Yep, Owl is right, swallow your pride, start from the bottom and work your way up.

Theres no prizes for winning on higher levels more than there are for winning on rookie.

No, thats the point, i do not touch the L-Stick, the PCI covers most of the zone anyway, and if a CPU pitcher paints the corners on me and i miss, too good, fairplay, good pitching.

Timing (setting) is killing me, because I'll be "right on" a pitch up in the zone, and "just miss" it, fouling it off, I'll press RS to see how I could have possibly just fouled it, and the PCI will be in the low and away corner (on 2-0, no less). The swing timing would have been perfect, contact weak.

If zone really works like, where you can leave the stick centered, and use timing (not the setting, but the action) .... my frustrations (very few) will go away.

Someone said if the game seems to be stale or your getting bored with it to make it fresh by either fantasy drafting your favorite team or playing as a different team.

I'm taking the liberty of doing both at the same time with the pirates and going down to rookie ball. so far so good, first half inning over in Chicago, and im up 1-0!!! woo hooo!! lol

It really does work that way too, yes you can move the stick if you wish but i prefer not to, lets me concentrate more on whether to swing or not.

Play with it and then look and then press R3 after a swing, you will see the size of the PCI coverage, bigger for better hitters obviously, and gets even larger on contact swing as it should.

As i said on the last page, Timing is way too random, you are at the mercy of where the computer puts the PCI which is often nowhere near where you need it, as you say quite why it would be low and away on a 2-0 pitch is beyond me. At least with Zone you know where it is all the time, and like i said if the CPU paints a corner and you swing and miss...hats off to him, thats realistic.

Go to Zone, leave the stick alone and you will get your extra base hits back (as long as you dont swing at crap obviously) and save the game for yourself i assure you, i did.

I dont ever use guess pitch, never have nor will, you dont need it to hit well, what you need is good pitch selection and patience, dont be afraid to take good strikes.

Pitching seems kinda easy to me. Through 12 games, 3.74 ERA and 10/12 games have been QS. What should I do to make it more realistic?

Real MLB Team ERA's through today...



3.74 would only put you in 12th, so thats not unrealistic at all, just decent pitching, plus you have not played as many games as reality so it will change.

Due to the wind being "fixed" in the new patch...
...having it at 3 was meaning all games were very calm, it therefore makes sense to go back to default on wind.

Please disregard this. In my last series the wind (in Comerica, not known for howling winds) were 17mph, 15mph and 19mph all blowing out. Switched it back to 3 and the 17mph became 10mph, which is much better.

Please leave wind at 3, its still way overdone on default.

You guys are a game saver! I can't thank you enough! I had been trying timing and guess pitch but had stayed away from Zone hitting. This is perfect. I finally feel like I am playing the right way. I shut off the PCI indicator and just leave it in the middle and now I am actually hitting again. Plus someone just recently posted using 4/6/2 for the Computer pitching categories and I'm now drawing walks consistently! Game on!!!!

Not at all, im walking as much as ever 3/4 times a game on average, often more, im in the top 5 in MLB in walks.

Hey PsychoBulk what sliders would you tell me to bump up a little if I wanted to see more singles???

I have played quite a few games with my Twins franchise and my team batting average is way too low. Only thing is that I have hit 17 home runs already! So I am smacking solo homeruns all over the place but otherwise can't get on base for the life of me.

I am playing zone already (all-star)... the most runs I have scored in a game is 6. I am definitely better at pitching than at hitting because I am impatient, however feels like I never get clutch hits with runners on base and don't get many hits period.

I will try not moving the left stick-- maybe that will help

You dont need it "on" as such, its always on behind the scenes (press R3 after a swing for info) but you can play with it on the screen all the time if you wish, i dont.
