Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.

From there you have 2 options :
      1) Change Archetype/Position to address your favorite team needs
      2) Edit Roster to create a hole at your 2 favorite positions with your team. Example : Want to be the next RedSox CF or 2B? Move BradleyJR to LF (He'll still play CF in MLB since is 2nd position is OF) and create a Wizard 2B. Since Pedrioa is getting Old, R-Sox will draft you at 2B and since there's a hole at CF they will have you play there by May 7th in AA! Then once Pedroia retires and you are in your 3rd season in MLB you will have the opportunity to request to be mooved back at 2B or stay in CF.

      Skectchy but it works...
I've never tried to go to the Indians. Even when you could pick your team. Its part of the fun of rtts. I like not having control of where I go. I use the Indians in my franchise. Thats good enough for me. RTTS gives me that chance to be on another team and see other stadiums and get a different view of the game.

Same here!!! Still in AA, 1st year, as CF in the Oakland AS organization... Not my first choice, but hopefully I'll make it to the Playoff once before Free Agency... If I can make it to the Division series as an As, I'll try to stay there as long as I can... If I don't see any post-season action, look for me to sign with a powerhouse for cheap money to go all the way!

BTW my AA pitcher was just forced into being a CP. I kept telling my advisor that I didn't like it, but the game just would not take no for an answer. I am now the closer for the next couple of weeks which kind of messes with my RTTS Shohei Ohtani thing I had going. Oh well, don't mess with the man I guess. I see a trade in his future. LOL
I play full games too it only for debut games, all-star games, opening day, and playoff games.

Wow, that's impressive. I don't have the patience to do that for a video game, especially with how many RTTS players I have and also doing a Franchise mode.

It's interesting how much you seem to get traded. I asked for a trade off the Mets but they refuse to trade me. It is weird though b/c my 99 everything SS was on Arizona and leading them to a good record and they just up and traded me to the Twins. Fortunately, my CP got traded after a couple of trade requests. I was stuck on Oakland for a while (they were not getting a lot of save opportunities), but now I'm on the Red Sox.

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread

I decided to play a lot of fast games with only my appearances with my new Padres pitcher to get through the 2017 season and move onto the 2018 season fairly soon where I will then slow down and take my time playing full games. I am in the 3rd week of August and have I made about 7 starts since the All Star break when I joined the team. I have a 0-3 record, but I should be 2-3 as the team blew two games after I left the games with the lead and my ERA is 3.36. I started off pitching very well the first few starts, but the last couple of starts I have given up some unfortunate HRs. I have also struggled at the plate as I am only batting something like .089 and finally got my first hit in my last game. It was a double, but it came within only a few feet of it being a HR as it hit off the base of the outfield wall at Petco. I also have one walk to go with this one hit. Of course my pitcher's contact and power attributes are maxed out at only 35. So there is only so much I can do. But at least I am hitting.

I kind of want to stay on the Padres in 2018, however it does not look like they will even win 60 games in 2017. The team does not generate a whole lot of offense and their fielding is horrendous. So I also sort of want to be traded at seasons end, but I need to be careful what I ask for as I could get traded to an AL team and lose the ability to hit in most games.

I use to do this once I hit the majors. So ya, 6 game months (hated that part) LOL. It was a lot of fun playing that way. I had a first baseman, so just about every other play I was involved. Franchise and rosters are so messed up, I may go back to this. Anyways, slipping off topic, I loved playing every minute and the fun part was not knowing (in the field) when you were going to get a play your way.

I believe you and I are also MoM players and I never knew how much fun RTTS could be until I finally decided to give it a try this year. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy MoM. But with full length RTTS games I feel like I am actually participating in a baseball game and yes playing in the field during full length games is a heck of a lot more challenging when you don't know if the ball will be hit your way or not.

Just finshed my Age 26 season with the Red Sox. Had a career year with an OPS above 1.000. I won AL MVP along with other awards. My 2nd MVP, and first AL one. I decided to sign a 3 year extension with Boston. We got eliminated in the Alds.

When fielding post-pitch in RTTS, Is there a way to move your player laterally while keeping them faced forward; a bounding side-to-side type movement?

Playing outfield, can be difficult to field hard-hit dropping line drives because player movement sometimes causes me to overrun the ball’s trajectory.

Also would like some sort of indicator for balls bounced off the wall. Fielding those can be awkward.

I really wish they would put management into the game like when playing franchise. Perfect steal situation, and the guy on 2nd (me on first and he has a 87/77) and I steal and he doesnt advance with me (like in past years). But then I get on base (no paticular situation) and the guy behind me bunts and if someone is on 2nd then, then they take off.

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread

I went back into my MLB 17 Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher save file this morning to not reject the position change request and to become their AAA closer and see if at some point in the 2017 season if they would swap me back to the starter role. But several things happen that I simply do not understand about RTTS.

                          1) I was immediately promoted to the Show to be the Pirates closer. I was not given the opportunity to tell management I didn't think I was ready. Why was I promoted into being one of the most important pitchers in the organization when there were plenty of pitchers in the bullpen who are higher rated and more experienced than me. It's not like I have a 100+ mph fastball. It's only 94 mph and I am still working on my control. Red Flag #1

                          2) I did not want to sim the results of these games because if I ended up keeping the save file I want to know that any MLB career stats were the results of my play on the field not simmed games. So I played all my closer appearances from the All Star break to the end of the 2017 season which was about 20+ appearances. Most of them were save opportunities but a few weren't. I finished the season 0-3 with an ERA of just under 4.00 and about 15 saves. Yes blown saves happen even to the best. But look at my ERA (I was pitching on HoF which if not mistaken means I was actually pitching at the Legend level). I clearly was not ready to be a closer in the majors as a 18 year old kid. Perhaps a closer in AAA, but not the Show. Red Flag #2

                          3) Then during the off season I talked to my agent and told him I was not happy with my closer role, I still wanted to be a starter and his response was basically "You are in no position to challenge this" and it is true upon inspecting the Pirates 2018 rotation, all five guy are clearly better than I am. So I can accept that I am not ready to be a MLB starter in their organization yet. With that said, the Pirates have resigned me to be their closer again. WTF? There are at least two other guys in the bullpen who are better than me, so why am I the closer. Red Flag #3

                          4) I don't get it. Why is SDS forcing me to be something I do not want to be. If I want to be playing in the MLB, then yes perhaps make me a long reliever or setup guy in the Show. But not the closer and why am I not given the option to stay in AAA and develop my skills as a starter. This is bunk. Red Flag #4

Oh and this in MLB 17 not 18. However clearly a lot of the same RTTS scripting is shared between the games as the exact same position change request, exact same promotion and exact same trade if you reject the position change occurs on the same dates in the two games. Outside of the different themes for the two games menu screens, the two games did the exact same thing.

So I guess it's back to the last place San Diego Padres for me in MLB 18.

                              Hey Folks!

I've been lurking on this site for years getting tips and such and only recently created an account. Since I do not have privileges to start a new thread I thought that I'd share this with you all here.

I love historical stat tracking with final standings, league leaders, playoff results, etc. and since the game lacks this feature I've created my own spreadsheet. I spiced it up using team logos, playoff logos, etc. to give it some visual appeal. Since I've gotten a lot out of reading threads and using the OSFM rosters I thought I would contribute something to the community. I plan on using this in both RTTS and franchise.

Feel free to edit it to your liking if you feel the need to do so.

                              Enjoy!
