Anyway I have yet to make any trades because if I trade Burton for Cust I really need to trade Hairston or Dickerson for some bullpen help. I was looking around the trading block and the Red Sox would trade we Saito for Hairston, what do you think of that trade?
    Maybe their asking price increased?

Saito for Hairston...hmm, I guess I can see that move going down. Boston could use Hairston's versatility to play SS or the OF.

By the way do you ever use the in game save feature in the game? If so quit using it as it seems to promote freezing in the game.

So, Do I have to start my franchise over again? or do I just save the I have again, and make 2 files and then load the other one?

So are you saying you load your franchise and then go into play your fifth game from the beginning and then it freezes in the 3rd innining? Or are you trying to finish a game you started earlier and used the in game save feature?

          Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

Thought I was going to get no-hit by the Giants Matt Cain. He took a no-no into the 8th inning, but w/ only 5 outs left to complete the game Carlos Ruiz (of all hitters) broke up the no-hitter w/ a single into left-center. I only had 3 hits the entire game, all coming off of Cain, and only got 5 baserunners on as Cain and Wilson each walked 1.

I was going for a 4-gm sweep of the Giants in San Fran, but was shutout 4-0. Cole Hamels got another loss tacked onto his abysmal 2009 record of 3-12. He did strike out 8 though giving up 3 runs and 7 hits over 7.0IP. He does have 11 quality starts, but he just hasn't gotten the same run support as Brett Myers (8-8) and Joe Blanton (11-5); to Blanton's credit though he is leading ALL SPs in ERA w/ a 2.95 ERA.

SF has been surprising since June. They have the 2nd best record in the NL, but unfortunately for them Arizona has an even better record and is in 1st place...there still in line for the Wild-Card though.

            What is Cole's ERA?
He sounds like he is getting the same run support as Harang in my season. Harrang is 2-6 with a 3.95 ERA.

Yeah, I'm loading my franchise up, haven't used the save feature yet in the game. I start my chise up and it freezes in the 3rd or 4th inning.

It happened to Harang again last night for me, he pitched 8 innings allowed 1 run and lost!
Matter of fact I lost 2 last night, I am now in a 3 way tie for first with the Brewers and Cards. All of us are 26-25.

Yea I just can't get a win for my staff ace. What'll either happen is I'll get a 2-0, 3-0, or 4-0 lead early, and by the 6th or 7th Hamels will have given up the lead OR I'll get into a pitchers duel and Hamels won't get ANY run support.

I will say that I struggled w/ him for the 1st 2 months, but now have found my niche w/ him pumping out quality start after quality start. Either he loses w/ 0 run support, or I can only muster 1 or 2 runs while he gives up 3.

                        Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

2-1 right now with the Red Sox. Won the first game 4-1. Lost the second game in the 8th inning, was leading 4-3 then game up a two-run homer to eventually lose 5-4. Just won the third game, to wrap up the first series against the Rays, 2-1.

I've restarted a few different times, each time not playing more than a month. Just trying to get the most realistic, but still fun, experience. I've settled on default All-Star with CPU strikes lowered to 5 or 10, I forget.

I don't really want to make a thread about this, maybe this is true for most parks, but, does anyone else notice that Fenway park seems pretty much empty? Not just sounds wise, I mean, the park literally looks like the New Yankee stadium attendance wise. I think there are dynamic attendances, (if you lose, less people show up) but that's not really the problem.

At Toronto's ballpark, it's packed, and it actually looks like there's 30,000+ people. But at Fenway, it looks like there MIGHT be 5,000. Down the first and third baselines looks like there's maybe 500 seats on each side, and pretty much the same for the outfield. Sort of a let down for possibly the most recognizable ballpark in America...

I only got in one game last night because fo Lost, anyway I beat the Cards 4-2 in a really wild game.

                          R H E
                          CARDS 3 6 0
                          REDS 4 9 0

This one had a really wild ending, I have never seen anything like this before in a video game. Allright I am down 3-1 going into the bottom of the 9th, the Cards take out Carpenter who pitched a gem and bring in their closer. He strikes out my first two batters and I then draw a walk with Taveras. Next is Brandon Phillips who also draws a walk, then all hell breaks loose! The Cards closer then hits the next four batters on 4 straight pitches and I win 4-3 and a walk off hits batsman. It was crazy as again he hit 4 batters on 4 straight pitches and all 4 guys got hit in the head!

                            Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

Philly is on a roll to start August. This is always a good month for us.

So far I'm 5-1, sweeping Colorado, and already a game up on Florida heading into the 2nd of 3 games @ hm w/ Hamels pitching gm2; hopefully I can improve him to 4-12...

Last night beat Colorado 8-3 to win the series, and simmed the final game to complete the sweep. In my 8-3 victory Joe Blanton improved to 12-5, received another quality start allowing 3 runs in 6.2 IPs, and struck out 4. His ERA improved from 2.95 to 2.94 .

Colorado struck first w/ a run in the 1st, but Jimmy Rollins legged out a double and the next batter Tadahito Iguchi sent one sailing through the night sky to LF for a 2r HR and a 2-1 lead. I would end up piling another 6 runs on colorado charging Aaron Cook w/ 5 of them. 3 came in the B3rd w/ a Ryan Howard 3r shot to LF, his 35th of the yr and rbis 103, 104, and 105. Victorino homered in the 6th for his 10th of the year, and Stairs added a two run shot in the B7th - his 6th.

After the game I looked at the award race, and saw that I've got Howard leading the NL MVP voting and Blanton leading the NL CY voting. Howard's leading the majors in HRs by 5 and RBIs by 11. Utley is the league leader in avg hitting like .360, but he is out until mid/late September. Howard is hitting .348 currently...I'm realling trying to accomplish that triple crown.

Question for you all...How many times has a team had the MVP and CY Young winner on their team? I know in '86 Clemens won both awards.
