Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

Loving RTTS as always. Very happy about the new points system. Just annoyed being drafted by Cubs. Didn't feel like starting over though. So hopefully get traded to somewhere else (Born and live in SF so really want Giants, but might not get a chance to go there until Free Agency like last year). If not then I guess I'll try and help the Cubs win the elusive World Series!

Created a SP, with sliders almost full to power, 3/4 to movement, and almost full to balanced repertoire. Three pitches were 4SFB, 12-6 CB, and Slider, kind of hard with two hard breaking pitches and only one fb, but I like it this way. Going to add circle change probably near the end of AAA when I get there, and then either a splitter or cutter when I'm in the bigs.

First game that I finally started last night, went 6 innings, 6 hits, 0 walks, 5 K's, and 0 runs allowed and got the win. Boy this game rocks!
Now Playing: MLB 11: The Show, Battlefield BC2, Pokemon White, Portal 2, Mass Effect 2 (still), COD: Black Ops, FIFA '11

Waiting For: Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, LA Noire, Batman Arkham City, The Last Guardian, Battlefield 3, Gears of War 3, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Have two games going - one as a 2B under my real name. Switch-hitter with some power, can play the entire infield as a backup. Drafted by the White Sox and have been getting a few starts a week in different positions.

The other is a SP, a lefty innings eater with a balanced repertoire and a lot of movement. I named him Moe Stamper because I quickly skimmed through the list of audible names and picked a name randomly. Got drafted by the Rays but so far have only been used in relief.

Just doing a temperature check on the mode. I don't see a lot of issues being brought up. (Crosses fingers hopes this is the rule and not the exception)

Anyway do you guys notice anything wonky or something that doesn't work the way intend? I see there aren't a lot of bugs being found (Crosses fingers again.)

The only small thing i see is, before you come up to bat and it shows your whp is pitching and the out etc, it shows the bases are loaded every time, they use gold circles for the bases. You never know how many men are on base before your at bat.

Its not a huge deal just something small

Chose to be a contact hitter, defense-oriented 3B. Got drafted by the Pirates (Altoona), yuck.

Finished 0-5 my first game and then smacked a 3 run homer for my first professional hit in the 2nd game!

Loving the RTTS this year, it's a lot different from when I played it in '09 which is the last time I played The Show.

Nothing noticeable right off the bat.

Russell, is the lack of points gained during simmed games intended? I ask as an exclusive RTTS player I do like to sim 50% of my minor league games and 33% of my Majors, just so I can churn through the years in my missions for MLB records. As it is though with the lack of points gained, I'm having to play alot more games and its slowing down my progress.

Can someone please clarify what the sliders mean when creating an RTTS player? *Does that limit how good you'll be able to be when you level up your guy? *For example, if I made myself heavy in power and slow in speed then I'd have a low cap for how fast I am. *I would ulitmately like to create a true 5 tool player with good stats across the board.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's for the initial allocation of points. After you create your guy, you can place points however you like.

I didn't get The Show 10 (last one was 09 for me) and can't figure out how to lean the runner in RTTS mode.

                      any help?

Thats what I was hoping. T makes the most sense. I was just looking for a confirmation of that.

Got drafted by the Dodgers as a power hitting first basemen. First appearance comes in the bottom of the 13th of a scoreless game, a runner on second and two outs. First pitch fastball hit right back up the middle for a walk off single!

You have to be using the New baserunning controls, not Classic. To lean you just hold down R1 while leading off first.
