What do you guys think of this trade?
After a recording setting year, and not in a good way, the Orioles trade Mark Reynolds

A's get: 3B Mark Reynolds
Orioles get: 1B Daric Barton, 3B Scott Sizemore, SP Daniel Straily

The A's get power hitting that they desperately need, and the Orioles get a first basemen and Reynolds replacement at 3rd, and a pitching prospect

I thought Baltimore already had a good first baseman. It have may been Reynolds I speaking of. Can't he play first base as well as 3rd?

By looking at this on paper Baltimore lost on this one. The reason being Reynolds big bat won't be replaced by Barton nor Sizemore. Yes you have a prospect but it's not guarantee he will deliver like you want him to be. Since you pulled the trigger I would test Davis at third give Johnson DH Barton at first. But the A's fan would be happy to welcome Reynolds.

Im only early in my Cubs chise but i have decided that Byrd and maybe Soriano need to go, hell my whole OF needs to be replaced.

I am looking for some good prospects or MLB ready OF's that i can get and maybe an upgrade at 3B and at SP.

I like Garza, Volstad and Dempster but not sold on Jeff Samrardzija and Paul Maholm as my other starters, i have some prospects but none that are ready for the MLB just yet [soon, but not yet].

I am after ideas please.

Marlon Byrd to the Nationals for John Lannan? Or send him packing to Texas for Julio Borbon? That'd be a nice salary dump if you can make that happen.

Soriano would probably have to be to an AL team where he can DH. Send him to Cleveland for one of their many SP...Jeanmar Gomez, Josh Tomlin, Alex White etc.

I like the idea of Reynolds moving to Oakland and Daric Barton coming back is fine. I'd lean more in the direction of a 2-for-1 swap with say Reynolds for Barton and one of the young quad-A arms. My personal favorite is Jarrod Parker

Davis isn't an everyday defender but can play 1B or 3B on occasion. Probably suited for DH duties in the long run. I think Johnson signed a minor league deal this winter but I don't know how the game has handled his contract. Shouldn't be more than 1 million/year though.

I'd say aim for Barton from the A's and play him at first. Put Chris Davis on the corner along with Wilson Betemit and play the hot hand.

In my Mets chise im looking for a CF as Nieuwenhuis is on cold streak for almost a month now and Torres already left the team.

Doesnt need to be realistic, only fair.

That would leave me David Carpenter and Brandon Lyon as my setup guys. I have Enerio Del Rosario in the minors that could be called up with the departure of Abad or Lopez. If I not mistaken Del Rosario has an arm. He was aquire from the Reds in the off season, I think.

How about Lyon for Olivo? The M's need some veteran stability in their bullpen and Safeco could provide some extra insurance for Lyon's occasional hickups. Lyon would also be a safety net if they ship League this summer and Wilhelmsen isn't the guy to take over.

Thanks for the input man, i like the Lannan trade but that Borbon trade is very tempting as well.

Personally I'd try for Borbon since Lannan has the bigger contract in the game if I'm not mistaken. IRL I think Lannan makes like 5,5 million a year.

If you acquire Borbon he could play CF for you with his speed and range while you could put Brett Jackson and his 20/20 potential at a corner OF spot. Maybe in LF if you manage to send Soriano packing?

Harden has been with the Cubs before and if the price is right, I don't think a reunion is out of the question. Kazmir and Galarraga would probably welcome any deal they can get.

Vlad is strictly a DH these days so I don't see that happening. Rowand could sign but would probably fill that same 4th OF spot that Reed Johnson already has

I'm playing as the Cardinals and I'm looking to get younger obviously. The royals just put Eric Hosmer on the trade block.

I was going to include my best prospect Shelby Miller in a trade for him but then realized that the Royals are stocked with quality starting pitching prospects so I don't really think that would help them much.

The horrible trade logic in this game would allow me to trade Berkman and Matt Adams straight up for Hosmer, but I know that would be highway robbery so I cant do it. Is there anyone from the Cardinals I could package with Berkman to make it not such a ripoff for the royals.
