my franchise has frozen after a great 12-7 start with my Mets. I will probally have to restart it tonight. I can't get it past the same game any suggestions. I'm stuck and have it saved during the 8th inning and every time I play it it will not go past the post game screen.

I wan't to keep playing the game but, a restart on my franchise could be a killer for me.

In game saves are broken. Don't use it. This is probably why your 'chise is locked up. You don't have an alternate save?

Always have an alternate save. :wink:

Exactly!
You need to always save the game twice after each game.
Although the game has not locked up or frozen on me once since the 2nd patch.

How are in game saves broken?

I just beat up on the Reds in the first game of the series. I pitched Blanton, who let in 4, but I scored 12 thanks to a massive 7th and 8th inning. Lou Marson had a beautiful HR finally in my franchise. I am finding great sliders, trying to just perfect them. I am currently in a game where newly acquired Bucholz is throwing a gem through 7 innings.

I am currently in a game where newly acquired Bucholz is throwing a gem through 7 innings.

In-game save seem to cause freezing issues. Only time I had MLB2K9 freeze was from a gm I previously had played, started up, finished, and then was brought back to the MLB.com screen...

A few minutes later going through the menus the game froze, and wouldn't reload.

I deleted that file, and had to play the game over but all was not lost.

I did not have an alternate save so my season is probally lost. will it continue to lock up everytime I replay the last 2 innings?

Wow. You want to take those players from their teams?

No I want to get rid of Zito and Renteria. Wouldn't take them if the team was doing well.

I'm either going to trade for Adam LaRoche, Adrian Beltre or Vernon Wells. I'm using the Giants, can anyone help me figure out a fair deal for any of them?

With Pittsburgh, I was going to start out with Ishikawa as one of the main pieces. Not so sure about Toronto.

Can put Renteria with just about anyone and get Wells. I don't have Ishikawa anymore,already traded him and Winn for Ryan Howard.

Can get McLouth with Renteria and Zito so I'm sure you'd be able to get LaRoche,Renteria straight up works actually. Looks like they'll take Sandoval or Molina for LaRoche too.

After downloading the new patch, I decided to start a new franchise with the Florida Marlins. I wanted to play with a young and fun team that's in a tough division. This team has a lot of speed and power in Emilio Bonifacio, Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla, but their young pitching staff is suspect. Anyway, I decided to make a trade for Tim Lincecum because he is such a beast in this game.

Do you think this is a fair trade or did I screw over the Giants with this move?

I traded Ricky Nolasco, Andrew Miller and Chris Volstad for Timmy.

I always make one trade like that.

However they're 16-8 and in first in the division. 7-2 on the road and 4th overall in the power rankings. Also Winn is leading them in hits,average,3rd in HR,1st in runs scored,1st in walks,on base %,slugging %,on base + slugging %,steals and is the only guy on the team that hasn't commited an error. Doesn't look like it hurt them much.

Yes it will.
I tried to finish a game 4 times that I had saved and started later.
The game would not go to the main franchise screen once the game was over.
I would never use the in game save feature if I was you.
It will screw up alot of things inside your franchise.
Here are the things that I have found it messes up.
1. Saves-for some reason it doesnt always record the save for your closer if he closes a game after the in game save.
2. The correct winning/loser pitcher-If you look at your schedule it will change all the correct winning and losing pitchers for each game on the schedule screen. Some games at the schedule screen will even show pitchers that are not even on your team with the win or loss.
3. Post game box scores-It will not have many of the stats listed that happened before the in game save. It will never have the starting pitchers stats if he was removed before the in game save.

I used the in game save feature every game for a long time, I would save every game after the sixth inning because I was afraid of the game freezing in the late innings. Bottom line the feature just doesnt work!

Oh c'mon...A 34 yr old OF'er vs a 29 yr old stud 1B. Phillies already had 3 outfielders worthy of starting (Victorino, Ibanez, Werth).

You screwed the Giants. Honestly, Florida's starting pitching is great.

You make the case for Josh Johnson emerging as one of the best SPs in the NL. Ricky Nolasco is a very good #1/#2 starter. Volstad is a solid #3, and Anibal Sanchez and young lefty Andrew Miller at the back end, what's not to like?

This kind of move is uncharacteristic for Florida as Lincecum will command a big contract moving forward, which is something Florida doesn't like to to. If there's anyone player that's untouchable, at least right now, it's gotta be Lincecum.

After losing two to the Brewers last night I am now 3-5 with the Reds.
Here are my batters stats after 8 games. (I also posted these in JBH3'S slider thread as I am using his great sliders.)

My averages look inflated because I had a very wild game in which I scored 16 runs and had 27 hits. The cpu just would not change pitchers enough in this game. They only used 2 pitchers the whole game. Once I rattled their reliever they left him in and I crushed him.
