    Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

Franchise question: If you start your franchise with major leaguers in the minors (i.e. A-Rod or any other injured players), will they be called up to the big club by the CPU or do you need to fix the rosters ahead of time? Thanks.

The CPU will eventually call them up. I did that for Tim Hudson and Billy Wagner, and never monitored whether or not the CPU brought them up.

Next thing I know in a May Mets game the Mets bring in Billy Wagner to face my lefties in a key situation. I was pissed because I was like 'Damn' I thought I sent you to the minors Billy.

ok so yesterday i complained that i couldnt get any strikeouts with anyone besides webb. then i go out and get 9 ks with dan haren. through 4 starts he had 8 and now in one he got 9. anyways, i think i was relying on his fastball too much. i started throwing splitters like crazy and i got several swings and misses.

I changed my mind on controlling all 30 teams and think I will stick with just the Mets and Red Sox and probably play 1 game of each series or so.

I had a crazy, crazy game last night in my Reds season.
I played at Arizona and Haren pitched for them.
Anyway he no hitted me through 8 innings, I was losing 4-0 going into the 9th.
I lead of the 9th with back to back HRS (Phillips, Bruce) I then load the bases up with no outs down 4-2. I draw a walk to cut it to 4-3 and the DBacks bring in Pena. First pitch with the bases loaded and down 4-3 Hernandez hits into a 5-4-3 TRIPLE PLAY! Yes a triple play to end the game and lose by 1!
I am now 18-17, 2 games behind the Brew Crew.

That is insane, i thought grady sizemore stealing home against me in the bottom of the 9th to win it was nuts,

anyways i am 15-11 in my franchise, i am the yankees...

Hey guys, been insane here at work! I am currently 9-6 in my franchise with the Phillies. I switched it up and restarted from my first franchise. I am trying to get the most realistic sliders, and slowly getting there. Hamels finally turned it around, I am just trying to get the sliders down perfect. I am getting great play though. Peavy was nearly unhittable when I played him. I am loving this game.

                  Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

I'm currently doin a 162-game 'chise with the KC Royals. My record is 13-11, tied for first place with the twins in the AL Central. My aim is to stay above .500. Pitching-staff was really struggling in the first 15 games but its coming around nicely. I got trouble throwing strike-outs, only averaging 3,6 k's/ 9 IP. Except for Robinson Tejeda. He's been hot, he pitched for 14 innings throwing 19 k's allowing only 2 earned runs. He's injured right now but i expect him back soon. A bump in my 'chise is the injury of Gil Meche, hes out till mid june. Offensively, i got nothing to complain. Mike Jacobs already got 8 homers and 23 rbi's. Billy Butler had his struggles but was still able to post 5 long ones and 15 rbi's.

The future is bright here in KC.

                      Man O Man...

Just lost Utley 2 games after the ASB...

In the 7th inning of a hm gm vs the Cubbies, Utley slides into 3rd and has to leave w/ a foot injury.

Cole Hamels had already left the game w/ an abdomen injury after pitching only 1.2 innings - w/ a 1-0 lead.

After Utley got injured Bruntlett was hit by pitch in the back and had to leave the game.

I had heard someone else on here mention that when one person goes down they start to drop like flies...sure enough...

So now Utley is out for 54 days, and placed on the 60 day DL w/ a meta-something foot fracture. I should have him back by mid-September w/ about 12 or so games left. Hamels injury was only an 8 days playable one, and Bruntlett a 4 day playable one.

Tadihito Iguchi and Eric Bruntlett will platoon at 2B in Utley's absence.

The only silver lining is that after my 8-6 loss to the Cubs, I simmed the rest of July; winning that Cubs series, sweeping the Cards, losing to ARI, and taking 2 of 4 from SF w/ the remaining two games to begin August.

That puts me 1.5 gms up on the Mets in the NL East...damn this is going to be tough.

Guess I'm going to be playing more games than I expected...

I switch off between yours and his.
I was getting way too many hits with yours, I had 3 guys over .400 and Bruce was batting .477 through 30 games with your set. I am now using his set and having a tough time scoring, the problem is so is the cpu.
I played to more games vs the Padres last night.
I lost 1-0 and won 5-4 in 12 innings, the problem with his sliders is there are no HRS at all.
Again the problem I had with yours was way too many hits and runs.

I used yours as a base and worked from there, I couldnt get the CPU to get a lot of runs. I love your Human sliders, but I have the CPU sliders jacked up pretty high. I finally lost a game, I won 5 in a row, so I am going to test those out.

Im not positive but if I had to guess id say yes. Weiters was the number 2 prospect when the season began, then about a week in went to 1. He dropped down to 10 at one point when he was in a slump and is now back up to 3 with Colby Rasmus at 2 and Fernando Martinez at the top.

I had about 5 prospects in the top 100 at one point, I just checked now and I have 2 so I think it does work that way.

can anyone explain this injury bug to me? Everyday a popup keeps telling me that Daisuke is out 1 day with an injury, but he's on the 15-day DL and doesn't come off for another 6 days.
