I think I read you say the newest test your doing is to test the extremes but damn those stats look nice. Especially the GIDP. Do you think that is a result of the sliders changing or is it an anomaly/sample size? Hope you put up a new set of recommended sliders for Human vs CPU after this test.

Although I wrote like that the only thing I really went extreme was fielding related sliders, to make them happen more so that I can calculate and interpolate the frequency better.

And yes the stats look pretty decent on this set, much better than I expected the changes that I made would introduce...

I was also surprised at first GIDPs being reduced so significantly, but I think that really makes sense due to the way I moved Power slider back to default and also increased Solid Hit slider.

Both were done for improving XBH ratios, but I think what happened with this change is that some singles are converted into XBHs, which reduces the number of baserunners sitting at 1B, resulting in a smaller number of opportunities for GIDPs... and also when a runner is on 1B, there is a smaller chance of generating hits (grounders vs. singles through the holes) that may end up in GIDPs.

There is also a contribution from the fact that I increased Infield Fielding Error to an extremely high value... which may be causing some double plays to be not competed successfully due to miscues.

That is very interesting. Is there anyway to get the triples under control without messing up doubles and singles? It's such a tricky game them sliders.. I appreciate all the work you are doing and it is fun to follow!

Adjusting the number of triples while balance the rest would be tough... basically you would want something similar to adjusting doubles, but don't want the baserunners to go past 2B when they can choose to do so. Last year they didn't take those risks and triples were fine, but this year they do.

I don't think there is one slider that affects solely that decision, so once you start trying to make that thing accurate you need to watch a bunch of others things to stay okay.

Do you think something within the game this year is effecting aggressive baserunning? Whether it be the players attribute itself or just game programming, I've noticed a lot more risky base runners this year. Especially trying to score from second on base hits when they're hard hit right at an outfielder.

Not really a complaint, more of just a question. I'm pretty content with the results I'm getting now with the set you posted.

They did change the baserunner speed scaling wise. Making slower guys slower faster guys faster, I believe.

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 15 Version]

I am seeing a lot of attempted scores on sac flies, and an alarmingly high percentage of them thrown out by a mile at the plate. The runner doesn't even attempt to get back to third base, even when the ball was thrown from the outfield straight to the plate.

Another problem that I am seeing is (I think it is a bug) a pop fly over in the stands behind the first base bag. The right fielder runs that way, gets stuck running in place in front of the stands, the ball is obviously five rows deep or more, and the fielder magically catches the ball. Unacceptable bug and because I have seen it so much it has to be a bug......or is this related to the fielder sliders?

One of the things I have been wanting to see is balls going over the outfielders' heads near the warning track. Last night I saw this for the first time against the Cardinals. My Reds won that game 4-2. What I did was decrease fielder speed by one and increase fielder errors outfield by one.

To create more errors and drama in the infield I increased throwing errors infield by one.

To slightly increase the number of hits I increased cpu timing by one. To get more doubles I increased cpu power by one.

                  Nomo, your sliders are GREAT

Of course I'm not really sure why there seems to be a difference in the degree of baserunning aggressiveness between this year and the last year...

It could be that the devs made them more aggressive, or it could be the result of the change BrianU has mentioned affecting more top-tier speed guys to go above the threshold for taking an extra base or not... that sort of thing. But I don't necessarily feel it is just speedy guys trying to go for an extra base... so that probably isn't the only factor.

I also feel that with the new fielding paradigm, there are moments where AI fielders and baserunners (especially the former) are not making the best decision in given situation. This kind of thing used to happen a lot less, but it's almost as if baserunners sometimes take advantage of those moments in which AI fielders are not responding well to the situation.

Thanks for your nice comment but it really is the game itself which plays great, and slider adjustments are only a very minor part of your experience with this game.

On the fly balls in the stands... sometimes the catch animation appears to go over the wall, but usually it's not that bad. If you are seeing fielders consistently go over the wall, then you might actually in the area of the stadium where the wall is not defined properly? I have read that Wrigley does have this problem and it appears to be a bug.

That's not really correctable with sliders.

This year the fielder speed has been slowed down quite a bit, so hits going over outfielders' head happen quite frequently. Gone really are the days we kept saying outfielders get to every thing...

No, only injury, stamina, and manager hook sliders work in simmed games... so you don't really have much control over simmed games via sliders.

I haven't really been collecting data that could specifically help in this adjustment, so I don't have a good suggestion.

I think most guys tend to lower Reliever Stamina after seeing certain relievers making too many relief appearances in simmed games, which I agree happens.

I don't believe BR Steal Frequency affects baserunning in general. If there were unintended consequence, then it might be due more to the fact that BR speed has been adjusted this year.
