Say I'm going for arenado and I'm sending back 4 pieces. I'll usually do the 4th as a separate trade and I'll swap a nobody from them

I'm really wanting to pull of an Arenado trade to Philly but I don't want to swindle the Rockies.

PHI gets: Arenado and player X
      COL: gets player 1,2,3
      .
In a separate deal you send player X back to COL for whomever. You can keep doing this as long as the numbers are lopsided. Force trades helps too.

The Braves would not trade Soroka, who is more valuable than Arenado alone. The value doesn't match up.

If you meant Ian Anderson then you're onto something but not Soroka

Looking to get a deal done for a 3B, tired of platooning Diaz with Tsustugo or Wendle and would like some consistency, everyday 3rd basemen.

I have had a look around, and am not aiming for superstar level, just a consistent, good, controllable 3b.

This has led me to stay within the state by going for Brian Anderson.

          What is his value?

He is batting 265 with 1HR and 10RBI in 68 AB's so far. The Marlins have put Ryan Cook and Villars on the block although they are 12-9 to start the season.

What would it take to get it done? I have options at 2nd / SS in the minors with Edwards, Fox, Jones, Brujan or could do something around Honeywell / baz / Banda.

Won't deal Franco or McKay at this point, could also look at Chirinos if you think it worked. Happy to get rid of Diaz as part of the deal?

          Using OSFM rosters!

          Thanks!
You could do Brujan + a lotto ticket or Edwards + Baz + Banda

Looks doable according to the calculator, but I certainly don’t want to underpay and am wondering what the forum says.
Frame it around the Mookie trade. One year of an elite position player got Verdugo and Jeter Downs. So try to come up with a package similar. I think Stott could definitely be the main piece, just have to figure out #2 although Eflin could work

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread

              Hey All,

i'm looking to make another trade in my 30 team control franchise. This time, the Cardinals are looking to acquire some bats at the deadline. They have been great pitching this season, but the bats haven't lit up yet. Here are their rankings as a team: BA (21st), OBP (23rd), SLG (22nd), HR (22nd). They need an infusion of talent into their team, however, their prospects aren't ready just yet. The main part of their team that is struggling is their OF.

I'm looking for them to acquire a package deal of two players who are performing very well this season.

              Corey Dickerson (~23M, 2.4 WAR, .297/.334/.471, 14 HR, 4.7% BB, 21.6% K)
              Jonathan Villar (~16M, 2.5 WAR, .259/.331/.509, 11 HR, 9.2% BB, 28.3% K)

Let me know what you think a type of deal this package could get back. At first thought, I had Gorman or Liberatore in mind, but I think that may be too much.

I went for Edwards A potential headliner , Peter Fairbanks B potential as CP and Brosseau B potential to be there 3B.

Then shipped Yandy Diaz who was batting 305 and B potential to the Braves for Braves number 23 prospect Justin Dean. Braves 3B were struggling and they have plenty speedy OF prospects.

Seems fine to me? Anyone feel I need to adjust?

Fairbanks and Brosseau are most definitely not enough. They are 25 and 26, just appearing in a small MLB stint last year. You're gonna have to redo your deal if you want it to be fair.

Ok fair enough. I thought Edwards was a pretty big headliner for someone who has never hit more than 20 big fly’s. But can add someone to the mix, maybe a SP in the B category?

                    Joe Ryan?

                    Thanks! Appreciate your help

Brian Anderson provides a whole lot of value with his defense. Thats why I gave the option of Brujan and lotto tickets since he is a superior prospect or Edwards and another legit prospect like Baz or Honeywell.

You get to choose one high end prospect or two real good ones.

One good prospect and some filler wasn't what we were thinking.

Thanks! Appreciate it. Not to disagree, but wouldn’t you say in the game Edwards was the better prospect? More premium position too?

That’s what I was going off... understood, maybe the CP isn’t a good enough lottery ticket however

In your game you may be right, I was basing off of the Fangraphs list that has Brujan as a 55fv but Edwards as a 50fv.

A guy in the low minors who is not a sure thing. Some examples of guys traded as lotto tickets that worked out include Mike Cleavinger, Eugenio Suarez & JD Martinez.

So maybe a C potential guy who has some attributes that catch your eye

What do you all think it takes to get Charlie Morton from the Rays? He's in his last year of his deal in 2020 and 36-years old.

I am the Cubs (19-12) in first by 0.5 games in the NL Central and the Rays are 14-18 and sit in third, 5.5 games out of first. Obviously it's early, last day of April, but I need some rotation help.
