So the HUM sliders are playing well on HOF? That is great news. I figured they might. I think I will give them a go when I start my next season. I would like to get a full season of percentages under all-star hitting first. Definitely up for it though. Thank you!

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders
Great sliders! Looking to combine these with Armour's set.
One question I have though is about the difference in All-Star and HoF pitching. You said that you use HoF pitching, and on the first post stated to change CPU Contact from 6 to 7 if you want to play on All-Star. Is that the only change you would make if I wanted to play on All-Star?
I tried them out as is with CPU Contact on 7 and seemed to have a tough time getting them to swing and miss or chase at any pitches out of the zone. Nearly everything I threw was hit, regardless of whether it was an actual basehit or not, and that's with having a pitcher like Chris Sale on the mound.Comment

If you want to fiddle with all star at contact 7, maybe consider dropping CPU timing to 3 to see if it balances. If not maybe just try the 6,5,4,4 set (same as HOF) to see if that works.
Let me know how it goes!Comment

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders
FYI, I have updated post #1 to better explain the thought behind the sliders and what is currently being used in V1.0. There was a lot of piecing together thoughts and updates as testing went along, so a cleaner update was long overdue!Comment

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders
Hey! Thanks for checking out the sliders. I have only used the CPU hitting sliders on HOF level and not All Star, but my thoughts are that the contact and timing (for CPU) seem to balance each other out, meaning that even though they may be more potent due to better contact, their timing drop will allow for more misses, poorly hit balls, etc. this has worked really well on HOF for me. I am averaging about 9 k's per game and giving up around 8-12 hits per game.

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders
I tried again using your exact sliders with CPU Contact at 7, and in my first game I gave up 13 hits but only 1 run. I also managed to have 6 strikeouts, however, which I would say is fairly average. My oponent had 12 singles and 1 double, though. I know sample size means a lot, but for one game that was a bit excessive. I'll try toning it back to 6 and see what happens.Comment

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders
Hey all. Been awhile since the last check in, so I thought I would throw out a box score (a loss, but good all-around game).
I will have some update percentages for both HUM and CPU tomorrow. HUM is still playing well, and CPU is still a work in progress. I still feel that the CPU seems to string together a bunch of single-heavy scoring rallies, so just a heads up that I have:
Dropped CPU timing to 3. I feel that that computer needs just a tiny bit more nerfing (hitting right at .300), and also gathering strikeouts pretty tough to gather. Through three games with lower CPU timing, results are looking really good so far.
more to come, but here is a box score for you.

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders
Another loss to the Tigers, but another great box score to report. I am feeling really good about dropping CPU timing to 3, as the variety has been very spread. Plenty of walks in this game as well, just cannot seem to get any K's with Steven Wright.
My spreadsheet dumped my data from the previous 30 CPU games, but from memory I can tell you that singles were running about 67%, doubles at 17%, triples at 3.5%, and HR at 12.5%. I would like to see some of those singles and triples turn into doubles, and in the last three games at CPU timing 3, it appears to be working. I will keep you informed when I have a larger sample.

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders
Fenway are you using quick counts? Or just straight up pitching? Also are you using these offline or online? Have you seen a difference if you have. I mainly play offline, but have played some online franchise and noticed a big difference with my slider set. For one reason I use auto fielding and running and I have a tendency to jack them up sometimes.Comment

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders
I have found that CPU and player relievers with nearly identical stamina stats will throw about the same workload, loose the same amount of stamina (because we use the same slider for each), then the CPU reliever will be darn near full the next day but the player reliever will be much more drained. This seems like an imbalance in recovery, not stamina, that is perhaps tied to difficulty (?). Regardless, I think it is really unfair, as in a five game series if I go 15+ innings against the CPU in game two, then I am really hindered in games 3-5 whereas the CPU is not (the have nearly full stam relievers).
Anyone noticed this/have a house rule fix?Comment

Fenway have to had a chance to check out my slider set and or what are your thoughts on adding modifiers to the mix like I do? I have 10 games left in the season and will post my findings. Just wanted to get another opinion.Comment

It appears that even though some other slider sets may have different (typically lower) fatigue settings, they tend to sync up the same for both HUM and CPU. I will pay more attention to this! Nice find!Comment

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders
What is the name of your set again? I have been plugging away at my season and have not tried other sets out yet. Did you use the same set for the entire season? That will make for some great data! Please share what you have after 162. I would love to see it!Comment
