As far as the game being easier….for me I agree with this as I play on Legend with AI contact at 6, power 7, timing 8. With those settings the AI is much more challenging.

I also play MLB20 as well and I play on HOF as Legend is too much for me.
I use classic pitching with catcher calling pitch and location and use timing hitting.

I am one of those guys that want the game to be a grind and challenging. I’m playing with the Royals and currently 2 games below .500. I have been playing since 06 and have yet to win the series and I’m fine with that.

The guy that constantly wins 120 games with the Tigers apparently enjoys it, I would not play as I wouldn’t enjoy it. To each their own. Play ball.

This is the same for me as well. I need to feel as though it is not a forgone conclusion that I will win the title. That is why I enjoy countryboy franchise. Not just his passion which shows but also he is never a lock to win it all. So if I saw he did to me I would be like damn he earned that

      That is correct!

I'm using the Cardinals as well, we finished for the WC in 2024 but lost in the NLDS, in 2025 we didn't even make the playoffs and in 2026 we should win the division as I spent a ton of money on FA for fear of losing my job if we failed to make the playoffs again.

Yes that was a season that was primarily quick managed

          Cubs take series in Bronx

Juan Soto returned to New York for the first time since signing with the Cubs in the offseason. In his return, he increased his MLB leading HR total to 50 and is at the moment paced to challenge Barry Bonds 73 homeruns in 2001.

Soto's homeruns came in games two and three of the series. He hit two in game two to bring his total to 49 and he hit one in game three to hit the 50 mark. He has obviously already well passed his career high (35 with SD in 2023) and now if the baseball god's allow, he will look toward breaking Bonds' record.

The Cubs will now return to Chicago to take on the Cardinals (53-54/4th NL Central)

Re: MLB The Show 24 Franchise Mode Discussion Thread

Personally MLB The Show is the one sports game where some decent sliders and roster and I'm set to go as far as difficulty in a franchise. I go through ebbs and flows. I might mash for a week and then go on a losing streak. All depends on my patience at the plate and how well I hit the corners when pitching.

            Baltimore Snap 6 Game Streak

It took 11 innings and 5 pitchers but the Orioles are back to their winning ways. Injuries caught up to them in the early season, as Cowser, Bautista, Bradish and Gunnar are all on the shelf with varying injuries. A 3-2 win in 11 over The Angels gets Baltimore up to 2nd in the division, 2 games behind Toronto, 1 ahead of New York. At 12-10 Baltimore is hoping this was just a minor blip after a red hot start to the 2024 season
. On the bright side Gunnar Henderson should be back next week and Mountcastle looks as if he might have found his swing after a slow start to the season. After starting the season with a .216 AVG and .188 with runners on he broke out to hit the game winning RBI double, going 3 for 5 in the game.

After taking over 1st place in the division for the first time of the season with 12 games left, a week later I clinched the division along with the best record in baseball. Finished the regular season at 101-61. (My greatest accomplishment in gaming ever was in 2018, finishing with the exact same record the Sox did in real life at 108-54).

Devers won the MVP, Houck won the Cy Young, I swept the infield Gold Gloves (Casas, Valdez, Story, Devers).

Devers led the league in Home Runs with 48, and brought home the Silver Slugger for 3B.

My entire starting rotation finished Top 5 in Walks Allowed (12 total for the whole year), Top 5 in WHIP, and Top 5 in pitching WAR.

Next up is the Astros in the ALDS.

This is why this ges the best, even when I lose.
Played in St Louis and had 14 hits to win 8-4. Very next game in Chicago and Drew Thorpe and Dean Kremer have a pitchers duel. Combining for 17 K's on 7 hits. No two games are alike.

                Orioles Struggles Continue
The Baltimore Orioles were in 1st place for 6 of the first 7 weeks of the season and now the wheels are coming off. Anthony Santander is hitting below the mendoza line, Colton Cowser who started fast, hasn't been himself since coming off the I.L. Then you have the pitching rotation which can perform well until they reach the pen, where Albert Suarez, Cionel Perez and Jacob Webb can't be trusted. Then you have Craig Kimbrel who was brought in to cover for the season ending injury to Felix Bautista. So far he's blown 3 saves in 13 attempts. Not awful, but not what you want when you're supposed to be chasing a pennant.
Today's game on The Southside was going almost to perfection.....until it wasn't. Dean Kremer came out firing on all cylinders striking out 10 in 7 IP. The problem, so did Drew Thorpe who struckout 7 in as many innings.
Even then Baltimore had the opportunity as they put Jorge Mateo and his speed on as the ghost runner and he proceeded to steal 3rd and score on an Adley Rutschman sac fly. kimbrel came in to shut it down and in just 3 pitches managed to give up the walk off to Kevin Pillar (3) and the game 3-2.
The Orioles now sit in 4th place at (25-25) heading to red-hot Boston who lead the division (30-23), a half game up on Toronto and 2 games on New York.

