How the HELL do you throw using analog in RTTS? I'm a 3rd baseman and when I get the ball and point the analog stick towards first it goes everywhere but. I just had 3 errors in one game. HELP!

That said, some of those errors could probably have been prevented by me not trying to make full-strength throws. Hold the analog toward the base (Left for 1st on the normal RTTS controls) for a shorter time and you'll get a weaker, but usually more accurate throw.
Here's an idea - try going into the frontend practice mode with a AA - ball fielder at your position and get used to just how long you need to hold the stick to get enough strength behind a throw. From what I've seen so far it's better to go VERY conservative on the throw power to make sure you don't miss your target. Or, even better, create a player with your RttS guy's ratings, sign him to a team, and take HIM into the frontend practice. That way you'll know exactly what you're dealing with when you go back into RttS.
Just some food for thought - More than the hitting, I can already tell fielding is going to be the real challenge of RttS this year.,Last edited by bcruise; 03-08-2011, 09:02 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Does anyone know if there is a specific format to when and what training drills you get? I've got Good at-bat training 3 times and stolen base training 2x. But sometimes they are weeks apart and other times I get 2 in a row.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Lucky, that was my hope. But the Blue Jays have been fun so far. Starter in AA with just under 2 months to go in the season. CF w/ 3HR-3SB so far.
What a great game with exponential improvements made in the menu actions/calendar/notifications/etc.
After a couple years into RTTS last year, the Menus became a nightmare.
Is it me or does loading seem faster? Also can you turn auto-save off? cant find it.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
First, what fielding difficulty are you on? IMO, anything above All-Star will make it hurt with a brand new fielder. I've made 5 errors in 6 games on All-Star (31 arm acc).

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Left - 1st
Down - 2nd
Right - 3rd
Up - Home
It's this way no matter where you are relative to your target. If you're simply trying to point the analog toward the exact direction you want to throw, you'll make throwing errors (and maybe even throw to the wrong base) on any difficulty level.
That may be your problem, if I'm understanding you correctly.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
The directions for the bases on the default RttS fielding controls are :
Left - 1st
Down - 2nd
Right - 3rd
Up - Home

Just went 21 freaking innings in double-A.
Game ended on an error by me. Men at the corners. I get the ball, of course, it's over the 1Bs head. I went 5-10. My team had 21 hits. and 5 errors. all by me.HoosiersPacersPhilliesRavens
