Just Finished the Regular Season with The Indians. Won my divison by 2 games with a record of 96-66. Howard hit 48 HR's and Bautista hit 46. Played game 1 of the ALDS against the Rays and won 6-2.

That's why I'm not sure if I want to do it. The future never comes in these games for me. 162 games is a long season and by the time Ackley is really ready, considering Jack Wilson is a beast for me, it's going to be a season or so and I don't know if I am even going to get there. We'll see. I have two three game sets in Detroit and Boston. If we can't score and win a few games there, I will make a move.

No, I was planning on simming the first year and rebooting the franchise but I saw we were in contention and I played the last month. We missed the wild card by about 5 games. We had the wild card under control until a heart breaking 10 inning loss to the D- Backs. We were then tied for the Wild card with the Rockies, but the Rockies beat us 2 games to one in a series and we fell apart.

Closing in on September in my franchise, its the D-backs vs. Rockies vs. Dodgers for the NL West crown, Diamondbacks (Me) are 1st in the Wild Card Race but 2 GB the Rockies in the Division. The Dodgers are tied with the Phillies for 2nd in Wild Card and the Dodgers are 1 GB behind me in the West.

Pitching has prevailed for me this season, with huge acquisitions in potential Cy Young winners James McDonald and Clay Bucholz, they're 2nd and 3rd in the race to Matt Cain. All Cy Young candidates are on track for 20+ wins, 2.75ish ERA, and about 200 Ks.

Offensively Drew Stubbs came over in a trade and became the power hitter of the club, if he heats up near the end of September he can get 40+ HRS (Currently 32 HRs). I signed FA Hank Blalock to play third while I traded away Mora because of his age. He hasn't done much though but does really well for me after the 7th inning, with 2 Walk-Offs since I signed him in mid-August!

I'm looking forward to the offseason with more spending money to hopefully bring in a key FA to help me dominate the NL West for the rest of my franchise!

I would suggest playing all 162 games, it's fun. And this is my first time doing it. I am in mid June with the Bucs. Have played every single inning every single out. It's a great feeling and you really feel like it's YOUR franchise.

It depends how much you can hold off buying the next version of the game. I bought MLB 10 a week before 11 came out and am through 111 games in my Brewers season and am looking forward to continuing this franchise for the next few years while also playing every game. If I stay interested in this Brewers storyline I have created, I may not be buying another MLB game for years to come.

162 games would take a long-azz time tho...unless he's just plannin to play 1 season....especially now that NCAA Football 12 has released, The Show will be secondary in video games...I'm currently simulating all the way up to the playoffs in my franchise

I used to be a proponent of playing EVERY game, but this year I started to sim because I wanted to play a few years with the Nationals before '12 is released. Simming games could not have been more liberating - my season now really feels like my season and as I head into the last week of the season, I'm enjoying the push towards the playoffs and have excitement heading to the off-season.

Attempting to complete 162 games in a season is too daunting for me. I'd rather play 162 games over multiple seasons to develop a true franchise.

I'll post my stats at the end of the season. At the moment I'm 1 game up on PHL with 7 games remaining on the season. Philly and I (Nationals) are playing for the final time this season. A win here would give me a 2 game cushion heading into the final 2 series against ATL (4 games back) and FLA.

I agree 100%. I used to play almost every game, building my team how i wanted. Now, I alternate between playing and simming. All the trades I make to improve my team for the future might actual see results now. It is fun playing all the games, but if you want to get multiple seasons in, you have to simulate.

And on to my Mets update: Much to my amazment, I swept the Braves. I am now 3.0 games up on Atlanta, with the Marlins up next. My last game vs the Braves was crazy. it was 6-5 game after about 4 innings. HRs all over the place, one by Chipper of course. I made the mistake of hagnging a changeup to Heyward and hit a 452 bomb to the bridge in Citi. After all the HRs, the game winning run came in on a groundout by Pagan in the bottom of the 8th.

I start every game, but I use fast forward a lot to make them go a bit quicker when I am down by a lot for winning my massive amounts, which hasn't happened yet. I sim every once in a great while. Either way, to see the fruits of your prospects you are going to need to play a lot of seasons and I just can't do that before next March.

Playing all 162 is very rewarding though.

Three games in Detroit and three in Boston. Should be a aggravating night.

                          New Guy Here:

I am in my first season about to half way through August. I have played every game. Jeter has joined the 3000 hit club for me, and since that he has been on fire. A-Rod leads the league with 35 HR followed closely by Posada with 34. Burnette is a solid 13-3 with CC at 12-4. In fact all starting 5 pitchers have at least 10 wins. I did make a trade to oakland for Gio Gonzalez to help shore up the rotation. I moved Ivan Nova to the bullpen for support, as this has been my weakest spot on the team so far.

As for the standings The RedSox are in 1st 4 games ahead of me with 77 wins, i think, i know i am around 72 wins or 73 wins. there are only 3 other teams in the majors with 70+ wins, and yet i am in second place. gotta love the Al East.

Looks like the MVP and the Cy Young may go to Verlander, however Burnette is in the running for Cy young.

I figured Cust wasn't the best trade piece, but I was hoping two A prospects would even it out.

Toronto wants Chone Figgins and they are willing to give up Adam Lind. Good deal? Maybe try for Aaron Hill?