Cardinals finish April with 13-17 record and last place in division

The Cardinals have finished the first full month of the season with a 13-17 record and are currently in last place of the NL Central. The Cardinals trail both the Cubs and Pirates by 8 games.

It has been an absolutely frustrating beginning to a season removed from being in the NLCS and winning 99 games. Pitching has been terrible for the most part, the offense is struggling, and the team just keeps losing games in one way or another.

The Cardinals did however finish the month having won 4 straight, so there is hope that things are turning around.

The Cardinals will begin the month of May with the defending World Series Champion Reds who are having just as rough of a beginning to the year as the Redbirds.

Well damn....So I live in LA county. I'm fine though, nearest fire is a 30 minute drive and they've stopped forward progress but came here to vent. I've been playing 1 game of every series and given the fact works basically non existent given the current fire situation out here I was flying through games. Started posting my Orioles franchise as I had finally gotten to a place where I felt it would go for a long while. Then we lost power as I was saving my franchise this morning.... lost about a month and a half of in season gameplay and it corrupted . Not sure if I should start back from my last post or restart. I get in this weird spot where I want everything to be exactly the same and I know that isn't possible. I was about 2 weeks from All Star Break..... 1st world problems given whats happening around me I know but ugh still frustrated.

Cubs drop series to Cardinals to end month of July

Nolan Arenado is still great ladies and gentleman and he showed it in this series vs. the Cubs. In total, Arenado went 8-11 in the series he also had four rbis and scored three runs.

It was the combination of Arenado and Jordan walker who got the Cardinals out to an early lead in game one of the series. The first teamed up in the second inning when Arenado got on board with a single on a liner into RF off of the Cubs Jameson Taillon. Jordan Walker then came up and hit a double into the right center field gap that scored Arenado who was running on the pitch.

They did it again in the fourth inning when Arenado walked and Walker hit him in with a triple. At the time, the Cardinals led it 3-0. Patrick Wisdom got the Cubs on the board in the bottom half of the inning on an rbi single of his own.

Then, the Cubs took the lead in the 5th inning as they scored three on Juan Soto's 51st homerun of the year.

They weren't able to hold however as both Ben Brown and Carl Edwards JR game up a run each in their innings of relief as the Cardinals took the 5-4 victory.

Soto hit another one out of the park in game two and now sits at 52 on the year. The Cubs won that one 5-3.

That would be the only win for Chicago however as St. Louis took game three 5-3 and the series, 2-1.

The Calendar will now turn to August as the Cubs welcome in San Diego (58-52/1st NL West)

Cardinals place Jordan Walker on 60 Day IL

As if the season hasn't been a struggle already, the Cardinals have now placed 3B Jordan Walker on the 60 Day IL due to shoulder Cartlidge damage. Walker will be available to return around the all-star break.

Walker was hitting .312 with 6 homeruns and 22 RBIs at the time of his injury.

The Cardinals will turn to minor league journeyman, Malcolm Nunez for the time being to man the hot corner while they try to figure things out.

Cubs lose first series of August

The Cubs dropped two of three to the San Diego Padres in their first series of August.

Each game was a fight as the Cubs one victory in game one game via a 10-9 score with the Cubs surviving a 3 run 8th inning by San Diego.

After that, the Cubs bullpen let them down and allowed the Padres to win the series. Caleb Killian replaced Justin Steele after his uninspiring start in game two during which, he allowed 5 runs. Killian wasnt much better as he finished out the game allowing 3 runs of his own with 1 in the 8th and 2 in the 9th to give the Padres the 8-5 victory.

Game three went 11 innings but eventually ended in another SD victory. That was despite Cody Bellinger taking Emmanuel Clase deep (24) in the 9th inning to send it to extras.

The Cubs now travel to Georgia to face the Braves (71-41/1st NL East). The Braves beat the Cubs 2-1 in a series in July.

Is anyone else get disappointed with Free Agency in this game.

I just finished my first offseason, and Juan Soto just signed for $174 million dollars, at $22 mil a year, to the Marlins.

He didn't even come close to his current contract in real life, nor what he was even asking for in the game.

All of the competitive offers from teams, had such a low interest rate on the meter. It's kind of ridiculous.

Does this happen pretty frequently in FA, where star players don't get offered what they're asking for?

I just finished my first offseason, and Juan Soto just signed for $174 million dollars, at $22 mil a year, to the Marlins.

He didn't even come close to his current contract in real life, nor what he was even asking for in the game.

All of the competitive offers from teams, had such a low interest rate on the meter. It's kind of ridiculous.

Does this happen pretty frequently in FA, where star players don't get offered what they're asking for?
Yes, more than half the time, or even more, star players will sign for low AAVs and not come close to what they should be offered.

Its an area of franchise/offseason that needs to be looked into and updated.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Contract sliders like NBA 2K has can fix this easily.
