Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

I'm the Pirates what would I have to give up to get Ryan Schimpf, Tony Cingrani, Cole Hamels, Tanner Roark. I've decided to try and make the most out of this season, i dumped Freese, Nova, and Polanco for prospects but my team has some depth, looking for a top starter and power hitter (hence Schimpf/Hamels) Also a long shot but what would it take to get Nelson Cruz (contract sizes aren't an issue for me)

Twins would be an interesting one, and move Sano to DH or 1B. They have much more to work with here.

I will probably do a jays rebuild so I would definitely trade Donaldson.

If I traded him to the Mets, you said Smith + something decent would someone like Marcos Molina (Mets #8) be too much? Too little? Could I go any higher to someone like Thomas Szapucki (Mets #5)?

The Cardinals trade seems pretty straightforward. I like O’Neill a lot (mainly because he is Canadian) and is a good fit for left field. Is there any way I could get him + Andrew Knizler? Knizler is cards #9 prospect (catcher) but since they have Carson Kelly, do you think I could get Knizler? Cards really need a third baseman so this is probably the best fit.

      Thanks

So I think I can build the Braves into a decent contender given the prospects they have to deal. I want to get a nice No. 1 or No. 2 starter. I've seen the trade value for an Archer deal, but what would a Braves package for Syndergaard look like?

Also, I've always really liked pitching with Taijuan Walker. What would Arizona expect in return from the Braves if they are willing to move him?

What's your opinions on all of this? (I'll tell you who/what I've traded so far as well).
I'm attempting to turn the Cubs into a long-standing top-line spot, aiming towards consistent returns to the Playoffs over going through a one-year power run to it.

Already I've traded Addison Russell and Jason Heyward to the Nationals for Trea Turner.
I traded Ben Zobrist and a minor leaguer for Avisail Garcia of the White Sox to balance out my lack of a Right Fielder.

And finally Chris Gimenez and two Minor Leaguers for Jorge Solar, and signed Mike Moustakas (this was before the update that put him back on the Royals.) Through all of that, I cut my budget in half, but I'm still looking to make more updates to increase my depth and long-term contracts without cutting into my core.

Of my decisions so far, how do they stand to you, and do you have any more suggestions going forward?

I know Syndergaard would be crazy steep and maybe unrealistic, but with the depth of arms the Braves have, would a Wright-Anderson-Gohara package not strike the Mets' fancy?

Honestly, you made out like a bandit in all of those deals. They help your club, but don’t really make sense for the other teams as they are getting worse both on and off the field.

Heywards contract is so bad (not sure if you’re using real life or SCEA contracts, at which point I can’t recall what he’s making) that you’d have to move either a valuable roster player or top prospects just to get rid of him and expect nothing in return. The Nats are also downgrading from Turner to Russell and Heyward doesn’t make sense for them.

For the White Sox trade, it doesn’t make sense for a rebuilding White Sox club to deal one of their main trade chips for a declining veteran.

As for the Royals deal, I don’t think much of Soler, but I can’t see the Royals giving up on him for a minor league depth catcher, especially when they just gave up Wade Davis for him just over a year ago.

Also not sure that there is a fit for Moustakas on the Cubs unless you are playing a franchise that has a DH in the NL.

You have no doubt upgrades the Cubs, but if it’s realism you’re going for, you might have to correct a few of the trades a little bit.

                Just my opinion.

None of those trades or signings would ever happen in real life as things currently stand, especially the trea turner trade since the Nats would never want to take heyward's contract in that scenario.

But hey its a virtual franchise so what you say goes.

                    Noah isn't happening.

Kyle Wright/Mike Soroka + Kolby Allard + Alex Jackson for Archer + Colome.

There's not a chance in **** that the Nationals would deal Trea Turner for Jayson Heyward and Addison Russell.

I’m looking to dump Kemp and his salary somewhere.

Hoping to add some depth to the bullpen. Any recommendations?

That could work. When dumping a contract you have to add in a decent to good prospect, and Tate should work.

The Giants may work out. Add themselves another outfielder and a pretty good pitching prospect in that awful farm system.

Highly unlikely you find a suitor without adding a decent prospect to send to a team. There is a reason the Dodgers are still stuck with him.
