This one is REALLY up in the air right now.
When I first reported that you could manually injure a player in ST...that was true. But they found a problem with it.(thankfully they found it!!!)....At that time there were no random injuries in ST. I think SCEA didn't think we wanted the chance of losing our guys to injury in ST. I conveyed that we indeed want that chance!(I hope you guys are with me on this...besides...with the ability to "heal" players anyway...if something happens in ST you really don't like...you could fix it)

Okay so Jeff Ullman is working on this right now. He seems to think it can be remedied to their satisfaction, but I guess three things may happen.
1-No spring training injuries...at all either random or manual
2-Manual spring training injuries...but no random
3-Both the ability to injure a player and the potential for random injuries may be in.

I'm hoping for 3....but wouldn't mind 2...and heck...if it's 1?....this is STILL an awesome game!(having both would make for a more interesting spring training!)

Thanks Knight. I'm hoping for 3 as well, but will settle for 2 and enjoyed the game last year so I can deal with 1 as well.

    What about progression/regression in ST?
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

On the flip side of that, even when the Cubs do bad fans always to their games in real life. I'm torn I kinda like how it is in the 09 game, but maybe the crowds could be scaled down some for certain teams?
Wouldn't this make it impossible for "owners" to ever really progress and increase their profit in franchise? This would just handicap that franchise and make it a team not worth playing because no matter how well I do..no one will show up..that would make it really disappointing and not really worth playing with that team. Dunno maybe just me.

Awesome news (and thanks for all that typing for your part 1 on franchise). If we go into our franchise, and either on our team or a CPU controlled team, we manually injure someone, does that turn injuries off for that franchise, that team, or not at all? I can't find it, but I thought someone said that once you turn on manual injuries, you will not get random injuries in a franchise.

Thats how Id expect it to be, but was wondering if it was possible to start the franchise with all the current injuries (for example, last year with A-Rod hurt, etc) but then once we start the franchise with up to date rosters/injuries, we could then allow our own little franchise world begin with random injuries.

          Hey Knight,

After reading your part 1 write-up, one thing that I am really interested in that I was still a little confused on had to do with injuries. From the build you had, sounded like you could do what I wanted.

I would like to control injuries and moves for all 30 teams for the 1st year of my franchise, but then for seasons 2 and on have the injuries turned back to simulated for all teams. You had mentioned being able to toggle on/off lots of different options and it would be great if injuries was one (as well as force trades) but sometimes this is one of those options that you have to pick at beginning of franchise and keep.

            Knight,
I brought this up in the roster thread when the fact sheet came out. With the futures game do rosters have the country or at least foreign origin assigned to each player? Or is the future game just the best players playing against each other regardless of nationality?

Thanks for the community feedback guys! You've helped convince an Aussie who doesn't normally follow the sport to give this game a try.

                Cheers

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions

Hey guys, I have two questions:

                    1) Do the sliders actually work? I am mainly concerned about the ones for lefties and righties. In past years, it seemed that it didn't make much difference. Meaning, say I made a lefty batter's hitting ability against lefty pitchers much worse than his ability against righty pitchers, I would consistently still have very close stats (avgs, homers, etc.) against both lefty and righty pitchers.

                    2) I know you all said that the builds you played at CD didn't have the latest batting stance and pitching delivery edits. I'm just curious - was that the case last year too at CD? I felt like last year you came back with plenty of info on the stances and deliveries. THANKS GUYS!!

You can turn them to AUTO or MANUAL at any time.

Yay! I think I am going to turn into Jim this year. I think it was him at least that said he would wake up every morning and look at all of the previous days transactions and make all the changes in franchise. Gonna be a great summer!

All you have to remember is ignore the WAIVER message that will pop with guys who are out of options (if you have WAIVER set to MANUAL) and the AI, after the two day waiting period, will just assign the player you sent down to the minors.

Sorry if this has been answered, as I am a CPA and busy right now at work. Pitcher confidence... has it been toned down where a hit or two doesn't destroy the pitcher? A second question, is this tied in to his attributes in any way?

Hey guys, thanks so much for taking the time out of your lives to not only fly out of state and spend so much time with this game, but to also take your time to answer all of our questions. You should be paid to do this!

                              On to my questions...

                              1. Did anyone play in Camden Yards, if so, did you notice any updates to the stadium? Such as the hotel beyond left center field...the out of town scoreboard being updated to be HD and not the old one, etc.

                              2. Can night games now be partly cloudy/overcast like day games, or are they always clear, starting with the sun shining? It would be cool to have overcast night games too. To expand on this, can the weather change from clear to partly cloudy or overcast over the course of a game?

                              3. I'm pretty sure the only game time options are 1:05 and 7:05 like last year, but can you confirm this?

                              Thanks again!!

Don't know if this was asked/answered, but....

On wild pitches, does the catcher still go into a slide to retrieve the ball? Minor annoyance, but it does get old quick....

                                Thanks!
