Yankees Lose 2 Out Of 3 In Toronto, Record is now 102-53
After seemingly having something of a breakthrough in Tampa the Yankees went right back to the way they’ve been playing since the last few days of August losing by scores of 1-2 and 2-11 in games 1 and 2 against the Jays, before getting a desperately needed game 3 win 6-5 in 11 innings.
We did manage to extend our division lead back to 5.5 with that G3 win and will more then likely be able to hold onto the East with 7 games to go, but there’s real reason to be concerned about this team heading into the playoffs. If we take our September kind of play into October, odds are we’re looking at an ALDS exit.
Next: We return to YS to end the regular season with 4 vs the 70-85 Asterisks and the final 3 against the 72-83 Rays. Both teams are eliminated but both would surely love to force a total collapse and bounce us to the WC game.

Devastating News Out Of Cleveland: Ace Mike Clevinger Tears Rotator Cuff
Clevinger is headed for TJ Surgery. He’ll miss the playoff run and likely miss almost all if not all of next season too. Clevinger was having a career year with a 2.61 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 247 K’s, over 193 IP. He was a near lock to secure the AL CY Young. The effects of this are huge.
The 107-49 Indians are still a near lock to win the Central and home field advantage. Cleveland would’ve been the obvious favorite in the AL, but now? Things look a lot more open.
