I'm in year 2012 and have played every game. This is the PS2 so I've been playing RTTS since the release of that platform.

      Re: Official RTTS Thread..

I rented the game over the Weekend since I have no classes on friday and monday was a day off.... I put in some seriuos game play and got a Closer into 2009 and played a position player into 2011 before I finally started to get frustrated.....

first year played 20 games in the majors B/W KC and LA(I got traded for Saito), hit around .350 with 9 HRs 15 RBI in those games(had 5 Hrs in my first 3 games.... must have been pretty hyped).... ended the year in AAA with the Dodgers. Signed a deal the next year with the Pirates for about 30,000 (I guess top level 19 year old prospects are cheap) and proceeded to fill in for Jason Bay for 60 games and hit around .350 again with 15 HRs and 40 RBI in those games..... sign another 1 year 30,000 deal with the Yankees and I'm a AAA utility player getting a total of 29 at-bats in the season (in which i hit .500 and had 5 HRs in AAA).... end of the year no contract offers.... sim through spring and I don't get a contract... do the same the next year.... no contract.... and I'm done....

I just got really frustrated that regardless of how well I was playing my guy never seemed to improve.... even though my lifetime stats in about 90 MLB games I was hitting .350 with 25 HRs and 60+ RBI before I turned 20 I was still a D contact, C Power, C speed prospect with no offers..... then when I enter my 3rd year I am pinch running and all my attributes go down.... even when I was playing really well with the Pirates the most improvement I got on an attribute was a +6 on power...... which of course saw no improvment the next two years....

Wasn't the case with my closer cause all i had to do was focus points on pitches and they built up pretty fast... also I was never buried on a bench getting a max 30 points cause I stole a base as a Pinch Runner....

I just felt cheated after playing really well... and putting in most of my memorial day weekend... I would at least have a starting position in the Majors to show for it....

After a few of you warned me not to play as a catcher (because it might be boring) I went and did it anyway.

Currently in the middle of spring training with the Giants. I'm playing really poor at the moment .115 0-HR 5-RBI

My teammates hate me whilst my coach doesn't seem to have an opinion either way.

On quite a few occasions I've had to catch a pop-up, and sometimes the commentator mentions the fact that I managed to do it with my mask still on. Does this mean there is actually a button to press to take my mask off?

Just got done with my stint at tampa as a SP, started 21 (10-7) games for the AAA at durham and then got called up to start 7 games for Tampa.ended up going 2-1 there.

At the end of the year i had four contracts waiting for me, each 3 years and around 200,000 (this is end of 2009 start of 2010) So i went to the indians. starting out in AAA, should be up to speed there in no time.

            this game is great.

After playing RTTS last night, I am not sure when I will ever get to a regular season. I created myself as a 3B for the Reds. First spring training game, I am starting and I go 3-3. That is until the game played out for 20 innings and I ended up 5-9 with 5 singles 2sb's and 1 run scored.

I just can't believe how much I love this mode. It is exactly what I thought it would be like and now I will probably have to sign divorce papers

I think I will also create a pitcher and play that route also.

QUICK QUESTION: Do you guys that have played into the year 2010 play every opportunity or do you sim a bunch?

I'm the same way. I bought the game the day after release, and I haven't played a single full game. In fact, it hasn't touched anything but RTTS mode, and I'm having a blast!!!

I'm in mid-July 2009, and I've played every game. When you get called up to the Show the first few times, you don't play for weeks at a time, so some of the time goes by really fast. I've also had stretches where I've DHd for a month or two, and when you're only batting, its pretty fast as well, especially if you're slumping and not getting on base (I hit .200 in May 2009).

Updating my RTTS, after my horrible May slump, I'm red hot in July, and have pushed my average up from the end of May .280 to .338 in mid-July. Just started for the PCL All-Stars in the AAA All-Star Game at Petco Park! That was pretty cool, but I went 0-for-3. Played to games after that. First game, struck out in the first at bat, then went triple, single, double. Didn't get the last at bat to try for the cycle. Next game, I lead off the game with a homer to go for the cycle in my last 4 at bats (spanning 2 games). Next 4 at bats are double, single, ground out, single. So, I was one away from the cycle for the second straight game!!

Aren't you guys getting bored of playing defense? I have tried both SS and CF and after the first games when it all looks new, i'm starting to get bored of fielding as are always the same plays that need zero skills from you. I'm thinking on starting a new career as C or any position that doesn't play a lot in defense to progress faster. The second option would be to play in classic mode quick simming to my next at bat but then i would miss baseruning and i enjoy it a lot as i created myself as a speedy player and i'm pretty good stealing.

I wish we could be rewarded also because our good defensive plays as right now fielding good or bad means nothing for your career so it becomes boring.

I do wish you got rewarded for good plays in the field, but I enjoy playing the middle infield positions. Whenever I was stuck at 1st or 3rd, it got a bit boring, but middle infielding is still fun to me.

I finally got called up to AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last night. I didn't last there long though. I played about 2 week's worth of games in the OF (even though my guy is a 2B) before I got hurt. I was out for a month. When I healed, they sent me back down to AA Trenton. I tore it up the first few weeks there, played in the AA All-Star Game, then got called back up to AAA.

Now, they split me between CF, 2B, and I even DH'ed a few games. I'm hoping for a call-up to the Yankees sometime next season. I'm just not ready at this point.

I just started my RTTS career as a 2B just to fool around, finished my first spring training, just wondering how long did it take you guys to get called up to the majors?? or have you guys ever been called up?

I have seen it before but can't find it again. I am looking for the stats and grading of my player...where they say my potential, can't hit for power, etc...

                            Where is it!!?? Thanks

Also, I have heard people talk about asking to move up. Is this in interactions? Because I have never seen that option. I play on the PS3 if it makes a difference.

yes, i think you can do it if you are good, but you might get laughed at by them or they might say ok. I have yet to do it. I just keep my mouth shut ever sence i got benched two weeks for saying my AA team wasnt good.
