    Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

Simmed another game to get the Manny injury clear, having it pop up after every game was annoying. 4-1 win over the Rockies. Didn't check the actual stats but I think Zito got the save.

Next game against the Dodgers was great. Lewis hits one out on the first pitch. Johnson had another no hitter going in the 7th with still only the one run and they ended up with the bases loaded (one was actually a walk though I thought it was BS,check swing,I'm sure he went) and 2 outs. Struck him out! Howard hit a solo shot in the top of the 8th and then Cordero who I got off the FA list and Wilson finished them off for a 2-0 win.

      Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

Played two series over the weekend (PHI @ Mets & BOS @ PHI); games from JUN 9th - 14th.

Lost another series to the Mets to put them back up 2.0 games.

GAME 1 - Joe Blanton pitched the first game of the series, and was pegged early for 5 runs in 3 innings and was pulled after 3. I ended up drawing back w/in 1 run by the 7th inning cutting the Mets lead from 5-0 to 5-4. Then w/ one out in the bottom of the 7th, Juan Cruz floated a 2-seamer into Ryan Church's wheelhouse for a 3r HR. Mets would add another run in that inning to get back out to a sizeable lead 8-4. I could only manage one more run, and lost 8-5.

GAME 2 - The next gm was Moyer vs Ollie Perez (who's leading MLB w/ 10 W's). This was a pitchers duel, where again NY won it w/ a HR. In the B8th w/ 2 outs JC Romero left a fat slider over the plate which David Wright parked into LF for NY to take a 3-2 lead heading into the 9th. I got the first batter (Raul Ibanez) on base, and K-Rod had to leave the game w/ an elbow injury. However, couldn't manage to get a run in to tie it, and the Mets took gm2 of the series 3-2.

GAME 3 - Avoided the sweep after getting 7 marvelous innings from Kyle Kendrick (who has replaced Chan Ho as the #5 SP). The Phillies were leading 8-0 heading into the B8th on the strength of a Ryan Howard 3r HR (for his 16th of the year), and a 4 for 5 day by Chase Utley. Kendrick ran into a little trouble in the B8th, and the Mets cut the lead in half 8-4. However, he'd settle in and finish the game out to improve to 4-0 and throw his 2nd CG.

        Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

I only got in 2 games all weekend (at ND for spring game).
Anyway I won both games as the Reds at home vs the Braves.
I am now 9-9 (2.5 games behind the Cards) and on a 3 game winning streak! By the way the almost the whole Braves team came into the series cold, they are now 4-14.

Game One: REDS 5 BRAVES 1
Volques picked up his 3rd win and was just masterful, 8 inn 2 hits allowed 13 k's 1 ER.
At the plate the star was Dickerson, 3-4 1 HR 3 RBI's.

Game Two REDS 4 BRAVES 3
Arroyo went 7 and allowed 3 Runs and 13 hits, he also had 4 K's.
At the plate Jay Bruce was 2-4 with a HR, Edwin was 3-4 with 2 RBI'S.

        Player stats through 18 games
        Player AVE HRS RBI'S
        Edwin .420 8 25
        Bruce .421 5 14
        Phillips .310 3 18
        Votto .321 0 12
        Hernandez .280 1 4
        Taveras .277 0 2 (also has 9 SB's)
        Dickerson .289 1 6
        Gonzo .299 0 4
        Hairston .255 1 7

        Player W-L ERA
        Harang 1-2 4.99
        Volquez 3-1 3.66
        Arroyo 1-1 5.99
        Cueto 1-1 6.10
Owings 0-3 24.90 (that is not a typo!)
Cordero 5-7 in save opp. 5.45 ERA

        A couple of things
        1. My team ERA is 5.50 but was 6.40 5 games ago, my pitching has gotten alot better as of late.
        2. My team batting average is .308 but is falling, it was .333 5 games ago. I went through a 6 game streak in which my team was on fire at the plate, they have since come back to Earth.

