As long as you're havin fun, please continue....I'm already playing with a small-market team in the Pirates and i'm enjoying every minute of it as well...Love their young potent offense and somehow im gettin by with their no-name pitching staff..Unfortunately the Pirates dont have the abundance of minor-league talent like the Royals do and whatever talent i do have, they're in AA and i plan on leavin them there for the rest of the season and see how they progress...I dont like to rush prospects up when they're obviously not ready just to make a splash...All my prospects gotta show they deserve to be promoted and when they do, I would want them to be able to stay in the big leagues instead of shuffling them up and down....As much as im stubborn in keeping my rosters realistic, I've come to the conclusion that I NEED a true ace to anchor my rotation for the playoff fun so I'm scouring the trading block as we speak

I'm like a lil kid in a candy store...so many appealing choices...no matter what ace i go after, i kno imma end up having to part with top-tier prospects which i've always been against doing....I'm really lookin hard at ubaldo for some reason

I know its not a true a ace.. But I suggest Carl Pavano from the Twins he has a 3.58 ERA in my franchise and leads the team in innings and wins.. He just knows how to win. Hes got a dirt nasty Changeup and a very good slider along with a 90-94 mph fastball with knight's rosters. DO NOT go after Liriano his era is 4.5 but he will either throw a 9 inning 10 strikeout shutout or 2 innings and 8 runs allowed...

i'm confident i can get the best outta liriano if i deal for him...i'd rather take young inconsistent talent over the guts/guile kinda guy any day...neither guy is an ace...liriano would make a sold #2 for me tho

Alright but if your making a playoff push you need a guy like pavano whos reliable...of course if the price is reasonable.

I just finished my 1st Pirates game. I signed Troy Glaus off free agency. I lost 7-5, it was a tough lose. I was leading 4-0 in the 6th. Webb ( got him in a trade) was cruising gets 2 quick outs, then allows 6 runs then he gets out of it. McCutchen had an amazing game tripled in his 1st ab, hr in his 2nd ab, in his last 3 ab's had singles, 5-5. I'm down 7-4 in the 9th 2outs, Neil Walker at the plate gets a hanging slider from Marmol bomb's it way out of here. McCutchen singles, Jones doubles 2nd and 3rd 2 out for Pedro Alverez. He lines out to end the game. Next game I hope to come out and cremate the Cubs.

sure i can slot him in as my #3,4, or 5 but u have to ask yourself does pavano scare u? and the obvious answer is no...If i wanted another middle-of-the rotation starter i'd just go fishing in the minors and bring up morton or mccutchen...As any real-life Pirate would know, their rotation is comprised of all #3,4,5 guys...Im seeking somebody that can go toe-to-toe with the likes of kershaw, halladay etc..

Your gonna have to give up the farm then. Matt garza is filthy in exbition games, I hate facing jake peavy.. Those are cheaper options. Felix hernandez? Johan santana? Zack greinke if the brewers are outta it.. Theres always matt cain iv always wanted to see him as an ace.

I was thinkin ubaldo as my initial guy and cain as my 2nd option...i would seriously have to think about it..after all i'm 1GB of STL for 1st..If i somehow land a bonafide ace, i'm quite certain i will be on top of the division at the end of the year

I probably would if you think you can compete with the philies and braves and stuff... I'm first in my division but I traded my best hitter cuz I can't compete with top teams... 5 games into the trade delmon is hitting 500 with 2 hrs and 7 rbiswith the dodgers....
