You half to have auto fielding on, ball marker off from drifting ball etc i use buttons for fielding etc.

Must be because I have catcher call my pitches so fielding aid in On for me… Really stupid that catcher doing that is under fielding aids or w/e.

Just leave the gd settings alone, nothing was wrong with the setup.

Yeah, have no idea why they put the catcher calling pitches in the fielding aids section. It should be in the pitching page.

Don’t know why they have to take their limited time to fix something that wasn’t broke.

If you dont like the pitch select display or you wanna see batter attributes instead or turn it completely off then go to


1. Go to display.

2. Scroll down to Pitch Select Displays and your options are Pitch descriptions, Batter Attributes and Off.


You can also turn off the batter/hitting controls to have even a more cleaner screen thsn before by.


1. Go under Display.
2. Scroll down to Batter Control Display and your options are Minimal, Off, On.

Something i don’t understand for years. That pitch selection when you’re at bat is still useful to have a look at to refresh your mind on a new pitcher or look at confidence and fatigue of the pitcher. This is an “on-demand” info you can see when pressing R2. But why they’re still displaying “R2 Pitch Types” right in the middle right or left of the screen ?

It’s killing the immersion and anybody who played more than 3 games of the Show in their existence knows to press R2 to get that info. To get rid of it, you have to turn off that option completely.

I don’t understand why a so simple to fix annoyance still there.

But I like to the new option to display batter’s info. Not a big fan of the new pitch selection UI tho.

Anyone else notice the swing feedback info doesnt display when ball is hit anymore?

I like it better this way.

I even went to practice mode into fielding to see if it worked and still see the blue circle. I hope it is fixed by release and it’s just a tech thing.

Ok fellas, after further testing you can pitch with Catcher Call (Fielding Aids on) auto fielding etc. You will see blue ring under player only when you throw the ball. In order to actually see 0 blue ring at all you half to turn on auto throwing.

I can post my entire setup and how I enjoy playing the game and sliders I use that are stat based for real life numbers within stats. Not sure what i might need to adjust fully until i play the full game.

you can get rid of that pesky R2 icon display now.
there is a setting Batter Control Display
OFF is completely off
MINIMAL leaves just the R2 icon on until pitch delivery
and ON there is no R2 icon, all that info is already automatic displayed until pitch delivery

Using Houston’s original 3 step procedure I played an entire game yesterday with no blue circle. Today it’s back. I tried with both teams…no luck.

Something is broke. Not going to worry about it anymore, but it definitely needs attention.

you can get rid of that pesky R2 icon display now.

Are you saying i went on a rant for nothing ?

Just kidding, more seriously I tried it again just to make sure turning it OFF had the same effect as previous iterations. Indeed, if you turn it off, you can’t see pitcher infos. But I really like that info and I think minimal should not display the annoying R2 icon at all. Or leave minimal as is but make it avail with no icon when it’s turned off. Same with check swing by the way. Would like to look at it sometimes but have it out of my view most of the time.

And it’s a bit inconsistent with the rest of the GUI anyway. No icons to pause the game, dpad left or right etc. So why having an icon for the most obvious command.

Ok, did I went on a rant again ?

I pre-ordered still, not a show stopper at all but just something that could enhance the experience and immersion.

I will report it officially to SDS again, like I do every year. One day our kids will play the game without the R2 displayed and will remember grandpa who fought for it all his own life!
