Hey Armor.....are ya willing to put out any specifics on the change(s) you are testing? Also, how are strikeout #s with contact at 6?.... I downloaded latest SDS update and went in and put all good players on the 40 man so no injured players were left off MLB rosters .......now wanting to start but had to check in with you in case the prospective changes improve anything. I wanna start and not look back or have the slideritis voice whispering in my head

I ask everyone for some patience. Raider Ren who is my trusted assistant and I are testing the updates furiously….and the updates may come across as a big WTF.

So…..we are very close to a final set V2.

The issue at hand that both of us and a few others in my testing lab have seen after a month and easily over 130 games played between all of us is not the CPU.

In fact the CPU was OP offensively with the set 1.75.

The human side of hitting fundamentally was changed on MLB 21 and although it was drastically improved on 22 there was still that special something that was missing that we have on MLB 20.

True hit variety, more human contact falling in or finding holes.

The CPU hit variety and offensive threat is absolutely on point with the forth coming V2.

I hate….I loathe the 3 outcome game. I am old school and in my baseball universe I am seeking 1990’s 2000’s baseball. Not 2020’s baseball. Simple as that.

Some of you want that…..V1.75 delivers that and I encourage anyone who is satisfied and happy with the OP to stick with it.

But I know most of those that follow me have that “old school” non saber-metric mentality. Where ballin, guts, mental toughness and heart matter more. Where mangers made decisions based on human factors and going with their gut…not some spread sheet.

I am talking **** ing real baseball like we grew up with.

That is what V2 is going to deliver over the course of a 162.

Stats will never be perfect. And HR’s are what they are in todays game and the way the game is tuned.

But man I am having fun and that is all that matters to me. And at the end of 162 the reversion to mean will happen for the most part and then you will have those wonderful outlier seasons that will immerse you in storylines.

      Sit tight…..we are close.

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide

Thanks Armor for all of your work. I'm looking forward to 2.0.

I feel that the hit variety for me has been pretty good. Using pitch speed 3, I have been getting all kinds of hits. It may be due to the fact that I am late a lot on pitches. However, if the new V 2.0 sliders add even more hit variety, I'm all in.

As for there being slightly too many home runs in my games, I think it will work itself out. My last two games I have not gotten any home runs because I am facing the insane Brewer's pitching staff. So I'm not too worried about that issue.

I may regret not doing 30 team control, but everything seems ok right now, knock on wood. That AI is much better in terms of refusing trades. I was struggling to get some good minor leaguers, and even with good offers, the AI was saying no to most of their guys with a B potential, and they say no for all of their A potential guys. I was impressed.

I'm 8-16, so I had to make some changes, get a few half way decent starting pitchers for my 3-5 spots. I got a 77 rated guy and a 76 rated guy in what I felt were fair trades.

The real life Cubs are 8-12. Pretty darn close to reality, that's for sure.

My biggest trade was getting rid of Nico Hoerner, who hit like Willie Mays Hays from the movie "Major League. "You might run like Mays, but you hit like ****!" LOL. HIs averarge was .106 though 25 games. I traded Nico for my guy, Javier Baez. He should always be a Cubby. I just did not look too closely at the bill, yikes! The AI got a higher rated player that cost a lot less, and I guess Javier was not doing so well with Detroit, only hitting .215. I have a feeling he will do much better at home where he belongs.

Have fun everybody. And go Cubbies!

Appreciate the response, Armor. Yeah, I have to be patient cause I'm sure the wait will be worth it. I play and like the game as you described. I guess I'll start my franchise with the sliders as currently constructed and plug in the changes when they are posted..... hopefully soon! Haha

So on 30 team control to get the CPU to change their lineups freely, I would have to have that set to Auto on that profile in the franchise correct?

If I have manual on for lineups/ rotations for the 29 teams I’m not using for my actual franchise team, the CPU will not take guys out for performance or fatigue?

Fatigue yes......before a game if a guy is fatigued they will replace him and give him the day off for that specific game.

Performance.....no. The lineups will remain static until you change them.

Every two weeks I go thru each team and check performance.....literally takes me 10-20 minutes tops to make any performance related changes.

30 team control is a must IMO.....the logic unfortunately is simply horrid. And IMO has gone backwards since 20 not forwards.

But 30 team control cures all of that. And it allows you to also be a true Czar and really dig into your universe and have some fun.

Everyone should simply play the way they want.....but having 30 team control to at least right some terrible non sensical stuff is a must.

Heck you can set 40 man’s to auto too and not worry about that. The only thing you can have on manual is lineups just so you can make sure they have integrity.

