2024 White Sox - Off Season, 2025 Spring Training preview

Boston swept the Cubs in the World Series

Playoff MVPs were Andrew Benintendi for Boston and Kyle Schwarber for Chicago

World Series MVP was Nino Almanzar

Notable retirements around the league were Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera. Cabrera making the Hall of Fame.

Another quiet off season around the league. No major FA signings.

Heading into Spring the Chi Sox will have essentially the same roster but have added their #1 Prospect (#9 overall) 23 yr old 77 overall 1B Fernando Villarreal and #2 Prospect (#34 Overall) 23 yr old 75 overall 2B Daniel Paul to 40 man to get a look in Spring. Both are expected to start the season in AAA.

Sox also will be giving at 24 year old Peter Sierra a shot at the #5 spot in the rotation over 38 year old Carlos Carrasco. Sierra (77 OVR) has pitched well the past 2 seasons in the spot starter/long relief role. Carrasco (78 OVR) hasn't done terrible past couple seasons, but did show his age as the season went on in the 2024 season.

Is there a way to bring a starting pitcher in relief in a game where I've burned up my bullpen?

When you're viewing the bullpen, press R1 to cycle between the bullpen pitchers and the starting rotation

I am loving my first ever experience with The Show. I just hit the quarter mark of season 1 and the 2019 Giants are 21-19, 6 games out of first and battling. One thing I've discovered is managing player fatigue in games 1-35 was very easy. But now at game 40 none of my regulars ever fully recover and my bullpen it is even more noticeable. Even a day off won't fully recover my most used pen guys. This has added a new layer of depth to the franchise and the challenge of it is extremely fun. It becomes very important now to have a solid bench and while Steven Vogt has been spectacular and Donovan Solano has been solid the other spots seem to be a revolving door of AAA'ers who I'm mixing and matching in an effort to find production. This ought to make the trade deadline especially exciting if I can stay in contention.

Cardinals take series against Reds finish season 101-61

The Cardinals won Sunday afternoon in Great American Ballpark to take the season's series finale against the Reds. The Cardinals won the Friday opener as well, and finish the season with a record of 101-62 which is the best in the National League and tied for the best in baseball with Orioles.

The Cardinals will wait to see who their opponent will be for the Divisional Series as they will play the winner of the wildcard game between the Cubs and Rockies.

A season after missing the playoffs all together, the Cardinals are the favorites of the National League to get back to the Fall Classic.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
