Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm gonna start a STL franchise and I want to trade for a good lefty SP prospect that can start this season or by opening day 2013 and I'm willing to trade Carpenter or Beltran to get him. Any suggestions as to who I should look at?Comment

problem with what you're askin for is that Carp and Beltran are in their late 30's....what team is realistically gunna give u a ready-made, top-of-the-rotation lefty before 2012 even starts?Steelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

I didn't say top of the rotation. Just a young serviceable lefty prospect. Doesn't even have to be an A potential although it would be nice. And when I said "start this season" what I meant was start sometime this season. I might wait all the way til the deadline to do this trade, just wanted some suggestions of guys to look for.Comment

NoFatGirlz, was just wondering why the A's let Gio go...I worked in the Bay Area for a few years and he seemed to be someone the A's would have kept. Were the players they traded National for that good or was it more a contract thing. Just curious since you used him and he is no longer an A.Comment

Don't worry....if any of the prospects pan out, they'll be traded off to a big-market team for more prospects to start this *rebuilding* process all over againSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Kinda figured that but didn't take time to research it. Did so after your post. Even though 4 years 40M with 2 year opt that could 65M doesn't seem that bad, I know a club like Oakland doesn't spend that kinda $. Thanks for the input.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
That has been something that has killed me about the A's. I understand the math behind it all, but I still wonder if they (the A's) don't have another reason. I went to one A's game while I was there and it is one bad (not good) stadium. I understand the economics behind it. Bad stadium = no butts in seat. No butts in seat = no $ to keep players. No players = no butts in seats. No butts in seat = no one wants to pony up $ for new stadium. Is their a contract between the A's and oakland that keeps them from moving. I mean with cities that have stadiums that are a lot better than current conditions and want a MLB team?Comment