I can’t play any other way.

Regarding your 30 team control manifesto:

Could you or somebody walk me through either by pm (I’m not sure if I’m allowed to receive pm’s yet) or post on this thread HOW to set up 2 profiles for one franchise mode - meaning the steps in proper order please?

I simply lack the basic knowledge for multiple profile setup, or really just understanding how, period - this would be for the PS5

I don’t know how to create nor apply both profiles to franchise mode and I’m completely intrigued by the possibilities!

If somebody could please take the time to walk me through it?

Thank you in advance to The Show community for your time!

Once the Yankee/Royals game is over I will be hoping on my PS5 and answer this question for you step by step.

You sold me on 30 team control. Thankfully my game glitched and I had to restart (having some graphics issues on Switch..imagine that) so the Bellinger/Devers trade was deleted, but I don't want anything like that happening again lol.

Thank you very much. So they will take players out purely out of necessity (fatigue or injury). Otherwise if I feel a young 2b on a bad team should get some playtime, I’ll have to put him in myself.

                    Thank you Armor.

                      Blake Snell
                      Mackenzie Gore
                      Matthew Liberatore

Gallo is hitting .222 HR 14 RBI 25
Montgomery has been rough but is still a 79 B potential LHP

Snell has been getting hit 2-3 with a 5.60 era.

Gallo is young and the Padres just added a huge power bat and defensive stud in LF to an already potent lineup.

The Yankees were not resigning Gallo and just added a veteran LHP starting arm with one more year on his deal.

And added two young LHP prospects.

The deal was pretty even and it remains to be seen if the two young arms every pan out.

                          Sir,

Thank You so much - this the first time I’ve ever given defensive control to the ai - pre loading throws can keep animations and transitions very smooth however, there’s really no comparison

For example, an outfielders ability to read the ball of the bat, his path or route, and his aggressiveness or indecision really all come into play on his reaction rating and that is accurately reflected in turning over fielding to the computer…

There’s just so much in this game…at the turn of the Millennium, there was High Heat for PC that was ported to the PS2 - the graphics were horrible but the AI was phenomenal…by 2005, MVP Baseball had evolved and really had become the Gold Standard - in particular, both the AI and the impact of sliders were a revelation and, I imagine the product of lessons learned from MVP 2004 when sliders really couldn’t achieve the desired results and the was both brilliant yet severely lacking…

The Show is phenomenal! I’m honestly new to the franchise - I bought it as the first generation release for the PS3 back in 2008 but the combination of lack of time and Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare on Xbox Live was, unfortunately, like Crack…

Anyway, coming back and seeing the effort put into this product by the community is just amazing! The passion that I see you all have for the game the sport, and just wanting a great experience is a lot of fun and has been over the years, to read about here.

                            Awesome post!

We will post step by step instructions soon….just not in front of the console yet.

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide

Ok from the main menu of the game:

                              Top right corner:

Press “settings” and press x on settings again.

You will see L1 R1 and name of simulation or arcade of casual etc

Go to gameplay and presentation and audio video and mode specific and make all the settings as per the OP

For your main profile which this is going to be on mode specific set everything to manual so you can handle everything for your main team.

Rename it to whatever you want and save it and that will be your default profile by scrolling over to the 3 dots next to Mode-specific and renaming it and saving it

Now go back and press those three dots again next to mode-specific. Press save as new preset then press crested from current.

Go to mode specific and set everything to auto except lineups (and 40 man if you want to handle and manage the 40 man duties as well).

The go to the three dots again press x the edit the name and call it “CPU”

                              Save.

Now you have your main profile and the CPU profile.

                              Now start a new franchise
Load in the roster you want to use if you have a save roster, or use current roster for the the most updated live roster or default for the out of the box rosters up to you.

Now you are in the set up screen.

Press square to select all teams.

Notice your profile is on every team.

Start going down each team and assign the “CPU” profile to every team except the o e you want to play as.

                              Advance

Up to you of want to ignore budgets (I have that off I want budgets on).

                              Fantasy draft off
                              CPU roster control is off
                              Allow legend free agents off
                              Cpu trading on
                              Force trades off
DH on (universal DH) auto is old school AL only dh and NL pitchers hit.
Extra inning runner (I have it off I hate it)

                              Press x to advance

It will have the Orioles screen because it is 30 team control….this is important too….set all three things:

                              Coaching tasks
                              Development tasks
                              Manager tasks

All to manual…..this will only affect your team not the other 29 which has the CPU profile assigned to them.

                              And you are set.
