I didn't see this listed, but the scenes before the game where they show the stadium. I LOVE the fact that they show the REAL trains at the New York stadiums. Real train stations, too!

This is probally one of the best threads a game developer can view. Again, its these little things that makes a sports videogame fun.
I HOPE 2ksports and EAsports are reading this thread and implement this kind of stuff into all their sports games..seriously, atmosphere is crucial to making sports games funLast edited by Moegames; 03-04-2007, 04:58 PM...You win some, you lose some

The company highlighted above needs to seriously take a look at this stuff.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

With basketball and now baseball, all we need is a solid Football game (even without the official license) and I wouldn't even care what EA makes. 2k is moving in a great direction."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Little Things Thread.....
Had a couple of errors occur today that were neat. First off the Nats had a runner on first and he attempted to steal second. Aybar caught the ball at 2nd and did the sweep tag thing, only the ball flew out of his glove and into short right center whlie the runner hopped up and ended up at 3rd.
The other one occured in the same game with the Nats hitter hitting a little flare to right. Francouer came running in hard on it and tried to make a shoe string catch, but he ball hit his glove and dropped out. His momentum carried him past the ball and the hitter raced around first heading for second. By the time Francouer had gotten back to the ball and thrown to second it was too late. The hitter was credited with a single and Francouer got an error for allowing him to get to 2nd.
I also had a play that illustrated how they have really fixed defensive rotations. I hit a single down the right field line and as I rounded first the RF came up and fired to second. His throw took a bad hop and deflected off the SS's glove and into short left field. I took for second but threw on the brakes when I realized the LF had backed up the throw and fielded the ball. I went back and watched the replay just following the LF, and it was neat to see him watch the single and then move to back up the throw. Re: Little Things Thread.....
Not sure how legit this is, but on the News tracker at the bottom of my season screen, it said that Pujols went to management and was unhappy about his current situation. If something wasn't worked out, then he'd ask for a trade.
Okay... they Cards had a day off... and mysteriously, Pujols is "hurt" with a pulled groin, and can't play. I'm wondering if this is something to do w/ his contract situation, or if he was actually injured.Twitter - WTF_OS

The only errors I've encountered so far are the throwing errors to 1st,which pull the 1st baseman off the bag....but what I like is after he's pulled off he'll make an attempt to look for the bag....(almost like he knows he's out of position)People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Oh, I seen a Jose Canseco type homerun today too, lol. Hit one deep, and it bounced off the left fielders head, over the wall. Pretty funny stuff because the fielder kept running after the leap, and ran right into the wall and fell down, lol.Twitter - WTF_OS

Pujols "faking" an injury due to his unhappiness.

Re: Little Things Thread.....
Too many to list. Some "big" little things I love are the disparity between elite, good, and decent players. In my franchise with the Sox, especially batting, Ortiz and Manny are pretty close to impossible to get out. Then you have Pedroia, who I struggle to get base hits with. It just seemed like in MVP it was more dependant on the players ability to score runs and pitch well. This game has a semi High Heat feel to me, where it depends on mostly your skill, but also depends on the players ability quite a bit as well.
Another thing I love is every tiny bit of most players mannerisms are dead on. For example, when Manny swings and misses, he kind of flails and lets go with one hand like in real life. And when Ortiz swings, he has that 'half-stop' finish to his swing where the swing stops pretty high. Even lesser known players finish swings and have their own mannerisms. It just feels so much like real life I can't fathom it.
Thankfully I have finally found myself my own good set of sliders where I get very good stats, and I can also have a great time.Comment
