What kind of deal will it look like to get Miggy? I am assuming Detroit will trade one of their starting pitchers as well to get back a decent prospect.
Yikes. Not to burst your bubble, but that's the last thing the Marlins would want to do. I get that youre in the mix for the playoffs. But a 30,000,000 cap hit is kinda dumb after unloading everybody they could have paid.

In reality there’s no way any other team touches that Cabrera contract. The Tigers would have to pay you to take him off their hands, as freeing up that massive salary hit would greatly accelerate their rebuild.

I agree nobody in baseball will take on Miggy's contract. The marlins have the payroll and a good young prospects coming up. They would have to package Miggy with one of their better pictures which might work out pretty well for the marlins.

You think a in game trade for Miggy and Fulmer could be had? I agree in real life not a chance in hell will Miggy being anything other than a Tiger until that contract is up.

I don’t think it makes sense for a team like the Tigers to package up anything of real value to mainly just move a bad contract. They aren’t a small market team that would be really desperate to get his contract off the payroll, or in a position where freeing up that money could help them win now. If you won’t take Miggy by himself it makes more sense for Detroit to just ride out the contract while their rebuilding anyway and keep racking up top draft picks till the young talent starts hitting the majors then give up anything to move him.

I see your point however taking just Miggy I wouldn't have to give anything of substance. I figured they would give up a pitcher along with Miggy to get something better back plus they have quite a few really good pitchers coming up.

What do you think I would have to give up to get Miggy by himself then?

If you take all of the contract, you can just choose some scrub in A ball to send them. But I cannot see them trading a real asset on top of Miggy. He's expensive but they don't have a huge amount long term commitments so they would likely rather keep their valuable pitchers or trade them away for real assets

                Miguel Cabrera= -$120.6

To even get back to $0, the tigers would have to give up Mize ($66.7), Boyd ($42.4) and Candelerio ($17.7).

They’re not going to even think about that.

Thanks to his contract he really has zero value on the trade market. The Tigers would jump at the chance to simply unload the rest of that contract. Only way they could get anything of value back is if they ate the vast majority of the remaining salary and then the return probably wouldn’t make it worth doing in the first place.

Clearing that salary without giving anything up would be a huge win for them.

Very true guys, thanks for your thorough inputs. And no way the Tigers trade 3 top prospects plus Miggy just to get rid of his contract, that would be suicide.

I am coming up on the trade deadline so I will be back to see what your thoughts are on some deals in my franchise. Thanks again.

Hey guys, sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place, I just made an account.
Anyways, do you have any ideas of a fair trade for the Padres to get Josh Bell? Or is it too unrealistic with Hosmer's contract?

                      Thanks guys.

The padres certainly have the prospects to get it done, but I’m just not sure where you’d play him. It’s pretty much impossible to get rid of Hosmer (the cost would be overwhelming, and would rip apart that strong farm). You could always bench him, but that seems like a pretty crazy move, especially with Wil Myers already there.

30-team franchise - ignore my avatar, I’m not playing as the Yanks.

CPU Yankees traded Mike Ford to the CPU Rangers for Bubba Thompson (2017 first round pick).

Trade value sim says Thompson is only worth half of Ford. (4.8 vs 2.4).

Rangers are in the race - AL west is super tight mid-June. Guzman having a terrible year at first, slugging under .300. Ford becomes immediate starter in Texas after being stuck behind Voit in AAA with the Yankees.

Guzman’s value is 2.4, so adding him to the trade makes it dead even. Am I wrong in feeling like this is a massive overpay by the Rangers? Ford was never a true prospect despite having some pop. Guzman still has some upside and has an option remaining for 2020. And Thompson as a 1st round pick also has a ton of upside.

                          Thoughts?

This seems like a typical Yankee trade where they take a flier on someone who somehow puts it together when he gets to the Bronx. But it seems like the Rangers are giving too much for Ford.

What do we think 3 months of Starling Marte is worth. He missed 2 months to injury.

He was traded to Dodgers in my Franchise in the off-season. Dodgers season didn't go as planned so trying to recoup some prospects for them.

I think maybe the cardinals could use him depending on where there at. I'm not sure how much hes worth but maybe a B and Lotto?

Any potential trade targets you guys can think of for the Padres? I was thinking it would probably have to be an outfielder or an established starting pitcher.
