball & 989's original MLB series, plus the fact 2 of my other all-time favorite series in EA's Nascar & NCAA Football both eventually succumbed, I know all good things must end.
