Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

After taking two of three in Cleveland, the Mariners are still two games up on the Rangers.

I conjured up an interesting trade with a 20-20 Arizona.

I would send two A prospects, Sean Kazmar and Nick Franklin, for Stephen Drew. This would greatly fill a hole at SS for me, but I doesn't really benefit Arizona and I don't know how to make it without giving up somebody I really need. Any ideas?

Sending two A prospects, which both fill spots the Mariners will need in a season or two? I wouldn't pull the trigger, but if the prospects aren't doing too well then maybe it is a good trade.

I guess it really depends on how well each player is doing.

Cubs just snapped my 7 game win streak..highly upset, once I saw Dempster on the mound I had a feeling I could lose, he has my number everytime...

Next night we came out kind of lazy, bats weren't talking, and Bret Myers was killing me with low changeups and sliders..finally got him out the game and Molina tied it up with a 2 run HR to tie it up.. extras we go..top of the 15th Redbirds put up 6 in the inning to put the game out of reach..had a blast with it

Middle of August, big time series against the Cardinals at Wrigley, in the battle for first. In Game 1, fricking Cardinals pull off the safety squeeze to take the lead and eventually win the game.

Cubs and Cardinals are now both tied atop of the NL Central Standings

i woulnt pull the trigger cause the 2 A prospects should turn out to be good- great players in 1,2,3 years which the mariners will neeed to become a strong team

How on Earth is Sean Kazmar an "A" prospect? He's a light-hitting, 5'9 infielder who is already 27 years old.

                  Face glitch player.
All players made with the face glitch are A potential players(not by the creators design....the game does it)
                  That's my guess.

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

Okay im back with an update to my franchise,

It was a pretty good offseason for us, we did not lose any core players. I wanted to keep all of my same team because i believe we can win with this group of players.
-Ryan Braun went +5 overall and Prince Fielder went +6 overall
-resigned Prince Fielder to a 5 year 45 million dollar contract

So as of right now i am done with the offseason and am about to start spring training.

We have some position battles going on right now

                    SP
                    - we have 5 starters trying for the 5th spot
                    RP
                    - we have 12 relievers and only 6 spots available
                    CP
                    - the job is already set and given to Jon Axford
                    C
                    - we have 4 players fighting for the 2 catching jobs this year
                    1B
                    - Prince has won the job already
                    2B
                    - Rickie Weeks has the job already
                    SS
                    - we have 3 players fighting for the job
                    3B
                    - Casey Mcgehee has the job
                    LF
                    - Ryan Braun definatly has the job
                    CF
-this is where it gets interesting as I have 4 possible starting CF(Dexter Fowler,Nyjer Morgan,Carlos Gomez, and Jordan Brown)
                    RF
                    - Corey Hart has the job already

As you can see there are going to be some tough decisions going into camp. We are going into this season as the mentality to make the playoffs. I was just wondering if any1 had any ideas how I should play out Spring Training. I only play 1 game every 7 days in the regular season, but im not sure if I should do that for Spring training. Please get back to me..

Started again with ATL. 4-2 Hanson and Jurrjens have been superb. I'm still frustrated with Dan Uggla, aside from his stance being hideous, i can't do anything with pitches on the far side of the plate with him. I'll probably shop him around and see what i can get.

Fair point. I do, however, have Dustin Ackley to play second, so that eliminates the true need of Sean Kazmir and Stephen Drew is still young, so Nick Franklin wouldn't be needed anytime soon.

True. Its hard to judge players on what they do IRL compared to the game, they can be doing really good/bad in the Show but be the exact opposite outside the game.

Example, if Stephen Drew is batting higher than .290, I would pull the trigger then. Especially if Sean Kazmir nor Nick Franklin are doing well. I picture how the players are doing IRL when thinking of your case, but that could be completely different.

My issue is that Arizona is not doing that bad that they would have a fire sale. I feel like I would need to give them something they can use now rather than just two prospects. I hope that makes sense.

IRL - Drew is out for the year. :o

I lost the second game against the Red Sox 8-0, Pettitte was the starter in that game, but I avoided a sweep by winning the next game 7 to 5, was up 7 to 1 at one point, the starter was Joel Pineiro. I am now 7 and 5 against the Red Sox in the season, I now start a three game series against the Angels at home. Oh yeah Jeter got his 3000th hit at Fenway in the game that I lost 8-0.
