Here are my game results since the change:

    Win 7-4
    Lost 6-2
    Lost 8-0
    Lost 10-1
    Won 4-3
    Lost 5-3
    Lost 3-1

Prior to the change i had a lot of games where I would have given up zero walks and would not be afraid at all to groove pitches. The current set, cpu hitters don't chase as much, and I'm less likely to just throw balls down the middle.

I'll keep going and sending updates.

Lost 6-2 to the Angels last night. Gave up 6 runs on 12 hits and 3 walks. I should also be clear that the good news is my team is doing a full on rebuild, so its not a very good team right now. So these results I'm having are reflecting what should actually be happening. Whether or not I stay on Legend remains to be seen. But the slider set up seems to be working and pitching is a real challenge with a variety of results. Case in point - I had a reliever come in and give up just 1 run in 3 innings.

I pitched on legend for a bit, and tbh didn't notice too much of a difference. And a couple years ago I used Dynamic Difficulty, and pitching on Legend was easier than Hall of Fame or All-Star.

CPU Contact is 10 is going to take some getting used to. The Braves just had a HR Derby off me and feels like the CPU is fouling off a lot of pitches outside the strike zone instead of takes or swings and misses.

What pitch speed do you use for these sliders? I was at 5 prior, but felt like I got too many hits, I am trying out 6 and 7 for both.

I am trying to power at 4 to see how that goes. 10/4/5/5/4 might work but I'm going to try 10/4/5/5/5 first.

I pitched one game and had a very low pitch count with the CPU being aggressive. Then the next game I had 45 pitches in the first 2 innings. But then they got more aggressive cause I finished the game with 145 pitches.

I got used to pitch speeds at 4 from when I was struggling. I can't get used to anything faster lol. But, if you are getting too many hits, that would be the first thing you should raise.

Give it time and try to adjust how you pitch. It feels like for a long time I was living in the strike zone with pitches and I was rarely getting punished for it. Contact at 10 forces me to really move the ball around and pitch outside of the zone a lot more.

Power is another story. 4 might be the answer but I'm going to wait on that.

I am however close to going down from legend to HOF. It does feel like pitching a few games in legend doesn't feel like a huge difference from HOF, but the more games you play on legend, the more challenging it feels, and not in a realistic manner.

Heya! Just been reading the last few pages of the thread. i'm currently playing on legend for pitching (with default sliders) and thinking of going up to goat ... bcos i can't get much offense from the CPU. and the only offense they get is the longball and whatever walks i've given up.

my batting and CPU pitching is all on point. the good pitchers own me, the good bullpens are nearly impossible to get going against, but every now and then i will get to them.

but pitching to the CPU. there's no small ball happening, not manufacturing of runs. it's all Homeruns, walks, errors and hard hit line drives to fielders ...

will this slider set get the CPU to play a little more small ball or at least a little less one-dimensional?

                      cheers fellas!

Hey! Welcome. We strive to get a good balance to make sure we try to get a realistic number of singles and homeruns to keep it from being one dimensional. I would recommend to try a game on HOF with 10/4/5/5/4. I see a lot of bloop hit singles from the CPU. Last game they had back to back bloop singles on 0-2 pitches. That is what I’m currently testing. Power and solid hits at 5 was a little too powering and actually was seeing too many doubles from them. I feel like the game plays a little better on HOF than legend.

Did something change in hitting with last update? I can barely hit the ball all of a sudden. "Good" timing almost always results in outs. I'm about to get up.

Nope. Hitting seems really good to me.

What hitting sliders are you using? I had to lower my pitch speed cause I was struggling. I would try to raise solid hits to 4 and see if that helps. You can also raise contact to 6. You can always go back down if you start to get too many hits.

Hitting is so user dependent. Just depends on your player’s hit and cold streaks. When you are slumping, the hard hits always seem to find gloves. Don’t know how many times that 3B seems like a vacuum.
