If the CPU won't accept Pujols for Smoak, then why would it accept Kershaw (Ace), Ethier (Franchise player) for Pujols?

I think it would come down to money and age. The Mariners wouldn't wanna give up cheap talent and a future star for an aging Pujols. Then the Dodgers would prolly wanna trade Ethier anyday for Pujols because Ethier is getting older and Kershaw because his contract is running out and the way the Dodgers may think is that he will want a long term hefty contract. Never know but they will take it.

I started my franchise with a fantasy draft (my new preferred way to play as of '10). I figure it's a simulation, not reality, so why not mix things up and have an alternate universe where Roy Halladay is the ace for the Rays. He started us off with a 2-0 victory in game one against Baltimore. Adam Wainwright got roughed up in a game 2 7-2 loss to the O's. Then in game 3, my offense started to click. I'm using analog/HOF/no guess pitch. Thanks to the demo, I'm getting better every game. Tampa Bay was down 5-2 in the 6th, and with some plate discipline and an error, we loaded the bases. Chris B Young blasted my first HR on '11 for a grand slam to right-center. Logan Morrison followed with a solo blast to straight-away center. Carlos Marmol held on for the save. We also survived 4 errors, and the game lasted almost an hour and a half. Great experience! Loving the game.

I only control my team. I let the cpu do what he wants to do.

How do you know it is a he?

I haven't purchased the game yet due to time constraints, plus I am in no hurry since I like to use the OS rosters anyway. But I always anxiously follow your franchise updates, so please keep 'em coming.

I started a franchise with the Cardinals (Like I always do) and the first thing I did was shop Pujols around because he will not be on my 2011 roster or the forseable future for the birds. I spent alot of time shopping him around (about 2 hours) looking for the right deals and got a couple that are very intriguing. So here's what I came up with and these deals should take as the trade bar is almost completely full.

Another thing is the trade lodgic is 10x better this year because some teams didn't wanna parts ways with their furture star for Pujols. Example, the Mariners didn't wanna give away Justin Smoak straight up for Pujols and that's great! It makes me feel they didn't wanna give up young talent for a (possibly) down slide player like Pujols. Now that doesn't mean the computer won't accept dumb trades that look weird because they will.

So anyway here are the deals that I have set-up and will most likely take, let me know which deal you like and which one would you do. Keep in mind Pujols is getting traded and I'm not keeping him.

First deal: Pujols & Molina for Ethier, Loney, & Kershaw

With this deal I get a pretty decent 1st baseman, excellent outfielder, and (at-times) dominate starting pitcher.

Second deal: Pujols for King Felix

With this deal I get a CY Young pitcher but lose a 1st baseman, which I could just put Berkman there and have a spring training battle for right field with Allen Craig and Jon Jay. Which leads me to this deal if I trade Pujols straight up for King Felix:

Berkman, Lohse, Punto for Justin Morneau

This means I lose the best player in baseball and leave 1st base open (Pujols), my 5th starter (Lohse), very good utility player with great defense(Punto), and my 5th batter in the line-up with potential good power and driving in runs but he is old(Berkman).

I do get a CY Young pitcher(Felix) and a 1st baseman that (barring injury) will florish in the national league in my line-up(Morneau).

So which deal would you do? Deal 1 or Deal 2?

Whoa, those trades make sense. But St. Louis would NEVER deal Pujols away Not gonna lie though I think you made your team better not just for the long run, but for the present also. Pujols doesn't make a team, just a chunk of it, haha.

So I was starting a fantasy draft waiting for the OS Rosters, I chose the Nationals and saw McCutchen and decided I wanted to be the pirates, I then saw Carlos Gonzalez as I was drafted and decided I wanted to be the Rockies

I can never decide what team to be with fantasy

well Pujols broke out of his slump against the Pirates today going 3 for 3 with 2 homeruns and 6 RBI's. Not sure why the Pirates kept pitching to him....LOL

I am sitting at 4-1 right now.

Most likely, ill start a franchise with any team and just play some games here and there and sim a few seasons to see how everything works out, then when the rosters come out ill go hard into my phillies franchise (: and in a month or so ill pick a lower end team and rebuild (:

sounds like a great idea. Who you looking to play with before rosters come out...I'm trying to decide that now.

What team should I start a franchise with before I start my "real" franchise with the Phillies before rosters come out? I'm looking for a team that is middle of the pack in pitching (great ace, subpar rotation) and hitting? Any suggestions?

Just going to say, as you might already know, this is a question looked down upon!

My advice is to look through teams and just pick one

Just started Indians franchise. Traded Laporta for Torres and zito then traded sizemore for Cain, romo and for Laporta to come back.

Has moved my Indians to 20 in rankings! This was done legit, no cheating. Realistic trade?

Feel o got a good deal without trading too much away . Basically I got Torres, Cain, zito and romo for Sizemore!

Half way through first game losing 3-2 to White sox. Cain gave up 3 in first inning. Loving it!
