13 games in to the season and I'm ready to blow up my pitching staff, just got hammered by the A's 13-4 after losing to the Marlins 12-10 where we fell behind 9-0. I think it's about time for the Clay Holmes starter experiment to come to an end. My staff as a whole has a 5.34 ERA, worst in the league and more than a half run higher than the next closest team. Somehow we sit at 7-6 and are only two games behind the Phillies

Re: MLB The Show 25 Franchise Discussion
Cardinals take series from Pirates in Pittsburgh
The Cardinals (38-50) won their July opening series against the Pirates in Pittsburgh. The Cardinals still remain 9 games back of the Brewers in the Central.
The Cardinals started off July just like June with an opportunity to sweep a series, but came up short in the final game. The Cardinals won the first two behind good pitching, good defense, and timely hitting. On Monday the Cardinals won easily 4-1 as Sonny Gray was outstanding on the mound throwing 8 innings of 4 hit baseball giving up a single run. Ryan Helsley pitched a perfect 9th for his 21st save of the season. Offensively, Harrison Bader's 3 run double in the 5th put the Cards up 4-0 and they never looked back.
Tuesday it was Erick Fedde who got the ball and was good as well. He didn't get the decision as the Cardinals were down 2-1 going into the 8th and Fedde departed after 6 innings. But in the top of the 8th, Nolan Gorman would take a 1-2 pitch and blast it into the seats to put the Cards up 3-2 which would be the final tally. His homerun came after a Pirates error that would've ended the inning.
Wednesday Miles Mikolas threw 7 innings allowing 8 hits and 2 runs, but would take the loss as the Cards bats were blanked, as the Pirates went on to win 2-0. Paul Skenes, the Pirates starter, would throw 7 innings of shutout baseball allowing 2 hits and striking out 14 over those 7 innings of work. The Cardinals had the tying run at the plate in the 9th, but Willson Contreras would strike out to end the game.
The Cardinals are off on Thursday as they travel to Chicago for a 3 game 4th of July weekend series with the Cubs in Wrigley.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Created the expansion roster before starting, but I am using 30 team control. I did my dispersal draft list first, then chose my expansion players in that order, and made the trades.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Franchise Discussion
Finally got to a point where I am willing onto start again after my travel debacle where I lost all save files to EVERYTHING on PS5.....Starting with Toronto and just lost the craziest game of my life as I choked away the win but Yariel Rodriguez will take the blame. I've never imploded like this before in a game. I couldn't throw a strike, so strange.....Anyways.
Orioles @ Blue Jays
Opening Day Thriller in Toronto
With “O Canada” setting the tone, Opening Day in Toronto had all the drama you'd want. José Berríos was stellar for the Jays, tossing 6 strong innings, looking for his 100th win of his career. Toronto struck first and held a 2-0 lead into the 4th, but Baltimore chipped away to tie it. In the 9th, Myles Straw, pinch running for Alejandro Kirk, stole second and third, setting up a potential walk-off moment, but Baltimore's Cano got out of it with back to back strike outs.
Then came the 10th. Yariel Rodríguez imploded. Ryan O’Hearn delivered a crushing 3-RBI double. Baltimore put the game out of reach with a 7-run inning in what can only be described as a nightmare come true, Rodriguez proceeded to walk 6, give up 2 hits and 6 runs to take the loss after game 1 of the season.
Final Score:
Baltimore Orioles 9, Toronto Blue Jays 2 (F/10)
R. O’Hearn: 1-for-5, 2B, 3 RBI (Player of the Game)
Ramon Urias: 2-for-5, 2B, RBI
J. Holliday: 1-for-6, 2B, RBI, R
A. Rutschman: 2-for-4, R
Nathan Lukes: 3-for-5, R
Alejandro Kirk: 2-for-4, 4 RBI
George Springer: 1-for-4, R
Alan Roden: 2-for-3, BB (1st hit of career)Last edited by Bgrd1080; 04-07-2025, 12:44 PM.Sacramento Kings San Diego Padres Dallas Cowboys Liverpool FC

Re: MLB The Show 25 Franchise Discussion
Started one opening day with my favorite team the Angels but wanted to play with someone else for a change. So I played 5 games with Arizona and lost interest, played 10 games with the Yankees and lost interest and finally 5 games with the Padres and now have circled back to the AngelsSeeing them play the first 2 weeks in real life has me liking a lot of their young pieces like O'Hoppe, Paris, Joyce, Neto, Adell. Good mix of young players and veterans. The only negative is the home games with the stadium sounds. Currently upped the difficulty to HOF hitting and Legend pitching all default sliders. Currently 14-5 but most wins were on lower difficulty so will be interested to see how I do the next 30 games. Trout and O'Hoppe have carried me offensively and bullpen has been lights out for some reason.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Franchise Discussion
2026 Marlins
A bit of a mixed bag so far for the Marlins as they finish the month of May with a 26-33 record 12.5 games back of the division leading Braves. Hitting has been on and off throughout the first couple months and pitching has definitely been the weakest spot.
Hitting bright spots:
Jon Berti took over the full time role at third after Graham Pauley went down with a season ending injury and is currently hitting .315 with 13 stolen bases. Xavier Edwards is hitting .301 6 HR 24 RBI. Connor Norby leads the way with 14 HR's and Christian Vasquez is hitting .281 with 8 HR's.
Pitching bright spots:
Braxton Garrett has been the most consistent with a 3-6 record and a 3.77 ERA. In the pen Soriano, Curry, and Faucher have been the best. Calvin Faucher took over for Chapman in the closer role and Eury Perez was sent down with Robby Snelling taking his place.
Injuries:
Graham Pauley out for the year with a dislocated ankle. Ryan Weathers is on the 60 IL with a broken arm.
Transactions:
Robby Snelling was called up to take the place of Eury Perez ( hoping he figures it out). Max Meyer was called up with Ryan Weathers on the IL. AJ Vukovich was called up and he was a rule 5 pick.
Trade deadline and draft coming up soon. Looking like it will be another sell off for the Marlins if things don't get turned around.