Finally got the patch!!! I am now 2-1 with the Mets. I hit a 3 run HR in the 9th to beat the Reds 3-2
          Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

Last game against the Dodgers it was 1-1 after 1.
It was also 1-1 in the 11th.
Howard got walked,Sandoval got a single.
I tried to bunt them over with Burriss but they threw out Howard.
Molina hit a double and scored 2 runs.
Wilson closed it out for a 3-1 win.

I am just over 20 games into the season. Played every game so far. But I might restart and turn off injuries. To stop the stupid injury bug

                Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

As it crossed the line from fun but dealable with to frustrating, screw this mess I simmed to the WS.

In the regular season it said Lincecum won the Cy Young in 216,in the WS it said he won in 2225.

The WS celebration sucks. No fireworks and the fans sitting on their hands.

Playoff teams in the AL were:
                1 Rays 4 Angels
                2 Indians 3 A's
                Angels and A's won,Angels won.

                NL:
                1 Giants 4 Mets
                2 Cards 3 Padres
                Giants and Cards,then Giants obviously.

They gave the WS MVP to Howard after the game but the awards screen says it was Manny.

                BJ Upton is the AL MVP .299 AVG,26 HR,106 RBI,137 runs,59 steals
Kazmir is the AL Cy Young winner 17-9 with a 3.67 ERA
Brian Fuentes is the AL Reliever of the year 2.20 ERA,22 saves/26 oppurtunities
Mark Weathers of the Orioles for ROTY with .269 AVG,29 HR,108 RB and 72 runs
AL Comeback player is Josh Fields

NL MVP is Fred Lewis with .295 AVG,40 HR,112 RBI,122 runs and 53 steals
Lincecum gets his 3rd time traveling Cy Young going 23-6 with a 2.18 ERA
Reliver of the year to Matt Capps of the Pirates with a 2.79 ERA and 24 saves/31
Maybin is the ROTY with .287 AVG,26 HR,96 RBI,95 runs and 30 steals
NL Comeback player is Kevin Fransden with a .295 AVG,21 HR (none by me),87 RBI,113 runs and 15 steals (also none by me)

                Best record: Giants 107-55
                Best AVG: Indians .286
                Best OPS: Indians .840
                Best ERA: Giants 3.40
                Best WHIP: Giants 1.28
                Most HR: Indians 249
                Most Steals: Mets 182
                Most Strikeouts: Cubs 1056
                Best Fielding %: Jays 98.8%
Lowest cost per win: Padres 0.71m

Randy Johnson,Jason Varitek,Jamie Moyer and Pudge are the significant retirements.

Posted results of my 'chise after the month of May.

The AL East is in flux w/ no team taking control of the division, and mediocrity setting in. The Mets had a 4 gm lead after May, but I've since taken the division back w/ 4 or 5 games left to play in June. Pat Burrell of all people is leading the majors in HRs, and Oliver Perez has the most W's of any SP sitting at 10.

Check out how your favorite team has fared in my 'chise, and post any comments you'd like.

                  --------------------------------------------------------------

Currently in my 'chise I've gotten Cole Hamels back on track as his last 3 starts have been of the Quality Start variety and 2 coming w/ Wins.

                  His lines:
                  L @ LAD - 8.0IP 10H 3ER 1BB 3Ks
                  W vs BOS - 9.0IP 3H 2ER 0BB 6Ks
                  W vs TOR - 7.0IP 9H 3ER 2BB 7Ks

In that W over Boston he had a no-no going after 5 innings, but as SOON as Steve Phillips acknowledged it Mike Lowell hit a seeing eye single up the middle. Hamels had shutout Boston through 8 until giving up a 2r homer to Dustin Pedroia. I'll face off w/ Tampa Bay tonight w/ a matchup of Hamels vs Price.

Had an awesome game last night.

Hamels pitched a 2 hitter against the Mets.

Victorino hit a bullet down the line in the 8th for the go ahead run at 2-1.

The flood gates opened with an Utley Double and a Howard HR to put the phils up 5-1.

Kick some Met A$$. They've been my toughest games, and it's been a real challenge beating them. Have yet to win a series, but at least haven't gotten swept. I'll turn the tide in the next series, and in the 2nd half...
